Mr. Bush said that "the role of government is not to create wealth, but to create the conditions that allow entrepreneurs and innovators to thrive.".....

Yeah, you know, like send in the United States Military-Industrial Complex to create the conditions that allow American contractors to thrive......

Bush is being used here to decrease the popularity of free market principles among the Bush-haters. Who better to advocate the free market than a known liar?

I know it's hypocrisy, but at this point, anything that helps further the cause of free markets in the minds of those listening has potential.

"As I said in my second inaugural address, extending the reach of freedom 'is the urgent requirement of our nation's security, and the calling of our time,' "

Freedom? Free Markets? PFFFT. "extending the reach of freedom" = "continued meddling in the internal affairs of sovereign nations to further politically-connected US corporate interests"

""I believe in the power of the free enterprise system, which made the decision I faced last fall one of the most difficult of my presidency. I went against my free market instincts and approved a temporary government intervention to unfreeze credit and prevent a global financial catastrophe," he said"

Translation.... "I F'd up royally"

Yes President Bush, we know, now please go back to Texas and clear some brush or something since you're the last person we need as a spokesman for free markets.

Awesome.. another moron to half heartedly speaking our message without understanding it at all. Nothing worse than trying to discuss liberty with a progressive liberal who really has a good chance of liking what we say, but instantly tunes me out accusing me of being a Beck/Bush/O'Reilly fan. On one hand, I am glad people like Beck speaks our message (at least some of it) in the main stream, but does that really help considering how polarizing these people are? I invite anyone to our movement; I don't mean to be pretentious and pretend like it's ours, but I just think the people in the forefront should have been consistent liberty lovers. Imagine if the Judge got his own show. I was upset to watch this week's south park as well, whom the creators apparently used to be libertarians and are actually the one's who showed me the light.

We really aught to begin letter-writing campaigns to the Republican party contacts and Faux News to purge the Bush Klan, Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and his little girl, Newt Grinch, Lindsey Graham and the rest of the neocon swine from representing the Republican Party.

If every time we saw one of these thieving, tyrannical, despicable varmits crawl out of the pit they got lots of compaints to moderate Repug-party members, they might realize they'd do far better without that old corrupt baggage reminding voters of the past.

Its common sense, not much to understand. Even a half-wit such as Bush gets it! He is probably trying to create a legacy that he never managed to in his reign.

I had to laugh when I saw this one. He's an easy target, but I still have to give kudos to some of the (sadly) hilarious comments:

"Yeah, you know, like send in the United States Military-Industrial Complex to create the conditions that allow American contractors to thrive......"

"Awesome.. another moron to half heartedly speaking our message without understanding it at all.

LOL! Please keep them coming. Laughing makes helps keep me from crying.

By the way, it keeps getting funnier as the C4L news feed has the article about Bush's devotion to "freedom" right under a new article about how Obama is concerned about spending and the deficit.

As the great David St. Hubbins once said, "Check me on this! Am I losing my mind?"

This man is a war criminal!

Why is he getting any exposure in the media that is not related to his eight year killing spree?

I would spit on him if ever in the same room.

Maybe when individuals get into .corpgov aristocracy, some kind of nano technology transforms their brains and controls their thinking. Greenspan was supposedly a champion of free markets and became the worst abuser of free markets known to man. We have Obamao, a sworn communist who is championing a fascist takeover, he sure "change"d. Now we have Bush seemingly recovering from the nano tech control and speaking about economic liberty at least from the concept of a corporation as an individual, (decentralized collectivism?).

Things are getting weird.

Isn't it funny how after people leave office and are disconnected from their overlords they break back to reason?

It's sad, Bush must feel so much pain for all the lives he has ruined in war ventures.

"Former President George W. Bush, outlining plans for a new public policy institute, on Thursday said America must fight the temptation to allow the federal government to take control of the private sector, declaring that too much government intervention will squelch economic recovery and expansion."

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Do not be fooled. He does not believe a letter of his words. Bush is simply trying to co-opt the tea-party/liberty movement like the rest of the NeoCons, excuse me, Warlords. I would prefer it if Bush would shut his mouth and have a violent heart attack, as anything he supports loses credibility. His hypocricy will be used to claim our words equally vapid.

Bush was one of the greatest threats to liberty and economic growth that our country has ever seen, and he presumes to warn us? Either he is a mental midget or he thinks we are...or, more likely, both.

The greatest service he could perform would be to sink into oblivion.

Right about now we could all use some sage advice from George W. Bush, his wisdom is an asset to our nation. HAHAHAHA! This is rich! By the way, is anybody interested in buying a bridge? You can make a fortune on the tolls.

Today I was just pondering when this nightmare is going to end. I foolishly thought that Obama was actually going to be an improvement over Bush. After eight years of Bush we're now on the fast track to socialism. Does Bush have even an inkling of what's been done to our country during his presidency? As bad as Obama is I'm not interested in Bush's opinion.

In 2010 we've got to go all out and vote as many libertarians into congress as we can.
