Religious, family man who is worried that America has strayed from the Founding Fathers', God-inspired, constitutional foundation and she is instead treading down the path of tyranny.  This evil plan will be stopped.

I just sent off a message to our California senators about the recent message from C4L regarding the Senate's attempt to water down S 604 .  Feel free to copy portions or all of my message to send one for yourself to the senators as well.  (John Tate: I did borrow a portion of your C4L message on this subject to include in my message.  Hope you don't mind.  Credit is all yours...)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------

Senator _____________,

Please do not accept Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR) and Bob Corker (R-TN) "Federal Reserve Accountability Act," which is only a watered-down bill aimed at sabotaging a true Federal Reserve Audit which is only possible by S 604, "The Federal Reserve Sunshine Act."

While language in this bill would permit a limited audit of the Fed's actions in the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and similar high profile bailouts, it would not allow an audit to review the Fed's inflation of the money supply or its agreements with foreign central banks and governments, among other shortcomings.

While the citizens of this country are required by law to give an accounting of every penny they come in contact with, the Federal Reserve has never been held to the same standard. During this time of extreme economic crisis, "We the People" deserve an accounting of where our money is going (especially considering how much waste and benefit is going to Wall Street, the Big Bankers, and Big Business).

So please, support the only true legislation that would allow for a thorough audit of the Federal Reserve, S 604.  Support a stand-alone vote of this bill on its own merits without lumping into some 1000-page economic bill.

Currently there are 30 co-sponsors for this legislation, and it is enjoying bi-partisan support.  Likewise, the House's related legislation (HR 1207) is bi-partisan and is now co-sponsored by well over half of the members (304 to be exact).  Your efforts in supporting this important legislation would go a long way in proving to your constituents that you not only hold the Federal Reserve to the same standard that all Americans abide by, but also demonstrate that you believe in TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY in government. Anything less than support for this resolution suggests that you are in favor of this highly secretive bank's closed-door policy, collusion between the Fed and Treasury Department, back room deals with foreign entities and a continued lack of accountability to "We the People". We pay all of government's bills; we have a right to know where our money is going.

I recently received a very good suggestion regarding ways we can help ensure HR 1207 get through congress.  This message was sent to me by a fellow C4L member in Northern CA ([[mybug67]]) in which he/she states:

Ron Paul's legislation HR 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act, is gaining support. HR 1207 has real potential to pass-- BUT only if we educate and rally the people to support it and get our congress animals to put it to vote and pass it.  I can't stress enough the importance of this.

HR 1207 will open the Fed to transparency, which it has not had since its creation. We must not miss this opportunity.

It is now in the House Committee on Financial Services. This is THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP in this legislation!! If it doesn't get out of committee it will not come out to vote!! There are 71 members on this committee and 8 of them are from California, 7 are in the So Cal/LA area!!!

We need to let them know that we want them to allow full house consideration of HR 1207 so it can move forward, we need them to support this. Now is the time. We especially need public outreach here in California because 10% of the committee members are here in California, -- we can make a difference.

Thank you for the great, kind, and well-received suggestion mybug.

According to mybug, the 7 committee members in SoCal, along with their phone numbers, are (none of which have cosponsored HR 1207 yet):

1.         Joe Baca - (909)885-BACA(2222) and (202)225-6161

2.         John Campbell - (949) 756-2244 and (202) 225-5611

3.         Kevin McCarthy - (805) 461-1034, (661) 327-3611, and (202) 225-2915

4.         Gary Miller - 714-257-1142, 949-470-8484, and 202-225-3201

5.         Edward Royce - (714) 744-4130 and (202) 225-4111

6.         Brad Sherman - (818) 501-9200 and (202) 225-5911

7.         Maxine Waters - (323) 757-8900, (310) 642-4610, and (202) 225-2201

I urge all of you to spread the word about this call to action to all liberty minded individuals far and wide (especially liberty lovers in these congressmans' districts and those in SoCal in general).  Call/write/email or visit these committee members' offices ASAP.  Let them know they need to support HR 1207. If you live in their district, let them know that too.  And for those of us who are not represented by any of the above, please continue hammering your congressman about HR 1207!

HR 1207 has more than 100 cosponsors - let's do all we can to push that number up fast.

Poll: Will you contact as many Financial Services Committee members as possible about HR 1207?

Of Course. The Spirit of '76 burns within me.
I'll try my best (A Patriot in training).
If I have time (aahhh... the joys of apathy).
Now way (A modern day Tory)!

Just thought it would be a good idea to get a blog going to share some thoughts about yesterday's Tea Party events in our district.  I have not seen anyone in our district post one yet so here does mine.

I was not able to stay long at the Midway Dr, San Diego Tea Party but there was a good size group present.  Not sure how many of you may have been there either.  I was totally unprepared for the event.  I intend to be much better prepared next time.

Because I am in the dark on yesterday's events (from the C4L perspective) I would like us to share how it went for eveyone.  Some noteworthy subject to discuss are: Did you participate?  Where did you participate?  What were the approximate total numbers there?  How many C4L members were there?  Was C4L material distributed?  How was the C4L material received?  Did we have many "Audit the Fed" signs?  What could C4L in the 51st District do better next time (be specific).  Let us all know.

I would agree that you should become a Local Coordinator. While I am in your district, I am two hours away. I would be very interested in working with you, but I do feel the need for one in your area.

Many C4L members are combining forces with the Tea Party movement across the country. Some C4L member blogs explain that this movement can be used to spread the C4L message and potentially attract new members.  The Tea Party movement is now moving to a nationwide protest to demonstrate against income tax on April 15.  According to the website (http://taxdayteaparty.com), "The Tea Party effort is just a small piece of a much larger movement aimed at restoring the basic free-market principles our country was built on. The Constitution, for the most part, is being ignored by our current government and we intend on working together to correct the problem."  This sounds awfully close to the principles promoted by C4L and Ron Paul to me!

Why don't we join the effort?  Is it that many of these folks are conservative Republicans?  We don't have to agree with all of their views but we should unite with anyone in righteous causes to promote truth and liberty.  Besides, this is a grass roots effort so we can keep the protests as libertarian as possible if we help organize the events in our areas.  This is basically what our own Ron Paul tried to do by getting all third party presidential candidates to rally together based on a set of principles (four to be exact - http://www.ronpaul.com/2008-09-10/paul-baldwin-mccinney-nader-we-agree/)?  In addition, did not Ron Paul ultimately run for president as a Republican candidate?  We should follow his lead and team up with those movements who share some of our own values, such as the Tea Party movement.  The values we share with them are the Constitution and free markets!  At the same time, we can increase awareness of C4L, add to C4L numbers, and promote the common values of the C4L/Tea Party movements.

I see C4L joining forces with the Tea Party movement as a win-win situation: at best we recruit many Tea Party members into C4L and at worst we help increase awareness of C4L, the Constitution, free markets and the corrupt tax system.

The upcoming San Diego Tea Party demonstration is scheduled for 11 am - noon, April 11, 2009 (Saturday) at Spanish Landing Park, (by the San Diego harbor, next to the airport).

As for April 15th, the San Diego Tea Party demonstrations will be held at three different post offices from 6 PM to midnight:

•1)      Sports Arena Midway: 2535 Midway, San Diego, CA 92110

•2)      El Cajon: 401 W. Lexington Ave., El Cajon, CA 92020

•3)      North County: 11251 Rancho Carmel Dr., San Diego, CA 92128

For more information check out http://www.socaltaxrevoltcoalition.org/.

We have very little time to go until then so no time to wait.  We need to rally as many people as possible to these events and bring C4L materials for distribution.

Poll: How will you participate in the upcoming Tea Parties?

C4L Activist - C4L recruiting, material distribution and attending
Interested Participant - Attending and inviting others
Participant - Attending
?? - Not paticipating.

Below is a message I have sent to Rep. Bob Filner (CA-51st).  I recommend everyone send a similar message and call their congressman in order to prevent an unelected foriegn power from controlling our financial system (feel free to copy or edit the message for yourself).  For more details on this subject, go to http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,512070,00.html and/or
http://www.newsmax.com/insidecover/bachmann_global_currency/2009/03/26/196596.ht
ml
Read the resolution and summary yourself at http://thomas.loc.gov/.  There, you will also notice that our own Dr. Paul was one of the first co-sponsors!  He sure is on top of things.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------

Congressman Filner:

I call on you to co-sponsor Representative Bachmann's H.J. Resolution 41 which will stop any attempt from foreign powers to control U.S currency by prohibiting the president of the United States from concocting any deal to validate a non-U.S. currency.

Due to the anticipated effects that the out of control and unconstitutional spending of both the Bush and Obama administrations will have on the U.S. dollar, Russia, China, South Africa, Brazil, India and other foreign governments are now suggesting a new expansion of the International Monetary Fund in order to replace the dollar as the standard of exchange.  When asked about his opinion on this issue, Secretary Geithner initially rejected it but later stated that the administration was "quite open" to the idea.

Due to the global pressure and the ambiguity of the Obama administration on this issue, I urge you to co-sponsor Representative Bachmann's H.J. Resolution 41.

This is not about Republican vs. Democrats; it's about the financial freedom and security of Americans.  The U.S. has enough economic troubles on its plate as it is; we don't need to add to the pile.

Poll: Will you contact you congressman about this issue??

Way ahead of you on this one!
Of course. I'm a freedom fighter!
Maybe. If I have time. By the way, what's on TV tonight?
No way! I am all for a tyrnannical world government.
