RJ Harris is running for Congress as a Ron Paul Republican in Oklahoma's fourth district.

Here is a message from RJ:

"As a soldier, I pledged my life to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. That very oath, as a young Sergeant in the Army, is what prompted me to read the Constitution for the first time. Since then I have learned that our government is up to a great many things that it should not be and as your Congressperson, I pledge my life, liberty, and sacred honor to do all that I can to restore the rule of law, the liberty of all, and the Sovereignty of Oklahoma.

FOR LIBERTY!

RJ Harris
Norman, OK
OK Dist. 4 Congressional Candidate
Constitutional Conservative"

How much more of our freedom will die before you will do more than just talk?

Today our President saw fit to fire the CEO of a major publicly traded U.S. corporation. Such power usually resides only in the hands of a company's stockholders or a fascist government. And what of GM's stockholders, have they no say in who will run their company?

The President believes that he has this power because GM accepted our bailout money. But then again so has the State of Oklahoma...are we to be next? Has your state accepted the Federal Government's bailout money as well? When our Governors or legislatures refuses to toe- the-line of the President's plans are they to be so easily "asked" to step down as well? In the last six months, we have watched our congress vote for socialism and involuntary servitude. We have watched them pass ex post facto laws and bills of attainder, both of which are strictly forbidden by the Constitution. Now we have watched our President usurp the legitimate voice of stockholders like you and take us on the first steps to fascism while targeting private citizens for speaking out against these tyrannies.

What other liberties will you allow them to take before you answer my call to come out and defend yourselves? Our republic is on its deathbed and the President and the Congress are ripping our constitution apart and the freedom handed down to us by our ancestors is about to fail. We have but one chance to avert this disaster...we must reseat a new Congress filled with Constitutional Conservatives, regardless of party, in 2010 and 2012.

It will take our combined resources to get this message out on every media outlet that will carry it. It will take your donations to overcome the entrenched incumbents and their lobbyist money to get Constitutional Conservatives elected in this next cycle. Your freedom must be defended with your money and your blood and with your lives if necessary. But I will not ask of you that which I will not give. Therefore, I will take the last of my campaign seed money and buy ads on the radio to inform as many Oklahomans as possible about this plan to retake our congress and restore our republic. If we don't fight back now we will wake up slaves in the land our fathers settled.

Please donate what you can to this effort now, before the cause of freedom asks more from you than just money.

RJ Harris is a Constitutional Conservative, Ron Paul Republican, running for Congress in Oklahoma's fourth district.  To get things kicked off, I figured I'd post RJ's bio:

"First and foremost, I am the husband to Jennifer R. (Friend) Harris. She is my wife of eighteen years and the mother of our five children: Mercedes Elaine 14, Georgia Michelle, 8, Wyatt Marshall 3, Peyton Optimus 1, and Braxton Magnus 1. In addition to being a Mother of five, Jennifer is an accomplished professional in her own right having earned her Bachelor's of Accounting from Arizona State University in 1998.

I have served our country on three deployments: one for a peacekeeping mission in Korea and two for the Iraq war. Both of the war deployments were with the Army National Guard. Additionally, I have used my military Air Traffic Control Training to work for the Federal Aviation Administration. Desiring at one point to try my hand in business, I founded a small chain of games/toy stores, which unfortunately did not survive the economic downturn of 2001. In 2006, I decided to return to college to make a civilian career change from aviation to law; although, I do continue my aviation career in the Oklahoma Army National Guard as an Air Traffic Control Platoon Leader for two Platoons in the 1-245th Aviation Regiment. I completed the undergraduate portion of my education in Philosophy this past May at the University of Oklahoma. Currently, I am a First Year Law Student at the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

The primary mission of this campaign is to elect a Constitutional Conservative to represent the people of the 4th Oklahoma Congressional District. Execution of this mission includes an educational effort to make Oklahomans aware of the liberties that are being robbed from them by a central government, which has been operating outside the strictures of the Constitution for far too long. The Republican Party promised to fight to reduce, restrict, and restrain the size and scope of government and I am running to make good on that promise for the people of the Fourth District. Nearly as important, I intend to carry a message to Washington, from the people of Oklahoma, which puts the US Congress on notice that the days of their infringement into our States Rights and Sovereignty are coming to an end.

We need your support!  Whether it is a small donation, spreading the word, posting blogs/bulletins, or volunteering to help with the campaign.

This is a grassroots movement to get another honest, constitutional republican in DC to send Ron Paul some back up.  Please visit RJ's website at www.rjharris2010.com and his MySpace at www.myspace.com/rjharris2010.  Don't forget, with the unfortunate over-size of our federal government, every representative represents you, regardless of your district.

Spread the word, thank you!

I agree on most of your issues, but not all of them. I share your views on abortion. HOWEVER, I believe (as does Dr. Paul) that government should not infringe on people's right to chose. I think it is arrogant on your part to form such a strong opinion based solely on your personal experience. You can't possibly know and understand all personal and specific circumstances that people are faced with. Just because the choice you made was right for you, does not make it the right choice for everyone. I think that if you really are for civil liberties, then you might want to rethink your hypocrisy on this issue. I'm also not quite sure about your statements about the War on Drugs. Caffeine and alcohol are drugs, too. Am I to go to a pharmacy to order a coffee? What about Heroin, Cocaine, and Methamphetamine? What are the medicinal properties of these drugs? You might want to be a little more descriptive and definitive about this issue. As far as Marijuana goes, it was legally grown along with Tobacco at the time the Constitution was written. Tobacco, which is extremely addictive, has no medicinal value whatsoever, unlike Marijuana. In addition, how is making all drugs only available in the avenues that you've described in your issue statement going to affect 'The War on Drugs'? Criminals will still find a way to deal drugs. It seems that the issue is not so cut and dry that added government regulation and restrictions will help. 'The War on Drugs' is such a costly bureaucratic 'war' that has had little if any impact on the sale of illegal narcotics. If anything, it has created an overpopulation in our prisons, encouraged growth in gangs and gang related violence, while it ignores the rehabilitation of addicts. Again, I agree with almost all of your issues. However, these two issues in particular could use a bit more consideration and description. I can't help but find it misleading to label yourself as a 'Ron Paul Republican', when not all of your views on the issues are the same. You are either for Civil Liberties and Individual Freedom, or you are not. You are either a servant to the public or serving yourself. This is just my observation. You may also want to hire a new proofreader for your website. (Border, not Boarder) While this may seem like a harsh critique, I do agree that there needs to be a cleansing of Washington Politicians and more individuals serving the people who share Dr. Paul's views and intellect. Best of luck.

Jessbear,

Please re-read your copy of the Constitution...people do not have the power to murder others. The 5th amendment clearly states that no person shall be deprived of their life without due process. This is an enumerated right as compared to a woman's "right" of choice which is not enumerated and therefore protected by the ninth amendment. However, two principles block the choice of infanticide. The first is that when anyone infringes upon the rights of another they lose their right as a sovereign and right to protection from the body politic...murder is the infringement of the child's right to life. Second, the mother cannot exercise her right of choice without affording the child his/her due process. Since an unborn child can not be guilty of a crime then there is no due process sufficient for a legal deprivation of his/her life. My opinion is not based on merely my own life choice, but upon the solid bedrock of the Constitution. As well, I will not be intimidated by you into silence as it is my first amendment right to convince others not to commit murder even if our laws currently allow that behavior. My exercise of this right is no different than the abolitionists of the 1800s who encouraged the emancipation of the slaves even when the Southern apologists were arguing that to do so was to advocate the infringement of the slave owners property rights. Clearly there is an order of merit emerging whereby life trumps liberty, and liberty trumps property. But then again, that is the order in which the founders listed them in the Declaration of Independence so they must have realized this order of merit also.

A closer reading of my position on the war on drugs reveals that I argue, as Ron Paul does, not for the federal legalization of drugs, but for the cessation of federal infringement into the states right to determine the legality or illegality of drug manufacture, sale, and use. What this means to liberty minded individuals such as you is that there remains hope that one of the fifty states might allow you to buy and use pot. However, since the 10th amendment reserves to the states and to the people all power not vested in the Congress through the Constitution...then the other 49 would be completely within their right to continue control dangerous substances. But even if you lived in one of those 49, you could campaign to get new laws passed and legislators elected that would agree with you. Such action is not possible now and I would change that. Unfortunately, while this is clearly implicit in the issue position I posted, it seems to have escaped your notice.

Hypocrisy is the advocating of one behavior, while performing another which is counter the one advocated. I did not advocate life and then murder my children...nor do I advocate making one drug illegal while allowing others that are beneficial. Thus, to call me a hypocrite is not only unfair, but also factually incorrect.

You would really have me fire someone because she missed "boarder" on the proof. Man, is my proofreader glad she does not work for you!

Lastly, I do not have to be Ron Paul's twin to be a Ron Paul Republican...after all you seem to think of yourself as a Ron Paul supporter and yet you don't agree with his clear, articulated, and unabashed position against abortion. But I won't hold that against you because the greatest compact in history, the Constitution, only required 75 % agreement:)

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Oklahoma City Radio Talk Show Host, Mark Shannon, reportedly calls a two-time Iraq War Veteran a "Shaven-Headed Nazi" on KTOK's Mark Shannon Show.

Oklahoma- July 7, 2009 -  Mark Shannon, Radio Talk Show Host, reportedly referred to a two-time Iraq War veteran and U.S. Congressional Candidate, RJ Harris, as a "Shaven-Headed Nazi" on his Monday talk show airing between 4pm- 7pm weekly.  He also reportedly accused Harris of accosting attendees at the Oklahoma City Tea Party event by handing out literature not relevant to a congressional campaign.  Mr. Harris has provided the following statement regarding this matter:

"I am shocked and appalled that any Oklahoman would have such a low opinion of the veterans required to close-crop their hair for service in Iraq, let alone a radio talk show host on a respectable news station.  Moreover, my campaign has received no negative commentary either at the tea party event or since that justifies Shannon as classifying our campaign literature distribution efforts as "accosting" or anything other than the distribution of legitimate congressional campaign handbills.  Much to the contrary my campaign has received overwhelmingly positive feedback for being one of the only politicians that showed up to hear the demands of the people and answer their vetting questionsI fully appreciate the 1st Amendment right of others to air their opinions but have little tolerance for libel, slander, or defamation."

Due to service obligations with the Army National Guard, Harris will be out of the state for the next three weeks.  Any questions on this matter can be directed to Harris's campaign manager Jonathan Gibbons 405-881-0951.

Mark Shannon is a radio host on the KTOK 1000 Oklahoma City http://www.ktok.com

"To my friends that never came home and those who died for freedom through the ages of this Republic, you are not forgotten. The Socialism, Communism and fascism you fought against on the battlefields have wormed their way past our outer defenses. Yet thankfully, there are still some left who would give their last full measure, if that is what it takes, to preserve what you so gallantly sacrificed your lives to protect for us all...our freedom, liberty and this great Constitutional Republic. Today we say 'thank you' and pledge to you that we will carry on."
