New Boston's Annual Fish Fry is our biggest and main event of the year. I happen to be the Vendor coordinator for this year, and I'd like to make sure we have an information booth to better educate people of what is really going on and how they can help.

Since I am a Community Club member and the coordinator for the Vendors, I will be very limited on availability to man the booth. So, I'm asking for help from anybody that might be close to our area, please.

The Community Club has been working hard this last year to improve and revive this event. We've even managed to book a carnival to come in this year. However, I'm surrounded by Obama supporters, so know they will not help at all.

We will have more details along with a tentative schedule after our next meeting - July 12th. We'll be holding weekly meetings till the event after that, the day will be set at the July 12th meeting. All Community Club meetings are open to the public and will be posted on MercerCommunities.com calendar.

If you are able to help in any way, either with manning the booth or providing materials, please contact me as soon as possible. I have to have helpers in order to be able to do this.

Update 7/7/09: 2 local residents have volunteered to help on the Saturday, which will be our biggest day. We could really use more helpers for this - I'd love to be able to cover all 3 days.

Bobby Schilling has confirmed that he will be coming on Saturday to be in the parade, and will also have a booth to meet people of the area and pass out information. He is running against Hare for district 17. His web site: http://www.bobby2010.com/

I got the chance to meet and spend some time socializing with Bobby in person on the 4th of July - I marched with him in the E. Moline parade. He is just awesome - a real down-to-earth person that is one of us and understands and is truly for the PEOPLE, which is exactly what we need. He's really excited about coming for the Fish Fry and getting the chance to meet Mercer County residents.

I'd like to encourage all supporters for Bobby to come march in the parade with him on Aug 15th @ 10am - I will be unable to march with him due to Community Club duties that may include helping with the parade line up.

I received this e-mail today and simply LOVE it - my teabag will be going that's for sure. Please join me in the New American Tea Party and pass the following on to all you know:

There's a storm abrewin'.  What happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten they work for us.  We don't work for them. Throwing good money after bad is NOT the answer.  I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to come up with a plan.  I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes.  I am sick of the bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar.  I am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly, bought more house than they could afford.  I am sick of being made to feel it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes...  I, like all of you, am a responsible citizen.  I pay my taxes.  I live on a budget and I don't ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make.  I have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the stimulus package as it was written without reading it first.  No one listened.  They voted for it, pork and all.

O.K. folks, here it is.  You may think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference.  Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!! If you are disgusted and angry with the way Washington is handling our taxes.  If you are fearful of the fallout from the wreckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate" without accountability and responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN,  SUBURB AND HOME IN AMERICA ...   There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens.  What is being done in Washington is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.

So, here's the plan.  On April 1, 2009, all Americans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washington , D.C.   You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so desire.  Just a TEABAG.   Many cities are organizing protests.  If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will come up.  If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice heard with a TEABAG.  Your one voice will become a roar when joined with millions of others that feel the same way.  Yes, something needs to be done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock market speaks volumes.

This was not my idea.  I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Party' and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they would send the teabag on April 1.  Why, April 1??  We want them to reach Washington by April 15. Will you do it?  I will.

Forward this to everyone in your address book.  Visit the website below for more information about the 'New American Tea Party'.  I would encourage everyone to go ahead and get the envelope ready to mail, then just drop it in the mail April 1.  Can't guarantee what the postage will be by then, it is going up as we speak, but have your envelope ready.  What will this cost you?  A little time and a 40 something cent stamp.

What could you receive in benefits?  Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials will start to listen to the people.  Take out the Pork.  Tell us how the money is being spent.  We want TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY.  Remember, the money will be spent over the next 4-5 years.  It is not too late. Of course, if you agree with the way things are being done now, just delete!!!!!

Thank you to all that have helped us by making your voices heard!

American work-at-home moms and dads are watching in horror and in tears as the very same large corporate toy companies that put our children's health & safety at risk are being rewarded with the destruction of our businesses. We all stood up this last week to make our voices heard and help save the thrift stores. But nobody is standing up for us, so our quality handmade children's products are being made illegal.

We don't qualify for business loans so we're forced to work on a shoe string budget with the constant threat of going under. We're all struggling just to put food on the table for our families - but our government doesn't seem to care. We cannot afford to comply to expensive testing - many of our products are one of a kind with no batch lots and we're just barely surviving in today's economy. Our products were designed for our own children and have always been safe quality products.

Our plight has continually been ignored by the Consumer Product Commission - we continually keep hearing them say that we're not big enough to matter. People are afraid to say anything in opposition to a law purporting to protect children. Most of us created our products as a safe alternative to the hazardous dangerous toys that we already knew were a problem. Ignoring this law is not a choice for any of us – like it or not, the CPSIA is a game changer that is allowing the destruction of millions of work-at-home parents' businesses because we are not considered big enough to matter. Handmade children's products will be a thing of history along with the destruction of everything we've fought hard to achieve. What happened to free enterprise?

Millions of American parents are being kicked in the teeth and put out of business, because we don't have the production and finances to be able to comply with the unfair trade practices that have been enacted. America is no longer a free country for us - it's a socialistic corporate rule by our government that doesn't care that they are destroying our dreams and everything we've struggled so hard to achieve.

I feel for your plight and understand the laws that have been put in place are fine for large corporate entities, but not for the small Mom & Pop handmade toy store. Tests, tests and more tests are putting not only you out of business, but are also squeezing the small farmer, the organic grocery store, and the raw milk sellers out of business too. All the government regulations favor the large corporations favor the large companies, because they are the ones with the bucks for lobbying, the source for campaign funds and the source for the cushy jobs when they are ready to retire.

I was a victim of wrongful and false accusations & lies by individuals that wanted my children. They involved child protective services by telling them lies and falsehoods. This caused the total destruction of my family and my children have been brainwashed against me with lies. Only the oldest remembers the truth and the rest will not listen to him. He is the only one that I've been able to re-establish a relationship. This is a very real parent's nightmare.

Recently I've discovered that I was not an isolated incident - this is an ever growing problem all across the nation. CPS agencies have become corrupt and no longer have the child's best interest at heart. Sure, they may save a handful of actually abused children - but the majority of children that are being shuffled into their system were never abused or neglected. They get bonuses for wrongfully destroying families and farming children.

Due to my recent discovery - I've joined forces with a few Iowa & Illinois moms that are now going through similar situations. They are being falsely accused and their families destroyed. I've been hard at work the last few days putting together a web site for a brand new non-profit organization that myself and another mom have decided to start.

Keithsburg, IL is on a roll - Hubby and I spent about 3 hours canvassing today in Keithsburg and came home with 76 signatures. I just recieved a call from the owner of Tweeties, one of the places that I left petitions with. She's out and needs more already - she said her customers were almost upset that they had to wait till I could get some more over there tomorrow, lol.

I have also already gotten permission from the Joy Mayor to go door to door there.
