Momentum keeps ramping up in central Illinois for the Campaign for Liberty! If you have yet to read the Sangamon County C4L May Newsletter, you can download the .pdf here:
A rally was held at Tuesday, May 19th at the Illinois State Capitol Building in Springfield to protest the proposed income tax increase. The Campaign for Liberty was there to spread information about the central Illinois movement and also to deliver petitions to the governor's office inside the Capitol.
Speeches from Jake Mabus, 19th region coordinator and Adam Anderszewski, Republican Gov. Candidate, cover the importance of action and how the momentum cannot let up.
Phil Christophanelli from the C4L is also featured here with other C4L and the recently revived Illinois Patriots Political Action Committee to deliver petitions to Governor Pat Quinn's office after the rally. Check out the video:

Adam Andrzejewski joined residents of central Illinois to talk about his campaign for governor on Wednesday. The meeting at the Sangamon County Republican Headquarters was a great opportunity for Adam's platform to become clear. His campaign will focus on three primary issues: it's your turn, every dime - online - in real time, and new ideas need new people.
Social issues were also discussed with the Republican candidate.
Adam made clear he would veto a same sex marriage bill as governor saying he does not believe the courts or legislature should move the definition of marriage.
Medicinal marijuana was also raised in open conversation with the candidate. As governor, Adam would look thoroughly at every aspect of a medicinal marijuana bill, but would be extremely cautious. "If this is a gateway to legalizing drugs in society, I would veto the bill."
The question of concealed carry was raised and the gubernatorial candidate supports that prospect. He is also a great supporter of the Second Amendment.
Other issues of Illinois pension reform, ballot access fairness for third parties, campaign finance reform and the role of the Illinois National Guard were also thrashed out.
Adam believes that current promises made for pensions to government employees should be kept, but going forward there needs to be reform.
Understanding there is great passion in third party movements, Adam would take a great look at Illinois' laws concerning access to ballots, pointing out the disparity of the require number of signatures for the two main parties versus any third party.
On the issue of recall, Adam says "for the office of governor, the people of Illinois need recourse in the case of a future Blagojevich to be able to remove their Governor."
Campaign finance reform is sure to be a hot issue as we approach the election and Adam seems to not be in favor of restructuring the system saying "if you have a good idea, people will fund it at the highest level." To counteract citizens' concerns for corruption in campaign finance, Adam is leading the way and posting online every source of income for him and his campaign and is urging other candidates to do the same.
For the Global War on Terror, the Republican candidate stated clearly he is comfortable with signing over the Illinois National Guard to the power of the President of the United States, the Commander in Chief.
Adam was the first Republican candidate to throw his hat in the ring for the 2010 election.
Interesting. I was expecting him to be more of a libertarian Republican, from some of the reports I had previously heard, but it seems that is not the case. Thanks for reporting to us on his stance on key issues.

Hello Sangamon County and friends in Liberty!
Please forward this message to all of your contacts.
Transparency is coming, but WE must act today! We do not have much time.
Congress has returned from recess and the support for the Federal Reserve Transparency Act now has 88 co-sponsors! No one could have anticipated the momentum we have witnessed. HR 1207, the 'Audit the Fed' bill, will get a hearing in the Finance Committee, but we need as much support from our congressman as possible.
Tuesday, April 28, the Campaign for Liberty headquarters is calling for a mass action day: a weekend petition drive and delivery of constituent's signatures to representative's local offices on Tuesday April 28. This was revealed in a late night conference call Thursday evening with various coordinators from across the country. Jesse Benton explained the incredible expansion of support for the bill and the need for this action on Tuesday.
The Campaign for Liberty's action alert is urgent and dire, and the result will be astonishing.
Tuesday is a very big day for transparency of the Federal Reserve and we must all devote as much time as possible to this historic event!
MY PLAN OF ACTION FOR CENTRAL ILLINOIS:
Get your clip boards ready!
Friday afternoon ... get into your neighborhoods with petitions and hit up every house possible. Please grab a friend, and cover your area. Here are links to three different simple and plain .docs for you to print out. Please use the one for your congressional district. (17th CD, 18th CD, 19th CD)
I plan on getting on campus to get signatures and going downtown to get signatures from the night scene, with plenty of info for people to take home and talk about. There are also tea party group meetings taking place Friday night and it is crucial to get signatures there as well.
Now a focus here should really be the 17th and 18th congressional districts. John Shimkus in the 19th CD seems to already be on board, but we must be sure to thank him profusely ... more on that later.
Saturday at noon, the End the Fed Rally in downtown will be critical to hand out info and gather signatures. Please be prepared with a list of communities to ensure the signatures fall in the correct CD.
Hit up the rally downtown and walk more neighborhoods early Saturday evening.
Sunday, more canvassing is important. We need a large number of signatures on hand for the delivery Tuesday.
Monday, again more canvassing! If you would like, let's meet at the Route 66 hotel for dinner after a long afternoon of canvassing. There we will work out the details for our journey to the local CD offices of Phil Hare, Aaron Schock, and John Shimkus.
We have four strong days to get as many signatures of constituents to urge representatives to sponsor HR 1207, and the weather is going to be great in Central Illinois.
Tuesday I wish to have a caravan of constituents to go to their closest congressional district office and deliver the large number of signatures with a group of C4L members. It is so important that we ALL follow through with this! When we show up in droves with pages upon pages of signatures in support of this desperately needed legislation calling for transparency of the Fed, we cannot be denied. Ensure you reps sponsor the bill: Democrat, Repbulican or Green.
CONGRESSIONAL OFFICES TO ATTEND ON TUESDAY WITH SIGNATURES
This should be a concerted effort, involving as many friends and family members as possible. Network with others in your area to show up to the offices at the same time with the petitions. It is important you show up in as large a number as possible. Though your congressman may not be there, be sure to tell their assistance at the congressional district offices that these petitions and people in person "urge your boss, Congressman (insert name), to support HR1207." If your congressman, as is the case with Shimkus, supports the bill already, be sure to thank them for their support in person! Be respectful. Walk soft and carry a big stick! The big stick will be the pages upon pages of signature you deliver!
Congressman Phil Hare:

Decatur Office 236 North Water St. #765 Decatur, IL 62523 Phone: (217) 422-9150
Galesburg Office 261 N. Broad, #5 Galesburg, IL 61401 Phone: (309) 342-4411
Springfield 3130 Chatham Road, Suite C Springfield, IL 62704 Phone: (217) 492-5090
I will be attending Congressman Shimkus' district office to deliver a thank you for support, along with any additional signatures I gather through the weekend. I plan on filming the exchange with their office to post a story and blog. I am willing to coordinate with other members in the area to hit up their congressional district offices and film the exchange to edit and post online. Please contact me as soon as possible if you are willing to join this quasi production planned for Tuesday. It may take several hours and some driving out of your day Tuesday, but the impact showing this happen on video will be great.
I am available all day Tuesday and am willing to work with anyone that wants camera work done during their delivery. I will film and edit and post the video online in association of the Campaign for Liberty. Call or email: 217.220.6343 or bishoponair@gmail.com
As always, let me know if you have any questions. We have four strong days to get this done. Let's do this!
