See below for the latest plan of attack:

Dear Nola patriots,

At the meeting last night it was determined that we should put all things aside temporarily and put all our energies behind one thing at the moment: H.R. 1207. The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009. Our goal is one and one only (for the time being) and that is to get our Congressmen to co-sponsor or at the very least support this legislation. To do this we (Nola Campaign for Liberty) have decided to create one organization that will have two goals, and subsequently two names. If you live in Representative Scalise's District, you will refer to your organization as "Transparency for Scalise?" and if you are in Cao's, "Transparency for Cao?". the QUESTION MARK is emphisized. Together we are the Fed Transparency Alliance. For Example if I were to call into a talk radio station I would identify myself by saying, "Hello, my name is Nate Thompson. As a member of the grassroots organization Transparency for Scalise [question mark] we are creating awareness that our Congressman has not decided whether or not he would like to support a bill that will audit an organization that has given out over 2.2 TRILLION dollars and won't tell Congress to whom or how much they have given. It is that simple" Etc., etc.

As part of this alliance we will have four (4) teams. We ask you to please pick a team that suits your interests, find out what needs to be done from your team captain, and get going. As long as you can do something, I don't care how small, WE NEED YOU NOW!!!

Here are the teams:
Awareness and Grassroots (A&G) Team - This can be as guerilla or as sophisticated as you want it to be, but this team's task is to do what ever in your capacity to create awareness. If you would like to hold banners on the highway, go for it. If you would like to go door to door, do it tonight! The goal here is to get other people to call Scalise and Gao to tell them to Audit the Fed and Co-sponsor HR 1207.

Media Relations (MR) Team - This team is going to do just what it sounds, they are going to create as much buzz as they can through the various media outlets available. This could include writing newspaper editorials, calling radio stations, trying to become a guest on a radio station, whatever. If it involves some type of mass media, we want them to know about HR 1207. Remember 2.2 Trillion dollars (approximately 1/7th worth of our entire annual economy) has gone missing and they won't tell us where it is!!!

Organization Synergy (OS) Team - This team is going to get volunteers to go to other meetings, be it organizations of their own or ones they just know of, and ask to have a few minutes to present to their members the details on why we think they and their members should urge their congressman to support H.R. 1207.

Internal Motivation (IM) Team - This team has the job of recruiting the people we have already identified in the liberty/small government/ conservative movements, and get them to join this crusade.

THAT'S IT!

Right now we have temporary captains. These people were not elected, but have just stepped up to the plate. There is no authority here just aid, assistance, and a communication hub for the work that will hopefully get done.

Here are the people that have stepped up so far.
A&G - Chris Bradford - cbradfor@uno.edu, 577-0404
MR - Alan Pond - ukmole@yahoo.com
OS - Nate Thompson - nate.p.thompson@gmail.com, 512-296-5069
IM - Ben Montgomery - ben.montgomery@gmail.com, 272-2686

Please contact them as soon as you can once you figure out what you want to do. We don't have time to waste!

Without further adieu, lets get going!
Nate Thompson

On Thursday July 23rd members of District 1 and 2 had our kick-off meeting for our membership drive.

The goal is to increase our ranks to 500 members and 100 paying members by the time Ron Paul gets to town in the beginning of September.

We had a great turn out and raised enough money to have a table at the gun show for the weekend.

Many thanks to Nate Thompson (District 1 Coordinator) for organizing the meeting.  Rob Waldron the North Shore District 1 Coordinatot also made the drive in for the meeting.

Tom Ranking (Louisiana State Coordinator) and his wife were there as well.  Tom has begun a discussion of a state sovereinty bill on the C4L state forum.  Give it a look. http://www.campaignforliberty.com/forums/viewtopic.php?topic=2613

Action Items:

1. Get the low hanging fruit on board.  Family members, close friends, other Ron Paul supporters who have not signed on.

2. Join one of the committees and find out when there next event is.  The groups are:

       a. Grassroots/Awareness Activities - Nate Thompson

       b. Media Campaign Activities - Ben Montgomery

       c. Membership Communication and Recruitment - Chris Herbert

Below are a few pics from the event.

Congressman Cao has now signed on to HR 1207.  The only remaining hold out for the Louisiana delegation is Congressman Melancon.

Everyone that called and wrote Cao should be commended.  Our work is paying off.

Next up is the Senate.  So let's do our part and make sure that our Senators are in the leading pack signing on to co-soponsor S 604.

The fight for transparency is far from over.

Yes, but to actually go a bit further and say "You can not truly realize freedom until you are ready to let someone else realize theirs."
