Dr. Giraldi's article has many valid points.True, the WAR ON TERROR  was an opportune event to purloin individual liberties.As such, any disaster is an opportunity to grow the federal power structure. The current recession is just the latest. Will Congress nationalize the banking industry? The natural governmental impulse is to try, certainly. The next time disaster occurs,listen as politicians whistle the same old tune;" We need a govt. program that.....". It is simply code for more government control at the expense of freedom.It is a siren song hard to ignore.

Where Giraldi misses his mark,however, is ignoring the fact that the overwhelming number of terrorist attacks are perpetrated by Muslims. Try to remember the last time innocent people were blown up by Baptists, Catholics, HIndus, or any non-Islamic sect,for that matter.To say that terrorists are from all walks of life gets in the way of identifying who the true culprits are.

Not to mention the various Suicide-bombers, contrary to popular belief, are committed by the marxist-terrorist group the *Tamil Tigers* (don't believe me? I suggest you therefore read Ron Pauls book "Manifesto . . ." as well as the his book which is solely devoted to Foreign Policy (forgot the title of it, but I have it and have read 75% of it [plus, I completely read from beginning to end, the Manifesto book]). Furthermore, what about bombings perpetuated by the Real IRA, Quebec Separatist group, ETA, PKK/KADEK, the Shining Path, Christian/Marxist Middle Eastern Groups in the Middle East (in this case, the Arab World [for instance a UofM Professor who studied 100 Bombings in Lebanon from 1982 to 1992 {this was on UofM Radio} researched and concluded that of the 100 Bombings, only 8 of them were commited by Muslims, meaning that the rest were perpetrated by Non-Muslims]), Jewish Fundamentalist groups (particularly far-right Militant Settler gourps in Israel -- whether in the Occupied-Territories or in Israel proper [usually targeting Palestinians]), the Greek Terrorist Group November 17th. The False-Flag/Black-Op's "Terror bombings" (in this case by the US Government Agencies and Military) known as *Pearl Harbor* and the explosion/bombing of the the ship the U.S.S. Luistaina of the shore of Cuba, respectively. Bombings by Militant Baptist/Evangelical Pro-Life Groups against Planned Parenthood and especially Abortion Clinics (not to mention Doctors who assist/participate in Abortions), the False-Flag/Black-Op fire-bombing of the Reichstag (the German Parliament building) in the early 1920's by the NAZI's (who successfully were able to sell the notion and dupe the public into thinking that the Communists were the one responsible for the carrying it out of it), oh and the infamous Haymarket Square bombing in the 1880's-US (can't remember where it took place, but it was either in Chicago, IL or New York City, NY).
