I Live in Wrigleyville and work in Riverwoods for a publishing company called CCH in the Tax and Accounting Publishing division. I was born in western New York but grew up in the Chicago suburbs of Naperville and Aurora. I attended Waubonsie Valley High School, Illinois State University (Bachelors in Mass Communication) and DeVry, Addison campus (Bachelors in Telecommunication Management). I currently work as a Project Manager for CCH and recently helped deliver the industry leading Tax, Accounting and Legal research platform known as IntelliConnect.
I discovered Ron Paul while watching the presidential debates and found that his true Conservative message resonated with me. I decided to learn more about Ron Paul by reading his Texas Straight talk posts and his book Revolution: a Manifesto. Dr. Paul's book made me change my thinking about Republican politics and it was his other book A Foreign Policy of Freedom that changed my mind about the Iraq war and our foreign policy of empire building. Like Dr. Paul, I believe the Republican party has lost its way so I joined the Campaign for Liberty in October because I believe in the platform Dr. Paul stands for and want to dedicate my time to reforming the party by supporting candidates who share a belief in Personal Liberty, upholding the Constitution, a Monetary Policy based on sound money, a Foreign Policy that promotes freedom and a smaller Federal Government.

Cook County Campaign For Liberty member David Ratowitz was on Fox's Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano today discussing the chances Republicans and Liberty candidates have in the 5th district during the 2010 election cycle.
A bipartisan effort to force transparency on the Federal Reserve is suddenly in jeopardy after a House Financial Services Committee member introduced an amendment that would let the multi-trillion dollar organization continue throwing tax dollars around in secret.
Rep. Mel Watt, a Democrat from North Carolina, has introduced an amendment intended as an alternative to the measure to audit the Federal Reserve introduced by Reps. Ron Paul (R-Texas) and Alan Grayson's (D-Fla.) . But instead of increasing transparency, as the amendment claims to do, Watt's measure would instead make the institution more opaque.

Chicago, Illinois
Monday, November 9th was the last day to file challenges to petition signatures in Illinois and as I reported on Tuesday, a few Campaign for Liberty members in Cook County who are running for office were targeted with petition challenges.
Today, more light has been shed on the players behind these challenges and their motivations. Freedom candidates at the State and Federal level have been targeted by an entrenched centrist power base that is determined to maintain the status quo. In short, Skynet has become self-aware.
David Ratowitz - Republican Congressional Candidate, Illinois 5th District
Republican Congressional candidate and Campaign for Liberty activist David Ratowitz was challenged by two sentient beings at 3PM on Monday, November 9th named Jacob Borden and Brian Quinn. (objection details)
Further investigation of Jacob Borden and Brian Quinn via the Facebook Social Networking site reveals links to Republican candidate Ashvin Lad, who is running against Ratowitz in the 5th Congressional district primary. Jacob Borden appears to be a fan of Lad's ...
Not recognizing who Borden and Quinn were at the time, Ratowitz launched petition challenges of both Repulican candidates who have filed to run in the 5th District as a defensive measure. On Thursday, November 12th, Ratowitz released a statement, calling for all challenges to be dropped.
David Ratowitz Defends Nominating Petition Veracity, Calls for Bilateral Objection Withdrawal
"Months of hard work by dedicated Ratowitz for Congress volunteers produced more than double the required signatures for February 2010 Primary ballot access. Confident that those signatures were obtained in a legal and honest manner, we are disheartened by the anonymous challenge to our nominating petitions initiated against our campaign earlier this week.
"Unfortunately, in the face of this apparent attempt to limit voter choice, tax our resources and rig the playing field, our campaign has been forced to issue counter objections against both of our opponents.
"The spirit of democracy is not fed by these types of baseless technical disputes. I, therefore, propose a withdrawal of objections by all parties in order that we may refocus our energies on the critical issues facing our district and nation. Voters of the 5th District - our fellow citizens - certainly deserve that respect."
One Important fact to note is that only one copy of Ratowitz's nomintating petitions was requested through the Illinois Board of elections. That request was made by attorney John "Bad Moon Rising" Fogarty. More on him later.
Deb Gordils - Republican Candidate for State Representative, 11th District
Local citizen candidate and C4L member Deb Letecia Gordils was also challenged by unknowns on Monday, November 9th. What has developed since then has been truly remarkable.
Unaware of who was coming after her, Deb reached out to Non Partisan Electorial Reform and Ballot Access group Free and Equal for help with her ballot access petition challenges. Free And Equal issued a statement today announcing they had been hired to assist Gordils with her defense.
IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Free & Equal, Inc. announced today that they will be defending the nominating petitions of at least two candidates in Illinois. Debra Leticia Gordils is running in the Republican primary for the 11th State House district. Gordils submitted well over 600 signatures. Anita Forte-Scott is ...running in... the Republican primary for the 56th State House district. Forte-Scott submitted over 900 signatures; 600 of them collected by herself, with the rest collected by volunteers. All were collected by going door-to-door with voter rolls. Copies of both petitions were requested by Kevin Artl, a former Political Director for the Rudy Giuliani Presidential campaign.Artl is the Chief of Staff for Illinois House Minority Leader Tom Cross. Artl has denied that Cross has anything to do with the challenges. Still, questions about the use of government employees in campaign capacities remain.
Further details about the Gordils campaign were included in a full press releas on Free and Equal's website, which for some reason is down at the time of this post.
A source close to this story today confirmed that in fact 11th District State Rep Candidate Scott Tucker was collaborating with Kevin Artl on the Gordil's challenge. Artl supplied Tucker with the petition package that he purchased from the Illinois Board of Elections.
In an interview with Gordils, she indicated that multiple conservative political action committees in Illinois have come to her aid in recent days in an effort to thwart an alleged statewide effort by Illinois Minority leader Tom Cross to have candidates challenging his hand picked candidates removed from the ballot and that Kevin Artl was at the center of this effort. According to Free and Equal, Artl has indicated that Tom Cross has nothing to do with this challenge. Gordil's also indicated that the attorney hired to represent Scott Tucker in his challenge is none other than John "Bad Moon Rising" Fogarty. We will find out if that is true on Monday morning Nov.19th. at 9:30 am.
Rise of the Machines
Clearly, freedom loving Chicago area candidates attemtping to run on the Repulican ticket in 2010 have had their campaigns targeted for termination by the establishment. Two of those candidates are Campaign for Liberty members.
It is time for Cook County Campaign for Liberty to Listen and Understand. Freedom Terminators are out there. They can't be bargained with. They Can't be reasoned with. They don't feel pity, or remorse and they absolutley will not stop, EVER!!! Until all of us are in DEBT!!!
JOIN THE RESISTANCE! Help Support your local freedom Candidates today!
Thanks for writing about the Illinois 11th State House race.
I am a libertarian-leaning Republican candidate for the GOP nomination.
I have a history as a "hard R," meaning that I vote in every GOP Primary. It's a matter of public record. You can look it up.
I believe that libertarian candidates belong inside the GOP, not outside it.
I also believe that Greens belong in their own party, or in the Democratic Party.
My opponent for the GOP nomination ran as recently as last spring as a Green Party Member & Candidate for Mike Quigley's seat: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/chi-090209debgordils-story,0,3390983 .story
In February, she told the Tribune that she supported socialized medicine: http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/chi-090209debgordils-story,0,3390983 .story
A Green Party Member who supports ObamaCare should not be petitioning as a Republican. She is deceptive.
Kevin Artl, who works for the House Republican Organization, not Illinois taxpayers, pulled Deb Leticia Gordils' petitions at my request.
I was concerned when I found-out that she was a Green Party Member & Candidate, and that she supports ObamaCare.
A Republican friend of mine, not on any taxpayer dime, took a look at the petitions, and called-me-up to tell me that MOST Deb's signatures were OUTSIDE the district.
This is a violation of State election law. Signatories must reside in the district and be registered voters.
I collected 914 signatures in the district.
Deb collected 606, and roughly 400 of them are outside the district.
She needs 500 in the district. It's not a high bar to reach. I did it myself.
The objectors to her petitions have stated that she has 59 good signatures.
This is without them objecting to the "Joseph"s that signed as "Joe", etc.
The vast majority of her signatures are from people outside the district, and then from unregistered district residents.
GOP voters in the 11th State House District are concerned that a Green Party candidate not masquerade as a Republican in the GOP Primary.
Without a challenge to her signatures, Deb would appear above me on the GOP Primary ballot, and with a female name.
The average GOP Primary voter would vote for her, because of the top ballot position, and the female name.
She would likely win the GOP nomination by 5% - 6%.
Deb is being defended by Free & Equal, a "ballot access" group, whose Christina Tobin has ties to the Green Party herself.
This is about NOT letting the Green Party take-over our GOP Primary. This is about not letting Green Party Members deceive GOP Primary voters.
If a Green were to win the GOP nomination, our choices in November of next year for State Rep would be between a Democrat & a Green.
The GOP would have NO representation in the general election.
I am the liberty candidate in this race. I oppose socialized medicine. My opponent does not.
Respectfully yours,

The campaigns of THREE Cook County Campaign for Liberty members, David Ratowitz (5th Congressional), David Anderson (19th State Rep) and Deb Gordils (11th State Rep) were all challenged yesterday, which means the validity of their petition signatures is being questioned. If these challenges succeed and the candidates are thrown off the ballot, it will be a setback for those liberty minded Campaign for Liberty members who have sacrificed their time and treasure to further the cause of freedom in Cook County.
Who is responsible for these challenges? In some cases, that remains to be seen. In others,it is clear that Chicago Machine model T-800's are at work.
While it is a setback, lets not let this deter us from our goal of promoting the message of freedom and liberty in the heart of "Obama-Nation." Let's learn from our mistakes and come back stronger next time.
This is upsetting, right no the heals of one of the worst votes in US congress history! Keep us updated on the challenges. I wish we had more candidates step up, especially for state rep. We can run some candidates as Independents, or look into districts where there is no GOP candidate (like mine), so the ward committeemen would have to place them on the ballot later. For an Independent candidate to gain steam, we may need some high profile endorsements (think Doug Hoffman). Some things may be easier to do on a state/local level.
