Greetings Paulistas,
The most powerful and enduring legacy left behind by Ron Paul's 2008 presidential run was not the grass roots campaign that set fundraising records, cured apathy for thousands who had their first political awakening or reawakening; nor was it the fear he brought to the establishment which foolishly banned him from a debate clearly pointing out the folly of our electoral process; nor was it the Campaign for Liberty our precious vehicle for promoting our interests; or even the renewed respect and interest for the Constitution and the common sense principles of our Founders that many of us now hold and cherish dearly.
What is the legacy then? I can describe what happened in two words -NUCLEAR FISSION!!!
From this massive explosion came everyday people like you and me who made a decision, stepped up to the plate, and said we can do better and immersed our selves in politics. Amazingly, this phenomenon occurred across this nation. These highly motivated and courageous people are not wannabe politicians or paid -for shills. They are just regular folks like you and me. Powerful stuff yes. And yes, we must thank Dr. Paul for this.
I write to you today to tell you about just such a person and to ask for your support. Rick Berry is running for a City Council seat in Long Beach, Ca. (Long Beach has perhaps the busiest port in the nation) The election is April 7th, and Paulistas, Rick is definitely a strong candidate firmly in the mix with the main competition coming from two well-funded establishment democrats. Victory is within reach and I implore you to lend a hand and put Rick over the top.Here is how we will do it:
I would like to ask each of you to contribute $10. These are tough economic times, but we think this is doable. In fact, we only need 800 Paulistas to pitch in by March 20th to meet Rick's campaign goals. You can contribute on this website- http://www.berrybest4lb.com.
I want to especially encourage all of the precinct leaders at the Campaign for Liberty to take note and get the word out in your districts. WE CAN SET A VERY IMPORTANT PRECEDENT HERE with this money bomb, for I know there will be more brave patriots that we will need to support in your districts.
Call it the TEN BUCK BOMB or the CAN AND BOTTLE BOMB -I know we can do this and do it well.
Rick Berry is one of us, and supporting people like Rick is where we need to put most of our energy and resources. THIS IS HOW WE WILL AFFECT OUR KIND OF CHANGE.
