I am a supervisor for R&L Carriers, an LTL transportation company. In 2004 my father started his own company called M&Z express LLC which was a transportation company. He intended to have me manage his business and he planned to manage the maintenence department. Sadly he developed cancer and we never saw the company fully develope past its initial growth. During the initial phase I spent a lot of time studying economics and business management. Following his death and the solvency of the business I still had vested intrest in continuing what I was studying so at some point I could make my own attempt at starting a business venture of my own. This eventually brought me to Mises Institute and the Austrian School of Economics which is where I familiarized myself with Dr. Paul and the CFL. I've read almost all of the literature you can throw at me and I have began making an effort to purchase hard copy material that I can read and refferrence easier than online text and audio books. If you ever have a question I can quite possably point you to a good piece or article, I have a bookmark folder a mile deep!

Some of my favorite online free reading materials:

http://mises.org/media.aspx?action=category&ID=87 (audiobook) For A New Liberty: The Libertarian Manifesto by Murray Rothbard - This was my second discovery after reading Hazlett's Economics, this made me discover who I am politically.

http://jim.com/econ/contents.html : Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlett - This book was what started it all for me. I thought I was getting into the boring life of economics and the economists "light" if you will, went on in my brain!

http://www.lewrockwell.com/rothbard/betrayal/index.html The Betrayal of the American Right by Murray Rothbard - My favorite resource for arguments, this book lays it out for anyone who has read anything prior and has an idea what is going on.

http://mises.org/books/goldpeace.pdf Gold, Peace and Prosperity by Ron Paul - A great primer for a Gold Standard argument. I have a video from Mises downloaded I'd like to upload soon also to accompany this pamphlet.

Some other cool things:

http://www.goooh.com/ Well thought out political action plan for getting our government back into the hands of the people.

http://www.theadvocates.org/quizp/index.html The worlds smallest Political Quiz -This is not a trick, take the quiz and let me know how you do!

http://www.chancelitton.com/?p=131 Capitolism vs Socialism by Chance Litton - (article) An educational opinion from Mr. Litton followed by some informative exchanges on his blog. A worthwhile read.

http://www.meetup.com/  - Find your local Campaign For Liberty friends who may not be a member to the new site. There are still very active groups who don't frequent the CFL site but still make tremendous headway on their own at meetup!!

http://www.lewrockwell.com/rothbard/rothbard187.html Ron Paul: A most Unusual Politician by Murray Rothbard (article) - This is a forward from the Gold Peace and Prosperity book. I think it deserves it's own little corner spotlight though.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYZM58dulPE Money, Banking and the Federal Reserve - A Mises Institute Presentation on Fractional Reserve Banking featuring Lew Rockwell, Ron Paul and Murray Rothbard. Click the link or simply click play on the preview below. Running time: 42 minutes

The Wall Street Journal

Under a potentially controversial plan still taking shape in the Senate, all legal U.S. workers, including citizens and immigrants, would be issued an ID card with embedded information.

Lawmakers working to craft a new comprehensive immigration bill have settled on a way to prevent employers from hiring illegal immigrants: a national biometric identification card all American workers would eventually be required to obtain.

Under the potentially controversial plan still taking shape in the Senate, all legal U.S. workers, including citizens and immigrants, would be issued an ID card with embedded information, such as fingerprints, to tie the card to the worker.

My brain hurts. How would this stop employees from hiring illegals? Seems like it would just make it more difficult for legals to get jobs.. and keep their privacy at the same time.

For more than a dozen years, the B&B Do It Center in Camarillo, CA, has been offering free doughnuts and coffee to customers. Not anymore.

An anonymous "customer" (maybe a rival store?) called the health department. Now, in what some in this town consider a complete overreach of government, the county has told the store the freebies have to go. They violate food-handling regulations.

If we are $2.T in debt, it would require $63,419.58 a second to pay it back in one year. That's 60 sec X 60 min X 24 hrs X 365 days = 31,536,000 seconds in a year divided from $2.T

$228,310,502.28 an hour for a year. 24 hours X 365 days divided from $2.T

If I work non stop, 24 hours a day for 45 years, I would have to earn and pay $5,073,566.72 an hour to pay off $2.T. That's 24 hrs X 365 days X 45 years divided from $2.T

Lets say 10% of america (appx 30 million people?) work a standard 40 hour work week for one year with no days off or vacation in order to pay off the debt.  That's 2080 hours per person a year X 30 million people = 62.4billion hours. $2.T divided by 62.4B = $32.05 Can I get some volunteers? That's a lot of Chinese dishes to wash! Oh wait! We're allready washing them, they sent them ahead via Wal-Mart.

What is the DPS of most of our federal programs? Have fun with it! What kind of intresting points can you make? See any other formulas to put it in perspective? Startle your neighbors, shock your family. At any rate, enjoy the remaining smiles you can get from it since it will soon be a very somber time to come.

The Pennsylvania Republican State Committee has shown us once again that it is politics as ususal in Harrisburg. The committee has taken it upon itself to anoint who it deems worthy of getting the GOP nod without regard to the voice of "we the people."

The conservative, grassroots groups have been holding protests and tea par ties in hopes of breaking free of the shackles that hold our political system hostage. This includes the "good old boy network" of the state committee, who took it upon itself to not allow the citi zens of Pennsylvania to choose who we want to represent our party.

The argument from the state commit tee would be that "we the people" elect them to make these decisions for us. The problem now is that they no longer listen to us.

Take the moment in history when they gave the GOP nod to Sen. Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey in 2004. This was against the will of many Pennsylva nians, yet the committee went ahead and endorsed Specter. Look at where that decision got us. We now have a once Democrat, turned Republican, turned back into a progressive Democrat, which gave President Barack Obama the 60 votes he needed to possibly push health- care reform through.

We are tired of these games. As I told Specter at a town-hall meeting this summer, "You have awakened the sleep ing giant. We are tired of this." My statement goes for the state GOP com mittee as well. It has overstepped its bounds and summarily dismissed the will of the people who stood outside and asked you to not endorse any candidate. I suggest members wake up as well to see that the tide is turning.

The state GOP committee has slammed the door on true patriotic lead ers such as Rep. Sam Rohrer, who is running for governor. It is time to wake up because "we the people" will no longer tolerate it.

O don't listen to them. Im the secretary for the republicrat party in bannock county Idaho, and many of the good old boys are upset about this revolution taking place. We are upsetting their cocktail party's and its just no good for them.

They will put you down in the most proper way. Just ignore them. It really pisses them off when you thank them for their opinion and simply do it anyway.

You don't need them they need you. Find out how to take their job and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO IT!

A Lebanon County Common Pleas Court ruling on Thursday cleared the way for the city to raise the real-estate tax.

A three-judge panel ruled a portion of the city's Home Rule Charter dealing with taxation limitations is void. The judges also ruled the remainder of the charter is unaffected by their ruling and remains in effect.

In anticipation of a ruling in the city's favor, City Council on Tuesday passed a 7-mill property tax increase on introduction.

Council took action before the court ruling because 10 days must pass after introduction of an ordinance before it can go to a final vote.

The city wanted to pass the ordinance as quickly as possible so that the city's property tax bills could be sent out along with the county property tax bills later this month. It would have cost the city an additional $2,000 to pay for a separate mailing.
