This article is a joke. It is written so that those opposed to a Fed audit are viewed favorably and those for the audit as lunatic angry people with no understanding of the Fed.
"Politics won out." Really? Democrats didn't follow Frank! No mention of the 300+ house supporters of "Paul's more controversial audit."

"Make no mistake; this move to bring the Fed's conduct of monetary policy under the control of Congress is a grave threat to our economy," Gregg said.

What is wrong with the press, specifically Jennifer Liberto, for not calling Gregg out on this false statement. The bill simply audits the Fed, hence the name "Audit the Fed". An audit does not give congress control over monetary policy.

"Politics won out." couldn't read further after that culmination of backward statements. Politics winning out would be continued compromise and faith in our benevolent overlords. Politics did *not* win out; people want real answers.

"We're in a very populist era and that populism is manifesting itself in a dislike and distrust in large institutions,"

"Populist" Definition From Wikipedia

"...the political doctrine that supports the rights and powers of the common people in their struggle with the privileged elite..."

Well that makes me a populist, the amoral abuse and devastation of the worlds financial systems by greedy corporations, unelected power brokers and lobbyists, unchecked roaming bands of international aristocratic Kleptocrats means that

"...a dislike and distrust in large institutions..."

Is richly deserved

"Make no mistake; this move to bring the Fed's conduct of monetary policy under the control of Congress is a grave threat to our economy."

Let me fix that for you.

"Make no mistake; the Fed's conduct of monetary policy is a grave threat to our economy."

The article was heavily slanted toward the propaganda of cool headed and altruistic elected officials valiantly trying to save us all from the impulsive and hot-headed unwashed and uneducated masses, who want to interfere with our benevolent Fed overlords and destroy our economy. This congressional hubris must stop. This worshiping at the alter of The Fed is coming to an end.

Since when was an educated and motivated populace a threat to our society? Isn't that exactly the basis of our society and government?
