The big story coming out of the New Hampshire straw poll today is that Mitt Romney was victorious. However the MSM has failed to miss is the guy who came in second place...and that is Ron Paul!

From the Politico:

DERRY, N.H. - Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney won the first presidential straw poll of the 2012 cycle, kicking off New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation primary election race.

Romney won with 35 percent, beating second-place finisher Ron Paul by 24 points in the WMUR-ABC News straw poll of members of the state Republican Party. In third place was former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who won 8 percent-just one point ahead of Sarah Palin, who drew 7 percent.

It is widely known that Ron Paul is not the most popular Republican among the party elite, and for him to poll ahead of all the major contenders for the Republican nomination is a good sign.

As everyday passes, more people have come to terms with the message that Ron Paul preaches and it is apparent in this new poll. Ron Paul has the answers for the problems we face as a nation and we in his movement still have more work to accomplish to convince everyone else that he is right.

Even though Mitt Romney took 1st place, and by a decent margin, the second place showing by Congressmen Paul sends a sign to the party elite that he needs to be taken serious and would be the best man to be President of this country.

It is time for the Ron Paul R3VOLUTION once again!!

This is even more impressive, considering that "Only three candidates—Romney, Pawlenty and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum—have spent significant amounts of time on the ground in the state over the past few months. At today’s convention, Pawlenty staffed a table to promote his new book while Santorum consultant and longtime New Hampshire operative Mike Biundo had a table and worked the crowd."

From Conservative for Change

Ron Paul's bill, H.R. 1207, the bill to audit the Federal Reserve system is in the process of being water downed by neoconservatives. This bill would provide transparency in to the dealings of the Federal Reserve and open them up to the public for the first time since 1913 when the Fed was created.

Austin Petersen from the Libertarian Party is the one that has exposed this revelation, and here is a portion of his article explaining what is happening:

HR 1207, the bill to Audit the Fed, now has 179 co-sponsors. Currently the leadership of the two parties has not addressed this legislation until recently. A Senate audit bill that is unrelated to HR 1207 titled "HC-45" was introduced to audit the Fed and was promptly amended to limit the scope. It appears now that a so-called limited government Republican by the name of Richard Shelby did the watering down of the bill. Apparently he has written into the margins of the bill in pencil "with respect to a single and specific partnership or corporation." That means that the scope of the GAO's audit has been severely limited. This modified version of the amendment does not give GAO authority to look at all of the additional taxpayer risk. Why the secrecy congressmen? Senator Charles Grassley conceded to the amendments, and has therefore shown his stripes as willing to compromise the financial security of the United States citizenry for his own political gain.

Voters would do well to remember Senator Grassley and Shelby as people who do not support oversight or transparency into the monetary system of the United States. These Senators have abdicated their responsibility to the people and should immediately step down

.

My calls to the Senators went unanswered, but that will not stop me from getting an answer.

It is vital that this legislation go through the Congress as written. It is time we start opening up the dealings of government agencies in an effort to expose abuse and negligence.

Call these two Senators and demand that they remove this amendment from the bill and represent the taxpayers of this country. Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121

From Conservative For Change

For the loyal readers that read this blog everyday, they will understand my support for Congressman Ron Paul and the philosophy that he preaches day in and day out. I will be the first to admit that I wasn't a fan of Ron Paul at the beginning, but after the primary in Colorado, and regretting who I voted for, I read Congressman Paul's "The Revolution" and it changed my philosophy, or what I would say, reaffirmed my philosophy. It made me realize what true conservatism really is, and not what the party hacks in the Republican Party make it out to be.

Foreign Policy

I remember watching Fox News after one of the debates for the Republican primary, and Sean Hannity had the Congressman on afterwards, and started to challenge him on whether or not the United States invited the attacks on 9/11. I stopped to listen and figured out that Ron Paul was right; but the mainstream media (Hannity being included) tried to silence the truth coming from Congressman Paul. This the main reason that Ron Paul is looked over by ordinary Republicans, for his foreign policy views. The sad thing is most Republicans don't realize their own history.

Take for example this quote from Ron Paul:

How did we win the election in the year 2000? We talked about a humble foreign policy: No nation-building; don't police the world. That's conservative, it's Republican, it's pro-American - it follows the founding fathers. And, besides, it follows the Constitution.

This is the philosophy of the Founding Fathers, and it was the philosophy of the Republican Party until the neoconservatives took over. They influenced themselves over a President who abandoned his principles for the sake of conducting an empire mentality.

Economics

The most obvious reason for today's conservatives to get behind Ron Paul is the economy. He has been the most consistent member of Congress when it comes to voting on economic issues. He is also the most knowledgeable member who not only understands how the economy should function, but rather how it was meant to function.

The words of Ron Paul:

A system of capitalism presumes sound money, not fiat money manipulated by a central bank. Capitalism cherishes voluntary contracts and interest rates that are determined by savings, not credit creation by a central bank.

He was right during the primaries...he was the only true conservative running for President on the Republican side. He understands that capitalism is the only way to advance freedom, and ensure the individual true Liberty.

The Constitution

As for the Constitution, Ron Paul is the current keeper of the all important document in the government. He is one of the only people to understand what it says, and actually follow it; instead of saying he does and then going off and doing something completely different.

The Constitution, and what the Founding Fathers planned out, is the essential element of this man. He stays true to principle, and allows the governing law of the land dictate how he votes, and what he believes. This is very rare anymore these days, especially in the United States Congress and the Republican Party.

The Time Has Come

The time has come for conservatives to get behind Ron Paul, and candidates that share the ideology of Liberty and Freedom. This is what true conservatism is really about, and the faster Republicans realize this, the faster we can fix the problems that plague this nation.

The R3VOLUTION is here!

html

Here at Conservative for Change we are always on the look out for potential liberty loving candidates that will adhere to the U.S. Constitution, and support free markets and sound money. It is important that we get back to the ideals of our founding fathers to govern this Republic and take us into the future as a more prosperous nation and people.

There is a new candidate that is emerging from my home state of Colorado, and his name is Ryan Frazier. He is a young city councilman from Aurora, Colorado that has just announced his exploratory committee for the United States Senate seat up for election next year. He preaches the ideal of Liberty, and does it in a way that will sure draw a lot of attention.

Face the State, a Colorado political website, had this to say about Ryan:

Frazier...has been hailed as a key GOP up-and-comer to watch, increasingly known for a preacher-like cadence during his passionate first-hand testimonial calls for personal responsibility and freedom. At the Douglas County Central Committee meeting this year, women stood on their chairs shouting "amen!" as he spoke.

On his website for Senate he explains himself as follows:

Ryan believes that every Coloradoan, every American wants to make a life for themselves and their families and that's why liberty matters so much. He is motivated to work for a Colorado that's prosperous with jobs and business, where everyone has an opportunity to make a life for themselves, and the liberty to live their life as they believe best.

Ryan has been involved with a local Libertarian group, Liberty on the Rocks, as well, and it has allowed him to promote the ideals and beliefs that a lot of us hold dear.

Ryan Frazier is a candidate that the Ron Paul crowd can get on board with, and lead him to victory in Colorado. It is critical we get candidates that will actually stand up for strict Constitutional principles, and Ryan Frazier is one that seems like he will.

That is why Ryan Frazier is a Conservative for Change, and we throw our support behind him to take Colorado back into the hands of Liberty.
