GraySeal's weblog
Please be aware that a pirate copy of the Declaration of Independence has been in distribution which does not fairly represent the ideals agreed upon. One line reads so:
We hold these truths to be self evident that men may form groups, that these groups are endowed by their creators to seek advantage. That to secure these advantages, Governments are instituted by these groups, deriving their just powers from those so gaining advantage.
Institution of the philosophy of the pirate Declaration of Independence will be hazardous to the Perfect Union. Be vigilant.

Times are scarey. Halloween will
be light divergence from this slow trudge towards tyranny.
Little
ol' me is here by myself observing the show. We have five major
forces at play today. The conventional wisdom says there is
always two at play. Democrat or Republican. Liberal or
Conservative. Good or Evil. Bah. It is part of the
theatre.. Many have found that the best way to reduce
competition for power is to reduce the number of competitors.
It is best to keep the competitive ideas away from the stage.
There
are five major forces in politics.
1) The Corporatists.
People believe that the best way to run the country is through
supporting big business. The bigger the better. We need
to give advantages to this segment of society as they are important.
Big dollars for political campaigns come from here. They are
the wealthy of our society, our royalty. This group is
protected. Some think this is the free market. Not
hardly. Corporatists are dominating politics.
2) The
Socialists. These are the people who do not like corporatists.
They mistakenly think corporatism and the free market are one and the
same. They think that the lowest level of economic standing
should be getting the advantages and freebies instead of big
business. This group has an increasing influence on our
politics. Many are turning towards this as a means to get their
share of the dominant big government.
3)The Theocrats. These
people think we have gone all wrong because we are not following
their religion's morals. This basic theocratic ideology is mixed with
corporatism or socialism as long as it incorporates their religious
agendas. 4)The Apathetic. The common trait of this group is that they
pay no to little attention to the political process. They do not know
that there are issues. At best they have a superficial knowledge of
issues. They choose to not vote, vote based on main stream media
advertising or main street media news, vote for one party, vote for
personality, vote for race, vote for sex, or vote for the incumbent.
This is a massive force in politics. The one issue this group
responses to is when they are told they are going to get free stuff.
This group also includes those who know that current dominant forces
of government are bad but have given up on changing the status quo.
4)The Apathetic. The common trait of
this group is that they pay no to little attention to the political
process. They do not know that there are issues. At best they have a
superficial knowledge of issues. They choose to not vote, vote based
on main stream media advertising or main street media news, vote for

this group responses to is when they are told they are going to get
free stuff. This group also includes those who know that current
dominant forces of government are bad but have given up on changing
the status quo.
5)The last group are the Lovers of Freedom and Liberty. They are
politically active but smaller in numbers than the other four groups.
They do not want any advantage for themselves or anyone. They want a
free market. They want equal opportunity to compete. They do not want
others telling them what to do. They value individuals.
Corporatists, socialists, and theocrats want tyranny. They
all want a strong central government. Corporatists and socialists
want big government. They believe the best society is a top
down society which results in much bureaucracy. A limited few know
the best answers. Such people know what it better for people than
people know for themselves. Do not let a person decide for themselves
what someone else can decide for them better. It is more cost
effective to manage people as groups.
Theocrates do not
necessarily want big government. Government only needs to be big
enough to enforce their personal beliefs upon others. If there is a
controversial issue, do not let people choose for themselves.
Theocrates want their personal opinions to be law. This group is the
most easily fooled by politicians.
I am little ol' me
watching the show. Politicians are prospering with the increasing
tyranny. Government is becoming more and more fascist. A larger more
powerful central government is the goal. Corporatism mixed with
socialism or words of theocracy are capturing much support. I am an
individual. I am a lover of liberty and freedom. Others such as
myself are being squeezed by the other four forces into a small
corner. The two dominate forces of corporatism and socialism are
getting all of the substantial exposure in media. They make sure they
are the only two on the stage. Theocrats give support to the
corporatists with the hope for inclusion of some theocratic
governance. Some theocrats attach themselves to other forces
hoping to rise to power.
Little ol' me is alone. Alone? Not
really. We are many. We are one of the five major forces of
politics. Can a bunch of individualists actually form a group? For
sure. Not a group in the sense of the corporatists nor the socialists
or the theocrats. We are not a group looking for special advantages
for ourselves. We are a group looking for no advantages. We are a
group desiring freedom and liberty as individuals. Do not hinder us,
nor anyone, in the pursuit of happiness! We must value the
individual, not the group.
It is a scarey time. The ills of
our bad government based upon corporatism and socialism is building.
It is about to cascade. What will rise from the rubble? The other
four forces are all against us. They greatly outnumber us. How can we
succeed with such opposition? We can because freedom and liberty
works. It maximizes the pursuit of happiness.
To succeed
there is a path towards change. We must educate the segments of
the apathetic who are fallen into this group because of despair. We
must educate the naive followers of corporatist and socialist who do
not know what a free market is. We must educate as to the role of
government in regards of the need to regulate in order to protect
competition in a free market. We need not regulations but just
regulation. Just regulation will give no advantages to any and
will discipline those who seek advantage via monopolistic practice or
coercion.
We must convince those seeking self serving favor
from government that no special advantages for anyone will result in
their own best advantage.
Knowing what needs to be done means
it is possible we can do it. Daunting and scarey as it is, what is
a better choice for our individual lives than to make the world a
better place? Liberty and freedom will take my fear away.

Those who have voted for the bail out bill are daring us to vote them out of office. Illinois Senator Dick Durbin is one of them. He believes he is untouchable in the November's election.
How many signs can we get up in Illinois in the remaining weeks against Dick Durbin?
Phrasing I would suggest:
Don't be a Dupe. Dump Dick Durbin.
Stop the Swindlers. Dump Dick Durbin.

Terry Jack Springfield, IL | I am voting for the Libertarian candidate Larry Stafford. This is from his website http://www.stafford4senate.com/
Larry works to follow in the footsteps of lifetime libertarian Ron Paul, who has served in the US Congress for over 15 years and:
never voted to raise taxes or for an unbalanced budget
never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership
voted against the Patriot Act and the Iraq war
voted against regulating the Internet
never voted to raise congressional pay or took a congressional junket
Imagine Ron Paul having Larry Stafford as his partner in the US Senate. Together they could jointly propose legislation to put our nation on the road to more peace, prosperity, and tolerance for all citizens.

TehTpyoKing Hartford, IL | Hey Mr. Firsching, I believe we met a while back at the last meeting of the Edwardsville Meetup at St. Louis Bread Co.
I'm campaigning against Durbin myself. Like the poster above, I intend to vote and campaign for Stafford, anyone who is -legitimately- using Dr. Paul as a model for their candidacy has got my support. |

GraySeal Edwardsville, IL | Larry Stafford stands out from the other four candidates on the ballot. I have been recommending him when I speak with people.
We did meet then, TypoKing. Good to see you here on the Campaign for Liberty.
I frequent Hartford Ribs, almost weekly. Good meat there. :P
