Most of you guys probably already know this tool, I started using it after reading some people linking it when talking about certain pieces of legislation. I took 5 minutes to look at current legislation that was introduced today and yesterday. All of these bills are currently in committee, but i was amazed by the sheer number. No wonder congress doesn't do anything, their to busy dealing with shit they shouldn't have too. If they would just stick with their constitutional powers, our lives and their jobs would be alot easier. Here is just a small sample of some of the bills i found
H. Con. Res. 37:
Authorizing the use of the Capitol Grounds for the Greater Washington Soap Box Derby
S. 387:
A bill to designate the United States courthouse located at 211 South Court Street, Rockford, Illinois, as the "Stanley J. Roszkowski United States Courthouse".
H. Con. Res. 39:
Authorizing the use of the Capitol Grounds for the District of Columbia Special Olympics Law...
H.R. 858:
To prohibit the manufacture, marketing, sale, or shipment in interstate commerce of products designed to assist in defrauding a drug test.
H. Res. 116:
Expressing support for the designation of February 8, 2010, as "Boy Scouts of America Day", in celebration of the Nation's largest youth scouting organization's 100th anniversary.
H. Res. 128:
Honoring Miami University for its 200 years of commitment to extraordinary higher education
H. Res. 129:
A simple resolution (H.Res. or S.Res.) like this one in the U.S. Congress is a legislative proposal that does not require the approval of the other
Recognizing the historical significance of the Merced Assembly Center to the Nation and the importance of establishing an appropriate memorial at that site to serve as a place for remembering the hardships endured by Japanese Americans, so that the United States remains vigilant in protecting our Nation's core values of equality, due process of law, justice, and fundamental fairness.
H. Res. 132:
Honoring the life and memory of the Chiricahua Apache leader Goyathlay or Goyaale, also known as Geronimo, and recognizing the 100th anniversary of his death on February 17, 2009, as a time of reflection and the commencement of a "Healing" for all Apache people.
In my opinion, congress has better things to do then honor individuals, institutions, universities and what not. I appreciate these organizations contributions to society, but congress doesn't need to. Congress needs to work and focus on more important legislation like the bill Ron Paul introduced to repeal the Fed Reserve.

I know it's Mitt Romney, and I know he promotes spending. But he is right in the fact that all this bill will do is stimulate goverment. It will just make this already massive dead weight on our shoulders even bigger,

My university blocks You-Tube and I live on campus so i am unable to watch the video with some politician explaining HR 645.
I just want to know how they explain the use and purpose of use number 4.
(b) Purpose of National Emergency Centers- The purpose of a national emergency center shall be to use existing infrastructure--
(1) to provide temporary housing, medical, and humanitarian assistance to individuals and families dislocated due to an emergency or major disaster;
(2) to provide centralized locations for the purposes of training and ensuring the coordination of Federal, State, and local first responders;
(3) to provide centralized locations to improve the coordination of preparedness, response, and recovery efforts of government, private, and not-for-profit entities and faith-based organizations; and
(4) to meet other appropriate needs, as determined by the Secretary of Homeland Security.
Building these massive areas on current military bases will just increase the Active Regular Militaries "role" in disaster relief. Being in the military myself, I know they sometimes have a hard time keeping living establishments up to date at some bases for all military personal, married and single. Now they are expected to have civilians, non military dependants, living on the bases, and not just any civilians, civilians who just suffered a tramautic experience. It just looks like more meshing of active military with more civil support.
I don't mind it when states use their National Guard units to support and help their state. Even though guys are trained to kill like any soldier, they are also from those areas.
I don't know, i feel im just rambling at this point. Either way, keep the Military away from civil matters. Thats what police and first responders are for.

 Fu Manchu Belleville, MI | Your university blocks youtube? What communistic country are you living in? Oh wait...
Personally to me, it sounds like the crap is about to hit the fan, and we need to be ready when it does. |

 Felegund Jonesville, KY | THis stuff is common university practice, far as I can tell. THe PR reps at my school have to certify every article the college paper publishes. And Paul Volcker is a trustee of the place to boot, so it's going to be a leftist paper for a while. |
