I've got an idea. I've got an idea to recruit more people to our cause and we're going to use the mainstream media's own tools against them. Well, I can't speak for all of mainstream media, just CNN.
First, are you familiar with CNN's iReport? If you are, skip to the next paragraph. If you are not familiar with iReport, read on. IReport, in a few words, is video blogging. Registered users use their webcam to make videos of themselves either ranting or praising issues in the news. Sometimes CNN will post a topic to reply to and the users will record their responses. You can post comments on others' videos and they can post comments on yours.
I propose all of us liberty activists stop blogging on websites where the majority of people agree with us and start video blogging on CNN's iReport. I would say the main type of people who use iReport are the Average Joe's of America -- the type of person who doesn't understand why ending the Department of Education is a good thing; or how the CIA does more bad than good; or how the Fed transfers wealth from the poor to the rich. It's not their fault because they're a product of public education and mainstream media, but this is our chance to use mainstream media's tool against them. Let's open their eyes to what our bloated government is doing to our country.

I think what you've come up with is a great idea. My only question is, how would CNN respond to it? I mean, are the video blogs automatically uploaded or is there a screening process? Could (and would) CNN delete these video blogs if they went against what the network wanted to hear? |
