It seems like the Democrats are counting on an economic recovery, but what are they going to do when job losses increase and consumer spending doesn't rise? They're going to borrow and print more money to pass another stimulus.
Deficits needed to be cut two years ago, not next year. They can't get the economy under control without ending our empire, and we all know that option is not going to be on the table until our political structure crumbles around us. |

But isn't it great that the administration that has given us by far the biggest deficits ever is now jawboning about how bad deficits are? Talk about speaking with forked tongue. |

| Posted 11/14/09 10:43 AM StatusQuoJoe Phoenix, AZ | The difference between the fall of our empire and the fall of the Roman empire is that a lot more of the collapse will be recorded for future generations, assuming their are future generations to debate the issues.
Perhaps we have become the collective "fall guy". The world seemingly desires a collectivist state, its like some unexpressed desire to be corralled into a pen so that personal responsibility can be exchanged for collective suffering. The collectivist mindset is that the individual can make inappropriate choices so the basest of human desire can be satisfied while the negative consequences are absorbed by the collective. In that line of thinking the American empire has become the case study or the collectivist guinea pig of the world. When it fails perhaps the failures will be studied by the social engineers to determine what would have worked better for their next glorious plan for a bigger and better sheep pen. Of course the ideal result would be that individuals would opt for personal choice and a commitment for personal responsibility regardless of the outcome of the choice, positive or negative. I suppose that is why we are all here, in hopes that our voices have some influence on the outcome. |
