Hi,

I am looking forward to working with you to bring individual liberty and freedom to our country. Ron Paul set many of us off on a journey of discovery on the destructive power of the state both at home and abroad. Because of him, I have become interested in monetary policy, economics, and the theory/philosophy of freedom. I hope that you too will join me on not only educating yourself, but also spreading the intoxicating message of liberty to everyone you know.

I was involved extensively in the Ron Paul for President Grand Rapids Meetup where I served as the media coordinator and assistant organizer. It was a difficult yet fun experience where I met lots of people from all over who were drawn by the message of liberty. Now with a little more experience under my belt I'm hoping that we can start really changing things both within the Republican Party and the general population.

Aside from being married with 3 small children (6, 4, & 2), I am a staff anesthesiologist in Grand Rapids. I am a former officer within the Libertarian party locally and at the state level. I am now a delegate for the Kent County GOP. I hope you take the time to tell your story on your profile page for others to read and learn.

For a great read about the nature of liberty I recommend the following links:

America's Great Depression by Murray Rothbard.

The Law by Frederic Bastiat.

The History of the Federal Reserve.

Our favorite Michigan State Representative, Justin Amash (District 72), announced his candidacy for Congress (CD#3) yesterday afternoon. 16 year incumbent, and Republican moderate Vern Ehlers then retired this morning in response (well, he wanted to spend more time with his family) to Justin's bid for the seat.

Right now, we're waiting to see who will jump in to run against Justin. Currently, only one other candidate is in. His name is Michael Van Kleeck who spoke to our group at our Audit the Fed rally back in July. Van Kleeck certainly doesn't have the name ID or legislative record that Amash does so it will be interesting to see how he responds to Amash's announcement. Likely, a number of heavy Republican hitters will also enter the fray over the coming weeks.

Please visit Amash and Van Kleeck's sites to form your opinion on whether they are worthy of your support. Remember, this is a safe Republican district so whoever wins the primary in August almost certainly wins the Congressional seat.

Poll: Who would you prefer to see elected to Michigan's 3rd Congressional Seat?

Justin Amash

I am planning a show in GR on March 11th at 7pm using some experts on the problems with the Family Court and Divorce. I also will plan on working in the Libertarian point of view and the MLP’s plank on it during this talk and maybe even have a LP candidate on that supports the ballot action. How about Justin?
