jamesbrittlyons East Peoria, IL | A great step forward! Fortunately, my representative is a co-sponsor of the bill. I do, however, have a question in regard to....
(430 ILCS 65/13.1) (from Ch. 38, par. 83‑13.1)
Sec. 13.1.
The provisions of any ordinance enacted by any municipality which requires registration or imposes greater restrictions or limitations on the acquisition, possession and transfer of firearms than are imposed by this Act, are not invalidated or affected by this Act.
(Source: P. A. 76‑1939.)
I don't really know how much significance this holds. It seems to be something we should be concerned about though. Thoughts? |

AlbertGallatin Port Byron, IL | James,
430 ILCS 65/13.1, is the FOID Card Act.
I am no lawyer, but I suspect that the mentioned legislation will be exclusive of one another.
Kind regards,

I was in the Toyota dealership the other day and was totally blown away by the cover story from a local paper entitled " The Future of Money?: With the Economy a Wreck, Alternative Currencies Could Gain Traction."
The publisher of this paper laid it all on the line an even mentions Dr. Paul's bill (H.R. 2755) in his commentary in the same paper at" Neither Federal Nor Reserve."
Even better, there are video links, one of them highlights Dr. Paul.
Kind regards,
- Al

We need to act on this. And while you are right Jonathan... it will never be, if we don't work to change it starting today. After all, that's what our movement is about, us working to change things.

larrywarrick BOCA RATON, FL | USC Amendment II states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Since when did any government entity have any authority whatsoever to limit the right of any citizen to carry a concealed (or otherwise) weapon of any kind? The question should hinge around repealing these unlawful regulations, not on whether a free man (or woman) has the right to defend themselves, property and loved ones against any act of violence or intrusion by use of a concealed weapon. Asking the government to allow exercise of an inelienable right is like asking permission to breathe. Where does this end? |

AlbertGallatin Port Byron, IL | Gentlemen,
You are preaching to the choir.
But may I say this as a man who has made a living in the firearms training industry for more than 20 years?
I am a firm believer that a person who will not pick up a pen and put it to paper in order to protest and try to reason for his rights will ever put a finger to a trigger in order to protect his rights.
Warm regards,
- Al |

Raging debate locally in QCOnline that you all should get in on now...
Please click above link, read article and post comments.
"Illinois law enforcement officials are divided over a new attempt to permit the state's residents to carry concealed handguns.
Rep. John Bradley, D-Marion, has proposed a "Family and Personal Protection Act" that would set statewide standards for issuing concealed-carry permits and would exempt permit holders from various unlawful use of weapons laws. The bill, HB0245, was referred to the rules committee after first reading last week.
Similar bills have been introduced, and shunted aside, in most recent legislative sessions. This year, though, the idea could get a boost from the Illinois Sheriff's Association.
That group's new president, Henry County Sheriff Gib Cady, a supporter of concealed-carry laws, will urge the association to endorse the idea when it holds its annual meeting at the i wireless Center in Moline in February. He said he believes a majority of Illinois' 102 county sheriffs support a concealed-carry law provided there is training and background checks.
He said statistics show crime goes down in states with concealed-carry laws..."

Heather D Port Byron, IL | We should all be contacting our state reps to encourage them on this legislation. This would be a HUGE win for liberty. The comments at the end of the article seem to suggest that most are in favor of the right to carry, despite the views of some liberals on there that are pretty illogical and almost funny. Thanks for the find Albert! |

Scott D Chicago, IL | I don't think the Chicago/Cook County machine will get behind this but I will definately contact Rep. Fritchey and Sen. Cullerton to call for support of this legislation. Thanks for posting this info.
