Hi,

My name is James I am a resident of Congressional District 2 in Missouri. I believe that freedom, in the sense that the Founders believed and countless others, is the best way yet devised to achieve the most amount of happiness for the most number of people. I am what some people call a "Jeffersonian".

I believe that we should have affordable goods, healthcare, protection of our money, a clean environment, and I believe we should have devices in place for the general welfare of people. The only kicker is that I believe goods are only affordable in a free market. I believe healthcare is affordable in a free market and everyone would be able to enjoy it. I believe that ending the Federal Reserve and backing our dollar by gold, thus stopping inflation, will protect the value of our money. I believe that a clean environment can be achieved by personal property rights in the sense Milton Friedman proposed in his books and videos. I believe that there is still a lot of room for more debate over global warming and do not give in to Al Gore's theories. I believe the USA as a free and prosperous nation will once again be so wealthy that the people (without government involvement) can afford to create privately owned institutions for the public to fall back on in hard times. I side with Milton Friedman on this issue that better, more efficient, and helpful operations are created from non government entities. I would like to reiterate that Federal Government involvement in all areas not delegated to them by the Constitution of the United States only causes problems and or compounds them. I think many people agree with the issues. But what many disagree on is the means to get there I believe in freedom, they believe in government.

I think history backs freedom, in the sense I support it, conclusively. I feel my goal is to learn as much as I can about freedom and use it to help guide people on issues they feel strongly about. I also think it is a travesty that hardly anyone understands the principles of freedom as this great country use to. Our country needs to start understanding the principles of freedom once again so we can hold our government accountable effectively.

I encourage anyone reading my profile who is new to the C4L (Campaign for Liberty) to at least take a look around, talk to people, ask questions (we're here to help!), and learn something.

Thank you for being interested in freedom.

Through time many things have stayed constant for mankind. We are born into a computer, digital, information highway, electrical age. We think this makes us better than our predecessors. But is this true? Mankind has never learned from its past to stop wars. Mankind has never learned to respect Mother Nature and her resource.  Instead of learning from our past mankind has suffered the same way as it always has. The suffering has never come from love and peace. It has always come from arrogant, ignorant bullies and tyrants. Much of mans existence has been full of war, oppression, greed, and a lust for power or domination. Mankind has a short memory span and continuously allows unsatisfactory ideas to flourish. Mankind has in this same step of forgetting history, treated the great ideas as part of the past and should be scorned at. Every civilization comes to a disastrous end and the question for us is when is our turn? Perhaps Albert Einstein is correct when he says the does not know what weapons world war 3 will be fought with but he can be sure World War 4 will be fourth with sticks and stones. For those who believe in the legend of Atlantis they believe this has happened before. Perhaps they are correct or perhaps not. Some very optimistic thinkers believe trying very hard can win back mankind’s hearts, minds, and freedom. Pessimistic thinkers have the belief history repeats its self and no one can stop the inevitable. Others suggest anything is possible relying on the history of how the United States of America was born. These others suggest in the future mankind will still understand the cycle of civilizations and think, “Wow, the United States of America was one exception to the rule.” Long after America has gone. To me if America can triumph in breaking one rule of history she can break another. Many people have differing opinions on the subject to say the least.

America in her awe inspiring beauty was blessed with the United States of America. The United States was a very new and radical government as seen by the tyrants of the world. To the oppressed of the world the United States was full of heroes. Even though something great happened to the Europeans on this new land something bad happened to the Natives. It seems America didn’t fully accept and see her beauty before the Europeans killed many Natives. Becoming what the U.S.A. hated out of oppression, the United States killed off just about every Native tribe. What a sad thought of a nation that many would learn to admire. The U.S.A. was admired for her freedom and economic boom. The “Founders”, as the American 18th century leaders became to be known, understood greatly the history of mankind and the oppressive tyrant’s mankind could produce. All of them claimed they wanted to stop the tyrants by producing the United States Constitution, an agreement of the United States Citizens to relinquish some of their natural born rights, restrain the government, and elect the best leaders to uphold the law of freedom and represent their constituents. Based on the truth of mankind and history one could make a guess if each part of this government could withhold the testament of time. Yup, you guessed it, slowly the laws have been changed, ignored, misinterpreted or hanging today by the smallest threads. The remnant of freedom has however with stood time and millions of people in this country alone have kept on to it and passed it down generation to generation through teaching and writing. The “remnant” was also once described by Albert Jay Nock as the minority of people who are in “the know” and would rebuild this country after a collapse when the way of government had become indefensible. As Ron Paul once said “The remnant is alive and well.” During his campaign for presidency in 2007-2008.

From the time of 1800 to now 2009 was filled with errors and secrecy of government. The Civil War was probably one of the first most significant events that still impacts us today. Abe Lincoln our 16th president fought against state rights to secede from the Union and started the civil war and said the seceding states were in a rebellion. In order to stifle the South's power Lincoln declared the Emancipation Proclamation which was an order to free all slaves. The civil war was about the South seceding from the U.S.A. and not about slavery as some people think and or are taught. Lincoln won the Civil war and started the Federal Governments growth rampage. Since the time of Lincoln there has been no looking back. Illegal direct unaportioned taxes have been levied against the United States citizens. When citizens refuse to pay the I.R.S. they are then falsely required to disobey their 5th amendment right of self incrimination. There have been unhealthy fickle rulings of the Supreme Court such as their ruling on Jim Crow laws saying blacks and whites don’t have to be together so long as the accommodations are the same they would be “Separate but equal”. Then years later after many problems and bloodshed and an explosion of “Jim Crow” laws the Supreme Court reversed their decision and said that “Separate is not equal”. The Court in their bad decision making ruled congress could regulate state funded marijuana in California under the “regulate commerce” clause because, marijuana growth and distribution in California would affect the nationwide marijuana black market. The Supreme Court now suggests any law that is broken by someone is reason enough to lose your 4th amendment rights of illegal search and seizures. The Supreme Court has allowed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to continue even worse than before. The Supreme Court has allowed the Patriot Act and Military Commissions act, the draft, undeclared wars, allowing presidential signing statements to be law. The president and congress are all part of this travesty because they pass the laws, elect the Supreme Court Justices, and do the spying. Then that’s when the Supreme Court upholds the laws based on a misinterpretation of the constitution. They are all just as guilty.

Never before when men’s rights are being suppressed have men been in more jeopardy. This is because of advanced weapons systems that are more efficient than ever before. The glimmer of hope we have is our strength in numbers and the fact we the people are the Army, Marines and Navy. But some people suggest that it is easy to take over the minds of people such as Hitler did with his army. If you are enlightened enough to understand how the television and media and corporations are all inter connected with the government you’d accept the theory of hijacking someone’s thoughts.

The media is scared into submission by government such as present day Iraq coverage because the government intimidates the media and sign deals that only certain reports could be made. If the media decides to dissent on government it doesn’t go far enough. The corporations need money and that can corrupt government officials to a certain degree also.

Through all this never is needed more dissension of government than now. The last few years it has become the most popular thing to do that other people think is unpopular. Anyone who dissents is branded unpatriotic, crazy, or a conspiracy theorist. In fact more than 1 million people are on the “terrorist watch list.” Even more recently in Maryland several people were notified that they were removed from a terrorist watch list they were on because the protest groups the people were involved in. This means dissension is being outlawed. Even more is that free speech zones have been used. It is an area where people are told to gather if they want to practice their free speech. Other people who follow the laws and protest legally are thrown in jail.

The American Civil Liberties Union recently brought attention to the Department of Homeland Security’s claim that they can stop and search whomever they please within 100 miles of the U.S.A. border which is resident to nearly 2/3rds of the U.S.A. population. The media and government say “it’s all to protect you.” Let us not forget that tyrants and oppressors are who seek and use this lack of freedom. It has  been a slippery slope downward to totalitarianism. Heed the words of Ben Franklin, “They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security.”

Much of what happens today and the push for globalization started with a meeting on Jekyll Island by a few elite bankers and congress people. The entity that was conceived on Jekyll Island and created not to long after in 1913 was called “The Federal Reserve”. The Fed, as it is occasionally called, caused much of the socialism and distrust in freedom and the free market Americans have gained. The Fed caused the 1930’s depression which gave a good reason to start welfare programs. The Fed caused the depression by messing with the inflation rate and loan rate through the 20’s creating a huge drop in the money supply. Too many government programs have been created since then it would be hard to list them all.

Maybe you have paid attention to the news lately and watched the stock market fall, unemployment increase, inflation rise, and watch trillions of dollars in bailouts get sent to companies who should be failing from bad business practices. Much of our economy’s ups and downs have been predicted by Austrian economicists such as Peter Schiff and Ron Paul. Now that these Austrian economicists have been vindicated any help they offer is ignored by government law makers. The 700 billion bailout bill that passed was subject to a few meetings in which at least two senators were warned if the bill wasn’t passed martial law could be declared. –What a travesty. Now that the bill passed and money is being handed out no one is allowed to see the details. The documents are blackened out hiding valuable information for oversight. The media even reported that some banks and corporations involved in this bailout want to hand money out as bonuses instead of using it as the government intended.

The trillions were spending on the economy, Iraq and an overgrown government has gotten out of hand. Our debt is over 10.5 trillion dollars ($10,500,000,000,000). Realistically our debt is much more since we owe money to our social security program that the government decided to spend. Bob Bowman, a rocket scientist, is one of several people speaking out. He has said our debt may even be 50 trillion dollars. – That’s a lot. The debt is much higher than 10.5 trillion because the baby boomers are starting to retire and receive the social security money they put in We need to start cutting government programs and reduce the size of government. We need to get rid of the war on drugs and stop the war in Iraq. We need to bring all of our troops home so we can save money. We need to end the I.R.S. and the Federal Reserve and go back to sound economic policies that don’t interfere with a nation of free persons. We need to end the police state and the surveillance of our own innocent people. We need to encourage savings not debt.

The common consensus in the remnant in the U.S.A. is that the presidents have over stated their powers. Congress over stepped its boundaries writing laws. The judges are political and misinterpret the constitution. Globalization has hijacked our philosophy on Capitol Hill. The globalization was exposed by several people including Carroll Quigley a renowned figure. In Carroll Quigley’s book Tragedy and Hope he talks about the materials he read and the ideas of the people among him who were pushing for a one world government. “There does exist, and has existed for a generation, an international Anglophile network which operates, to some extent, in the way the radical Right believes the Communists act. In fact, this network, which we may identify as the Round Table Groups, has no aversion to cooperating with the Communists, or any other groups, and frequently does so. I know of the operations of this network because I have studied it for twenty years and was permitted for two years, in the early 1960's, to examine its papers and secret records. I have no aversion to it or to most of its aims and have, for much of my life, been close to it and to many of its instruments. I have objected, both in the past and recently, to a few of its policies (notably to its belief that England was an Atlantic rather than a European Power and must be allied, or even federated, with the United States and must remain isolated from Europe), but in general my chief difference of opinion is that it wishes to remain unknown, and I believe its role in history is significant enough to be known.”  Also in Carroll Quigley’s book The Anglo-American Establishment he exposes the secret societies that were influencing Great Britain. Before you question Quigley’s character, Quigley was a scholar in history, and a polymath. Quigley was very well respected. These two books are filled with very valuable knowledge.

Can the people of the United States turn this lawlessness, philosophical, sleep state, police state, around back to 100% sound freedom? Perhaps a Gandhi like figure walks in our ranks. Someone well respected who understands the power of what Gandhi did and can use it to advance freedom. Perhaps a Martin Luther King type figure of peace. Perhaps a person with a new breed of influence.

There is sorrow and hope. Sorrow in the so called “inevitable repeat of history” when a way of a people collapses. This can be foreseen within the next 20 years because an economic collapse may be likely because of inflation and our national debt. There is also the chance of globalization, or war. It may be an economic collapse that leads to war then globalization. Or any other order of combination of these things. Let us pray Albert Einstein was incorrect about World War 3 and World War 4. Let us pray that history stopped repeating its self starting with the United States of America. I say there is hope because anything is possible because we’ve broken one part of history so it must be possible again. But don’t tell that to a pessimist.

No matter what, the remnant must live on for life, liberty, and freedom. If we can’t take back our freedoms now we will be the ones rebuilding our nation after it collapses.
