Hurricane Rita blew me out of Beaumont and dropped me in Sealy. At 35, I’ve finished up a divorce and taken with me seven years of knowledge about married life. I’m better for it. After 14 years, I’ve mastered my career as a nurse and graduated with a Bachelors in Healthcare Administration. Now I’m into computers, movies and the family farm. My father and I raise cattle as a side job. Besides my parents and sister, there’s an extended family that convenes for trips and reconnects over an old fashioned fish-fry or BBQ. My favorite food is Tex-Mex. I definitely like to eat and I even cook. My mother and father thought it was pathetic if a guy couldn’t take care of himself and cook. These last few years, I may have taken it a bit too much to heart and now I hit the gym four times a week to get back to my ideal weight. I’m as comfortable hanging outside as inside. I enjoy group activities: Trivia games, board games, You Don’t Know Jack is a favorite. I enjoy entertaining or just throwing some steaks on the fire.
I became interested in the Campaign for Liberty after I finished my two semesters in economics and finally understood how the Fed and more specifically fractional reserve lending worked. It scared me to death and I fear for our country. As I get older and see the state of our country, I can’t help feeling that we need to return to our constitutional roots. To get back to what the founding fathers first started this country as: a republic.
"We have given you a Republic, if you can keep it." - Benjamin Franklin, when asked by a woman what kind of government had been decided upon by the delegates at the close of the Constitutional Convention.
the only thing is if you make 450 a week now. On the gold standard you would make less. I'm all for it but you would have 2 salary's to choose from just as everything would have 2 prices.
It's true that on the gold standard you would have less physical pieces to hold onto, but their worth would be what mattered. So, if there were two prices on each item, then the price for those using gold would be comparable to what they had to spend. Right? It would have to unless the shop owners wanted to omit those with gold out of their potential customer base. Also, if the dollar is worthless, then most people would welcome the stability of gold and silver coin, so they would not be that rare.
The biggest thing to remember, is that there are certain things we need to live/survive. Everything else is a luxury. If you money goes farther, you are able to appropriate the necessities with less money. This means that it takes less money to live on. When it takes more money for you to live on you have to work more and more to pool enough money out of the money supply get enough to cover your needs. This is why in an inflationary economy, you work harder but end up with less.
