KathyLatshaw BeaReady's weblog
Here's a little something to make your day. It appears our Congressman John Boccieri has made some enemies in the Ohio Coal Association. This is on St. Rt. 18 about 100 yards east of Windfall Rd. It is on the right side of the road if you are heading West toward 71, but the sign faces East. Its on the back side of another billboard that faces west of Medina Ohio. Word has it another is on St Rt 3 south near Chippewa Rd. and on 21 near Massillon.
Wouldn't a billboard project be fun? I'm sure some of you have past experience from the 2008 campaign
THANK YOU member Gail Maimone for the great photography and report! This is indeed encouraging.

KathyLatshaw BeaReady Smithville, OH | Yes, very accurate and heart warming to say the least. Had one fellow so excited wrote saying he was 'on his way to see it'! lol
Here is simple billboard I had ready for new location in my area couple months ago. At first owner was ready then when time came to finalize he stopped communicating. After numerous calls and email, still no reply. Maybe he had second thoughts about political ads?

Our congressman John Boccieri is the 279th co-sponsor of the Federal Reserve Transparency Act. Yes, I'm as shocked as all of you.
Thanks to all who never gave up with the letters, phone calls and petitions. Please feel free to call/write and thank him for doing the right thing.

Perhaps Obama was being truthful in his belief that economic recovery depends on healthcare ..... well, sort of. Is this possibly the mother of all bailouts, a bubble ready to burst?
Just some personal observations include since the early 70's (managed care), increased building new medical facilities, never ending expansion and remodeling at area hospitals even small rural ones, hospitals taken over by 'management services', CEO salaries that would make Bernanke drool, boom of big Pharma, etc. My area has pretty much been taken over by Cleveland Clinic and we are located 50 miles away in farm country. I've lost count on the increased number of 'physicians' available over the past couple of decades and it's still growing.
Is obamacare is the ultimate bailout? We know the federal gov. is responsible for warping the health care 'industry' much the same as the housing market and everything else they break and fix with more regulation. Certainly the Healthcare Industry is too big to fail? As jobs continue to vanish, so does the health care/insurance that was tied to them. Oh how will they survive?
I've not found anything written on this and hope that some of you expert Austrians could respond. Is this indeed a 'bubble' ready to burst .... To Big To Fail, more Bailout? Should our objections include Healthcare Industry Bailout?

libertyspirit Modesto, CA | It is a big bubble. The only new construction going on in our town seems to have to do with pharmacies. CVC, Walgrens, RiteAide, etc. Funny thing is they are all almost across the street from each other, or they are building one across the street from an existing pharmacy. My friends 11 y.o. son asked, "Are there that many people on drugs?" (or something similar.) |

Mike in Virginia Fredericksburg, VA | You have hit the nail on the head: health care is a bubble, just like the other bubbles caused by monetary policy and other government actions. That is precisely the reason why costs have gone up so dramatically since Medicare was enacted in 1965. Yes, the outrageous cost of health care is directly the result of government intervention. And Mises pointed out long ago that every time the government causes a problem, it seeks more power to correct that problem. |

Quite an accomplishment to make Politico! This event was hosted by area tea party groups however there were C4L members who joined in. The numbers were probably closer to 200 at times and what a day it was! We even had sirens and horn honks from Canton Fire Department as they rolled up to free those stuck in elevator to the seventh floor on their way to deliver 'pink slips' to the Congressman. Following the rescue many more climbed the seven flights of stairs for this privilege.
A Boccieri blunder?
Rep. John Boccieri (D-Ohio) is one of the latest Democrats to be feeling the heat back home after voting for cap-and-trade energy legislation. Boccieri, who represents a Canton-area district whose economy is based on manufacturing, saw over 100 protesters complain about his vote at his district office last Friday:
Several protesters went to the building’s seventh floor to deliver their criticisms of what they perceived to be his positions and pink sheets titled “Termination of Representation” to Boccieri’s chief of staff, Anthony Trevena, who thanked them for their input.

KathyLatshaw BeaReady Smithville, OH | Keep watch, I'm sure there will be more of these. Area groups are now quickly planning to meet Obama when he arrives in Cleveland Thursday. If you search meetup.com for tea party, we surround them, liberty, etc. you'll find groups in N. Canton, Akron, Medina, and more. |

The below article in today's Daily Record covers Boccieri's 'excuses' for voting yes on Cap & Trade. Please be sure and read the comments for encouragement that people ARE paying attention in Wayne Co. and our district. I hope some will take advantage and load more hits, comments, and letters to the Editor. Let the Wooster Daily Record know that Boccieri is not representing us.
Changes led to support Boccieri commits to cap and trade
By BRYAN SCHAAF

WOOSTER -- When U.S. 16th District Rep. John Boccieri was on the campaign trail a year ago, he was uncommitted in his stance on cap and trade initiatives designed to administratively lower emissions levels produced by industries.
But citing two significant changes added to the legislation presented to him last week, the freshman congressman felt assured he was making the right decision in voting for the American Clean Energy and Security Act, which passed the House 219-212.
"I think voters understand that we can't depend and rely on 60 percent of our oil being supplied from overseas -- including many nation states that want to do harm to us," said Boccieri, D-Alliance. "The wealth transfer we have sending money overseas is being used to fuel terrorists in my opinion. That's a threat to our national security, and if those spigots were turned off tomorrow what would we do?"
One major sticking point, Boccieri said, was the legislation as originally crafted would benefit coastal states, while leaving the Midwest, which is rich in coal production, with little to gain.
But a visit to Babcock & Wilcox's Alliance Research Center helped change his mind......
