Some people have to see to believe....for those people show them this.  My only complaint is that it deals with numbers so large I can't really comprehend.  I'm like Marty McFly when I'm told I need 1.21 Gigawatts to get home.

I received a letter and a survey from the GOP and I'm sure if you are a republican you've received the same (although I am now a registered Libertarian and I assume they didn't get the memo)

So for you my fellow C4Lers:

Dear Michael Steele,

I know you probably don't read these and this will get thrown out once whoever opens this realizes I have not enclosed the survey nor have I donated any monies to the Republican Party.  But I honestly do hope that you read it as the Republican Party does need saving and you are in the position to redirect the ship.

             &n
bsp;  The first thing I did upon opening the envelope is to read the letter and I must point out some things that struck me as odd.  First in the 5th paragraph or line, you said: "They" want you to give up, desert your party and walk away from your conservative principles.   I feel I need to point out Mr. Steele that it is the GOP who walked away from the conservative principles.  In the previous eight years with the republicans in power I saw the federal government grow to levels that would have made Barry Goldwater weep, and would of made Thomas Jefferson want to start a new revolution.  The GOP led this country to be the tyrants our own country fought 233 years ago.

             &n
bsp;  Not too far down you wrote: "Our ideals remain sound and our goals remain worthy".  What is the GOP's goal?...to me it seems that the republican's want Obama to fail so that they can gain power again and send forgein and domestic spending through the roof.  I'm sure I don't need to remind you that President George W. Bush agreed to the 1st bank bailouts, going on the fear that it was to protect us.  Much of the same

Strategies used to get us into an unnecessary, unconstitutional, and costly war with Iraq; a country that had nothing to do with September 11th 2001.  But your party played on the fear of the public much like you are doing with this letter and survey.   To get people to fear Obama and democrats control of Washington is something that is worth fearing but the GOP is not the solution.  They are no longer the "conservative" option.  I'm sorry sir but you've lost the right to claim that after the last 8 years.

At the top of page three you wrote:  ".....most expensive expansion of our federal government in history" .  This makes me laugh, you make it sound like history can go back so long but the Republican Party and President Bush broke those records a short 9 months prior.  It's not like we are talking about a record that has stood for centuries or even decades.  Obama is spending more than you could even spend and you can't believe it.

I started to complete your survey and then stopped because you give no real conservative solutions, for example you talk about public education but again your party started No Child Left Behind an act that has grown this federal education department and you talk nothing of the fact that public schools as a whole are unconstitutional, or that you took away powers from the states to improve their own schools.  Nor did you mention that this increase to the spending has done nothing to strengthen the intellect of our younger generations but has taught them how to study and take standardized test.

I only write you this not because I think you will listen, but because I think if you haven't noticed yet then it needs to be very spelled out for you.  You are losing your conservative base, the parties foreign policy is a mess.  The party represents nothing that could even remotely be mistaken as fiscal conservatism.  Like the democratic party you support Keynesian economics, you've made no effort while you held power to question the Federal Reserve and its printing presses that created the housing market and the recession we are currently experiencing.  All you have now is the ability to count on the short term memory of the public to support you once again while you pretend that once in power you will help shrink this ever growing government.  But your party set up this mess, and because of that, this once republican card carrying citizen is now a registered Libertarian and would only return to the Republican Party to help support conservative constitutional idealist like Ron Paul.  Ron Paul and others like him are the only hope for your party, and I suggest that you embrace his following instead of trying to separate yourselves from them.

Signed,

War  is a Racket

As the Sarah Palin show begins this week, I wonder when the Republican Party will realize that Ron Paul already has a national(international) following and database in place.
Her endorsement with Judge Napolitano as vice-president could consolidate the tea party groups. To just keep dreaming, throw in Lou Dobbs in the mix and see what then evolves.

545 vs 300,000,000,000

EVERY  CITIZEN NEEDS TO READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS  SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE.  READ IT  AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT  OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.

Charley  Reese has been a journalist for 49 years.

545  PEOPLE
By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world  who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever  wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if  all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have  inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget.  The president does.

You and I don't have the  Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of  Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress  does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You  and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve  Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one  president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human  beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally,  and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague  this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve  Board because that problem was created by the  Congress.   In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty  to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central  bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a  sound reason.. They have no legal authority.  They have no  ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one  cotton-pickingthing.   I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash.  The  politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what  the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility  to determine  how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy  convincing you that what they did is not their fault.    They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What  separates a politician from a normal human being is an  excessive amount of gall.   No normal  human being would have the gall of a  Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating  deficits..   The president can only propose a budget.    He cannot force the Congress to accept  it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the  land, gives sole responsibility to the House of  Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes.   Who is the speaker of the House?    Nancy Pelosi.  She is  the leader of the majority party.  She and  fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want.  If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if  they agree  to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can  not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of  incompetence and irresponsibility.   I can't think of a  single domestic problem  that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.  When you fully  grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal  government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to  exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it  unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in  the red ..

If the Army & Marines are in  IRAQ ,  it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not  receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available  to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no  insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift  the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can  abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to  regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can  take this power.   Above all, do not let them con you into  the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the  economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing  what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people, and they  alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the  power.

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the  people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the  gumption to manage their own employees.

We should vote all of  them out of office and clean up their mess!

What you do with this article now that you have  read it.......... Is up to you.

           STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.  We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world.

I had this article forwarded to me and before I forwarded it on I added the following:

Ron Paul seems to be one of the only politicians I've found with principled, unwavering constitutional ideals.   One of the biggest problems that this article touched on is the Federal Reserve.  Ron Paul has created a bill H.R. 1207 to audit the Federal Reserve.  Right now Congress is not allowed to find out where our money is being spent the Federal Reserve is not a governmental branch it is a private bank, controlled by private bankers that secretly control the currently flow and interest rate of this nation.  They are the ones that will print more money to support Obama's hybrid-health care system.  Regardless of if you believe we should have the government provide health care to everyone the fact is WE CAN'T AFFORD IT!!!  But this "little" problem is not a problem for politicians in Washington as long as the Federal Reserve is allowed to continually print money out of thin air.  Inflation is not a good thing, and hyper-inflation is a disastrous thing.

I put a hyper link to Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty, a grass roots organization that started shortly after the most resent presidential campaign.  On the web site you can sign a petition requesting congress to support H.R. 1207 and audit the Federal Reserve.

And for my blue, Obama loving friends I would have you think about what Obama promised in his campaign which was transparency in Washington.  That's all Auditing the Federal Reserve is, allowing Congress to know what this secret bank is leading this country into.  So supporting HR 1207 is supporting Obama's promise for transparency in government.

On the web site you can find (if you don't already know) who your representative is in the House, as well as your two senators (which I hope you know already.)

These articles are nice to read, but don't feel like you can't do ANYTHING, like the article say's these public service men and women in Washington work for US!  Not the other way around, Obama promised "Change" but Gandhi said to "Be the change you seek in the world."

Sorry for the rant but this stuff gets me going.

I agree that we the people should vote them all out, and it is good to place a specific number to our pain, but I also have to say that it is not coincidence that all these taxes exist and the federal reserve has only existed for 100 years. They are also to blame, but that is what happens in a representative republic, the few are voted on to rule the many, because it is logic, but not when the power of representation is destroyed. The congress went against the people when they passed the bail out bill despite the overwhelming majority opposed to it.

This is a good presentation of the global predicament.
The exits from this situation are very few. The suggestion at the end of the article is that only way out of this is a long slow process of digging out from under the mountains of US debt.

But no such policy is in view in the United States. Indeed, the policy in the US is to increase spending and debt.

A future generation of persons may come along eventually which has not benefitted, in their view, from all this debt and simply repudiates it.

The end game must either be hyperinflation or the outright and immediate repudiation of US debt. The one thing of which we may be assured, the US government will not permit the return of production to the US as that would actually begin to raise the standard of living of Americans and reduce their dependence on government services.

Absolutely brilliant. All the more reason to reduce the size of government.
