Dear Mr. Fickle:
Thank you for getting in touch with me about recent amendments to the Restoring American Financial Stability Act that would require an audit of the Federal Reserve.
While I opposed Senator Vitter's efforts to require a full and annual audit of the Federal Reserve, I supported Senator Sanders's amendment that would require a one-time audit of the Federal Reserve. Unfortunately, the Vitter amendment would have intruded into the Federal Reserve's monetary policy functions, which could have had harmful effects on our economic recovery.
The Sanders amendment - which passed with unanimous support - would require a one-time audit of the Federal Reserve for the first time in history. The Federal Reserve would have to publish the names of all financial institutions, businesses, and central banks that received assistance from the Federal Reserve since December 1, 2007. In addition to this information, the Federal Reserve would have to report the type of financial assistance provided, the value of the financial assistance, the date on which the assistance was provided, and the rationale for such assistance.
I believe that this amendment for a one-time audit of the Federal Reserve will help increase transparency and accountability in the financial system while protecting the interests of the middle class.
As I continue working to identify beneficial financial regulatory changes, I will be sure to keep your views in mind. Thank you again for getting in touch with me.
Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown United States Senator
Ok everyone in Ohio join me in banging my head against the wall simutaneously!!

I give this bill 2 years before it's bankrupt and out of money via Government borrowing from activities like; nation building, hookers, private jets, bailing out Greece ,Global Warming,Trips to Europe to get a nobel peace prize, Trips to Europe to apologize, Doling out money to IMF, mistresses, lobster dinners,Bailouts for "Companies that are too big to fail" and "a beer with the Pres. on the white house lawn" type of events.
It is no longer a right when it is forced upon you!
It is not life, liberty, pursuit of happiness when it's Government intervention that is forced upon you!
It's not a fundamental right when it's forced upon you!
To simply put it; It is Tyranny!

Congressman John Boccieri. I'd like to ask you in a polite manner to co-sponsor HR 1207. Which currently has 222 co-sponsors with Rep. Dennis Kucinich being one of the co-sponsors. I am aware sir that the Federal Reserve is not Federal at all but, a private entity, which indeed is a violation of our Governing documents.
Since it is a private entity and has control and or influence of so many aspects of our money/monetary system and our economy, I ask that the Federal Reserve be Audited like any other Private entity or corporation be audited.
Please remember you work for the people of this 16th district whether they voted for you or not. Mr Boccieri, hear the voices of the people you represent in the16th district ,co-sponsor H.R. 1207 and audit the Fed. Your action in co-sponsoring this bill will enable me to remember you in future elections.

For those of you that garden and enoying growing your own vegetables and have extra seeds or plants you can not fit into your garden.
How about doing a swap/exchange with other gardeners in your area/county/district?
What this entails is if you would like to grow a crop and a person or persons have a few extra plants or seeds that your looking to grow and swap/exchange what you have extra of.
It would be easier to all those that want to participate to list what they have to exchange/swap with others.
Can be heirloom or hybrids, from tree's to tobacco to berry's.
If we all can be on the honor system with each other and pay our own postage for mailing seed or plant that would be ideal ,or even betterdo a personal seed/plant exchange, which would be great to get out and meet more of our brothers and sisters of liberty in your area.

Poll: Would you like to be in a seed exchange?

KathyLatshaw BeaReady Smithville, OH | Great idea! I voted 'yes' since we already made an exchange ;)
Anyone else need tomatoes? I have some polish heirloom seedlings, believe the name is Soldacki. They are delicious and this is my second year with great tomatoes. They get big as a pound, very dense with few seeds, dark pink color. |

Pelosi: "We want them Registered."
Written by Jeff Knox, on 04-08-2009 15:03
When Nancy Pelosi said those words on Good Morning America she opened a can of worms she has been trying hard to keep hidden on a back shelf - but what was she really talking about?
Pelosi's comments have generated quite a bit of rhetoric from gun-bloggers and some rights groups, and I'm not coming to her defense in any way, but while we are critical of our opponents' distortions and inaccuracies, we need to be doubly careful about our own accuracy. Both Pelosi and the interviewer were struggling with spoken English during the brief interview and it is difficult to definitively say exactly what was meant by almost anything either of them said, but here's my take.
The interviewer tried to get Pelosi to take responsibility for the "assault weapons" issue and Pelosi tried to dodge by talking about the DC voting bill and the gunowner rights amendment that was attached to that bill by the Senate. I believe her comments about registration and "crossing state lines" were in reference to that piece of legislation, not "assault weapons."
What is abundantly clear is that Speaker Pelosi is just as ignorant about guns, gun issues, and the Constitution as she has ever been, and would enthusiastically support any restrictive legislation she thought she and her party could get away with. But as I have repeatedly pointed out, she is smart enough to understand that there is very little she could get away with without serious repercussions in the next elections so she continues to duck the issue.
Below is the actual transcript of the interview. I think there are a few minor typos and lots of really, really bad grammar and twisted phrasing. You decide what you think she was really saying. (Keep in mind that the interviewer's comments are not Pelosi's.)
Jeff
From Newsbusters.org
ROBERTS: Let's bring it back here at home for a moment. There's so many issues on people's minds. This past weekend, and the past week, we've seen a lot of mass shootings.
PELOSI: Yes.
ROBERTS: And the shooter in Pennsylvania, he was stated as saying that part of the reason why he purchased the AK-47, that he feared that under the Obama administration, that you would reinstate the assault weapon ban. And how do you reconcile that with the work that you have to do in trying to stem these types of surges in gun purchases?
PELOSI: Clearly, this is a sick person. So, whatever excuse he uses for his behavior is about that sickness. But, it's important to note that since March 10th to April 5th, 53 people have been the victims of gun violence in our country. Four officers in Oakland, California. But the experience in New York more recent, and even many more people killed. We have to have answers to this. We have to find some level of compromise. Right now, we have the debate in Congress over the District of Columbia, wanting a vote on the floor of the House, something we all want. That's a civil rights issue. And yet, they want to put a gun- a draconian gun bill- attach that to that. I don't think that that should be the price is to pay to have a vote on the floor of the House. But we have to find some middle ground.
ROBERTS: Under the Bush administration, you pretty much said the ball was in their court when it came to reinstating the ban. Now, it's a Democratic President, a Democratic House. So, is the ball in your court where this is concerned?
PELOSI: Yes, it is. And we are just going to have to work together to come to some resolution because the court, in the meantime, in recent months, the Supreme Court has ruled in a very- in a direction that gives more opportunity for people to have guns. We never denied that right. We don't want to take their guns away. We want them registered. We don't want them crossing state lines as this legislation would do in the District of Columbia. We wouldn't tell any other state what to do. But Congress wants to tell the District of Columbia. So, in any event, there's tremendous work ahead on this. And we have to rid the debate of the misconceptions that people have about what gun safety means.
