The House just passed HR 1388, or G.I.V.E. (up your rights)
Alongside mandatory public service, our young people are now going to be sent to indoctrination camps reminiscient of the Nazi Youths and their other Orwellian equivalents. The Thought Police are being bred right in our own backyards, taken from our own homes, "volun-told" to partake in the opression of their own countrymen.
Joe Wilson, our SC 2nd congressional district Representative, along with the other GOP members of our state, thankfully voted No. If there ever was a time to act, it's now, before it's illegal to even converse with the very men and women who represent you. I think we should flood this man's [snail mail]inbox with thank yous for standing up for the constitution, and send as much mail as possible to the others who passed this appalling monster of a bill, telling them how disappointed we are.
Here's Wilson's address, be sure to thank him for fighting the good fight.

annarlutz Groton, CT | Too bad Joe Wilson hasn't been fighting the good fight all along. |

Talbert Black Jr Lexington, SC | Anna, I agree. He surely hasn't been in our court. But as Derek suggests, we need to reward good behavior as much as we need to punish bad behavior. |

unused bagels lexington, SC | Well, if you think about it, most of our republicans who reined in this hogwash are all of a sudden born-again populists. I support their new behavior, even if it's for the wrong reasons. |

"Tomorrow, criticize the neoconservative who soiled the bed, not the liberal who languishes in the filth. While the looting liberal media will paint this demonstration to be a partisan attack from disgruntled mystics and racists, the mooching conservative media will ride the back of grassroots, and distort the message of LIBERTEA our Founders intended. Salt the leech before you kill the tiger." - John Galt, 1957
Just thought this was an interesting conversation-starter. Post comments below, if you feel so inclined.

The news today is full of reports on how protestors are "whining" and how taxes aren't "that bad" and that we should "stop evading taxes and pay them like everybody else", which is pure bologna.
However, another article I just read is again trying to lump groups such as ours with white power/nazi/right-wing terrorist groups. You know, the kind that burn crosses and lynch people and stockpile weapons in their compounds in the deserts of Backyard, USA. These articles make small lip service to the more pacifistic groups, saying briefly
'A DHS official said the department was not trying to squelch free speech by issuing the report. "There is no link between extremists being talked about in that report and conservative political thinkers, activists and voters," the official said.'
Oh, but you did, didn't you? That's like someone says something that hurts your feelings, then when they realize you were offended, they say, "oh, just kidding, man." It doesn't make it go away.
Funny how this article comes out today, tea party day, trying to make it less than important, less than possibly the largest grassroots protest since the Revolution. Let's make sure we make a good impression today, no matter where we protest. People need to know that we are NOT here to hate and kill.

Addendum:
Another way to make tax protestors look goofy, in these days, when FOX news and Republican are dirty words, they attach us to the government's scapegoat, and make it about Obama, dodging the real issue.

annarlutz Groton, CT | Right on!
Ultimately, this protest is not about Obama or Bush, or anything else so narrow. We are standing up to let the Federal Government know that it absolutely must uphold the Constitution by the letter and by the spirit.
It's funny how the "other" side, meaning Obama supporters, do want to turn it to a partisan issue. They want to talk about parties and legislation and who's in power. They call us rednecks and assume we all love Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich.
We can definitely learn from them how NOT to engage. |

Elysiumboy Billericay, United Kingdom | What a complete load of s--t!!! The most threatening terrorist is the domestic terrorist because of their lower profile - no donuts, they have a low profile because they don't do anything beyond stupid, like blowing up two monstrous towers full of people.
So now we're drug dealing racial terrorists and all they did was over spend by a few HUNDRED trillion dollars. I agree with them; we're the dangerous ones.
I've got an evil inclination to go and blow up some popcorn in the microwave whilst screaming "you dirty blackboard." Damn I feel meaner than Osama Bin Laden!!! I might even find a few rocks to crawl under just to complete the job!
Tune in tomorrow when I show how to make the exploding puff cake, a deadly device that brainwashes people into eating potato chips!!! Dan, Dan, Dah! |

AuthenticAuthor , TX | "on what has become an anti-Obama protest movement"
Just sent an e-mail to CNN not to paint us as one-dimensional party idiots, but something tells me they won't give a damn.

Elysiumboy Billericay, United Kingdom | Clever aren't they! Using his name instead of his movement. People personalise to the hard working chap in a strenuous position that's doing the best he can, when the truth is he's a puppet. Do people really think the manipulating asses in this world would leave their well being and wealth in the hands of a bunch of Wallk Street has beens?
Obama will not bring the doom, the puppet masters will! And I don't give a crap where they come from, they are not us! |
Posted 04/16/09
annarlutz Groton, CT | They have to demonize us, if they argue or disagree with us, they will legitimize our movement. |

Elysiumboy Billericay, United Kingdom | They can't argue or disagree with us, Annarlutz because deep down inside they know what's being said is only common sense and that creates a minefield for a television reporter. If, when explained, the subject proves to be fact-based then guys like Ron Paul eat that information for breakfast then spit it out with bear traps all over it from the simple honest truth. We can beat them without raising a fist if support keeps growing for the movement. I am under the impression these tea parties were a greater success than first expected? |

Barack Obama says the economy is looking up! Taken from CNN.com:
"Of course, there are some who argue that the government should stand back and simply let these banks fail -- especially since in many cases it was their bad decisions that helped create the crisis in the first place," he said. "The truth is that a dollar of capital in a bank can actually result in $8 or $10 of loans to families and businesses, a multiplier effect that can ultimately lead to a faster pace of economic growth."
Does he know what he said? Does anyone know what this is supposed to mean? It sounds nice, and I'm sure plenty of drooling TV-heads are thinking... "yeah, money... go Obama...growth..."
That's like if I were to say,
"I know you said that it was a stupid idea to put that flaming bag of poo on my neighbor's lawn. I realize that. Some might say that's even why he's put a restraining order on me. However, you have to keep in mind that one in the hand is worth two in the bush. That allows for relationships to grow."
what the hemorrhaging heck?

unused bagels lexington, SC | Addendum: the only reason the economy is "looking up" is because it was never really that bad to begin with. They just stopped saying "crisis" and replaced it with words like "optimism". |

Robert Zoellick, the World Bank president (and elitist former Fannie Mae Exec), admitted to having plans to circumvent sovereignty of nations and states, in accordance with the New World Order. The Global Government is breathing down our necks, and the masses are welcoming it with flowers and candy.
Meanwhile, Gordon Brown, the British PM, is meeting with China and extending the Postmodern hand of Pax Romana. "Brown will hold talks with Hu Jintao, China's president, following discussions with Barack Obama, amid signs that developing countries see the G20 summit as a chance to impose a new world order and end the era of Anglo-European dominance," and what people don't realize is NWO and Anglo-European dominance are one in the same.
Wake up your friends. The more people know, the better off the world is.
