lol.. Hmm. Walgreens, Duane Reade, etc (crappy low paying drug store jobs) all have sick leave... How about, if you want the ability to have sick days - you make sure that you take a job that gives them. Besides, people in the mentioned work fields above don't really *need* sick days/5 day leave because they are with the public - meaning they have built up an immunity. When I started working with the public, I was always feeling a little sick - the sniffles, sneezing.. whatever etc.. Now, I don't get sick even if a customer sneezes directly on me. |

I work a job with virtually none of these types of guarantees. If I am not out working for, and billing my clients, I don't get paid...as it should be. Hence, I am very motivated to work/save for a rainy day. I have constructed ways to get work done from home, and avoid the office cesspools. This was tremendous benefit when I got the flu a couple weeks ago. Once I got my wits back from the fever and pounding headaches, I was able to get some work done. Having skin in the game motivates. It produces greater RESULTS, in far less than an 8 hr day. This garbage, which we are certain to see more of as push-back from labor, has the complete opposite effect. |

Government sure loves inflation. |
