Dear Representative Brown, Central Banking is one of the primary tenets of Communism. For that reason, I am writing you today to express my strong support, and to urge yours, of the House Bill HR 833, the Federal Reserve Abolition Act. This could be the single most needed reform of the 111th Congress. I believe it is time for Congress (and especially Republicans) to stand up and say NO to the funding of wasteful spending by the Fed, which allows the printing of paper money out of thin air. The Federal Reserve has not acted in the best interest of us taxpayers, but rather has manipulated interest rates for the benefit of a few. In fact, every single economic slowdown since the Great Depression can be traced to Federal Reserve policy. The Federal Reserve goes unchecked in its activities and apparently operates outside of the Law, as it is subject to no audit process. No institution, be it private or public, that is as powerful and influential as the Federal Reserve, should operate in this capacity. The Constitution gives YOU, the Congress, power over our monetary system and does not allow you to delegate that authority. Therefore, the mere existence of the Federal Reserve is Unconstitutional and needs to be ended. Every American, whether they are rich, poor, conservative, liberal, or independent has a vested interest in a stable monetary policy and sound currency for our country. Please consider joining the courageous effort to bring our money back into solvency by eliminating the Federal Reserve and going back to the Gold Standard. I would be proud to support you in any way I can to do this and I will be urging my family, friends, and anyone who will hear me to support this bill and strongly express that support. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Dear Representative Brown, In any dire national security situation a citizen militia is the last line of defense for the United States. It is for this reason that I urge you to oppose House Resolution H.R. 45: Blair Holt's Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009. Such a law would severely diminish U.S. citizens rights under the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, the Constitution which you pledge to uphold and defend every time you are sworn in as a U.S. Representative. As you may know, the Founders had much to say about he right to bear arms. Patrick Henry, 1775: "They tell us that we are weak -- unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Three million people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us." Patrick Henry: "Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined. The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able may have a gun." Thomas Paine, writing to religious pacifists in 1775: "The supposed quietude of a good man allures the ruffian; while on the other hand, arms like laws discourage and keep the invader and the plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. The balance of power is the scale of peace. The same balance would be preserved were all the world destitute of arms, for all would be alike; but since some will not, others dare not lay them aside. Horrid mischief would ensue were one half the world deprived of the use of them; the weak would become a prey to the strong." Samuel Adams: "Among the natural rights of the colonists are these: first, a right to life, secondly to liberty, thirdly to property; together with the right to defend them in the best manner they can." John Adams: "Arms in the hands of the citizens may be used at individual discretion for the defense of the country, the overthrow of tyranny or private self-defense." Thomas Jefferson: "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." Thomas Jefferson, in an early draft of the Virginia constitution: "No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms in his own lands." Please sir, acknowledge your pledge to defend the rights of citizens under the 2nd Amendment and oppose this diminishment of our rights.

Sorry for the wall of text. The paragraphs show when I edit my blog, but go away when I publish.

Silver,

This is an issue that happens a bit from time to time.

The way to fix the "wall-o-text" is to go to your dashboard then select Weblog. In the list of entries, you need to click the "edit" wording beside this entry. That form will actually allow you to fix the paragraph much better than the entry form.

As a note, I save a draft version or quickly switch over to the edit form with every post because of the wall-o-text problem.

Hope this helps,
DSC

My friend pointed this out to me. Very interesting to read that the man who first came up with global warming (note: it was, in fact, not Al Gore) later spoke out against it.

Great article. Thanks for the link.

Despite all of the mounting evidence against global warming, though, I predict that the government will continue to use it to assert more control over us.

They most likely will, but I think a lot of people are starting to wise up about it and the more they do the more stupid the bureaucrats will look.
