dxnagel's weblog
Apparently one of my blogs was taken off the site. Probably for the best. Can't let an angry voice taint the cause.

I used to smoke Djarum Blacks. They were tasty clove cigarettes that I could enjoy in moderation with my friends, burn off stress, and waste 10 useless minutes in my day.
Thanks to Congress, those cigarettes are now banned under the guise that they will "prevent children from smoking". Their "effort" has led me to try other available cigarettes which are putting me on a fast track to addiction. I don't even like them, but what else am I to do with a 5-10 minute break?
Little-known fact about the military: it runs on caffeine and nicotine. Obama recently said the "sin tax" was worth exploring. Revolts happen when you shit on the military.
More importantly, I would like to know why the FDA has the audacity to ban flavored cigarettes, but not regular ones. As though the flavors are the real problem! That's akin to banning schnaps and leaving the everclear. I can't wait to go back to Iraq so I can enjoy cloves again, and at a third the price they were before the ban.
JOIN THE MILITARY. SEE THE WORLD. SMOKE AGAIN!

rightsman Las Vegas,, NV | Welcome to Soetoroland, my friend. I'm sure that you can find your smokes on the black market. Whenever something is banned, it invariably puts money in the coffers of the government, and the black market gets a new product, and of course, the po-lice can shake down a few more citizens.
Thank you,

Call me radical or crazy, but there is no forseeable end to the taking that the government will lay upon us. There is no end to blind eyes and deaf ears the media will turn to those who seek liberty. Worse yet, there are few who are willing to truly stand up and FIGHT for freedom. What good is all the talk of liberty when people will easily throw it away? We are going to be cast aside and ignored until we speak with a voice that cannot be ignored. We'll see who listens when the big media building are laying in ruins at the hands of true patriots. We need to exercise our right to overthrow the heavy and corrupt government while we still have the means to do so. If we wait too long they will have taken everything we have and we will have nothing left to fight with.
But I digress. The American People made it perfectly clear that they have no interest in the Constitution, freedom, or their own destiny. Why should I fight for the millions of people in the country if they will just come back to the teet of the treasury, begging for handouts to make up for their poor decisions?

Dissenting Youth phoenix, AZ | I am ready, people need to wake up, to turn off their television sets, to stop reading these socialist rags we call newspapers...but more than anything else, people need to get angry. |

I received my absentee ballot in the mail not too long ago. As I'm sure most people on this page are going to do, I followed my conscience and wrote in Dr. Paul's name. But instead of hearing friends say "good job for taking a stand" or "I'm glad you are supporting the constitution", I hear jeers akin to rooting for the losing team during the Superbowl. Have the people of this country become so diluted by TV shows and celebrity that they cannot make a decent choice anymore? Must everything be based on whether they voted for the "winning team"? I voted for something I believe in, not a celebrity that has the same "party affiliation". I'm sure in a few weeks I'll hear something along the lines of "hey, how 'bout that election!" But the losing team is going to be the people of the United States of America who sold out their ethics for the "winning team".

Curtis Kennewick, WA | We now have two candidates who are running on slogans. In McCain's case he is going to 'reform government" and I have sifted through his entire legislative history and cannot find where he has tried to do anything about political corruption. In Obama's case he going to bring about "change" Yet when I listen to him I hear a person who is going to comtinue taking us down the road to fascism. Neither one of the candidates are going to work to repeal the Military Commissions Act, FISA, Patriot Act, The centralized power of the Department of Homeland Security. Etc. Ask your friends this, if Mother Teresa, Adolph Hitler, and Joseph Stalin was running for president and they knew that the only two that could win the election were Hitler or Stalin, would they still "not vote" for Mother Teresa. It sounds to me like your friends are very uninformed! |

Dissenting Youth phoenix, AZ | Thank you sir, for saying what I've been thinking for so long. No vote is ever wasted, for each vote says to the governors, "This is where I stand.". The idea of a "wasted vote" is not only ludicrous but an affront to the ideals of Democracy. |
