Saturday, November 20th the C4L in San Bernardino County will be having its last official meeting of the year. And to celebrate the upcoming holidays, we will have as our last meeting a Holiday Liberty Lunch & Food Drive.
This event will be a potluck, so bring your favorite dish to share! This will also be a great time for "first-timers", if you've never been to one of our C4L events. Also, clear out your pantry of any canned goodies, as we'll collect them for a local food bank. The event will be in Apple Valley and will start at 2:00 PM.
Check out the Calender section for more information. Hope to see you there!

Poll: Will you be running for your Central Committee this June?
The LA Times online has a recent short article regarding Ron Paul and his efforts to Audit the Federal Reserve, and how the bill (HR 1207) is being gutted:
Paul, who ran for president last year, wants the Fed to open the door on all of its secret transactions -- the talks with foreign banks, the deliberations on monetary policy, the activities of the Open Market Committee, and the communications with the regional reserve banks.
In the shadows of Wall Street's collapse last year, he has attracted more 300 co-sponsors, including 130 Democrats.
But this week, he charged, the provision was gutted from the landmark financial reform legislation being marked up by Barney Frank's Financial Services Committee. Paul blamed the chair of the subcommittee on monetary policy, North Carolina Democrat Mel Watt, whose Charlotte district is home to the headquarters of Bank of America, the nation's largest commercial bank.
Today on a local Los Angeles public radio station (KPCC), Representative Ron Paul and Senator Bernie Sanders were interviewed about their efforts to audit the Federal Reserve in Congress.
The program host, Pat Morrison, took some callers who had questions for Rep. Paul. The interviews were good except for a few distractions regarding the health care issue and questioning Obama's birthplace.
Dr. Paul gave excellent on point responses to all the questions thrown his way in this interview. Especially w/ the last question coming out of right field.
In my opinion, and sorry it is off topic, but the president is the commander in cheif, and his general in the war theater has requested more troops for almost a month and a half. The president hasn't even bothered to talk to his general, let alone answer his request. To my way of thinking, that is derelection of duty. Now, I agree with Dr. Paul, our military belongs here, defending our soil, not all over the world, but we have troops that are already committed to this war and we need a president that is going to act swiftly to insure that our soldiers have what they need to do their jobs, or bring them home. Right now, we are letting our own men and women die. Just my opinion.
Something I rarely hear from anyone is the issue of outsourcing. After dealing with Whirlpool's non existant customer service,a rekindled thought struck me. This administration and all the ones before try and do in many instances, impose government regulation on businesses, yet one of the only types of regulation that would make sense isn't ever talked about, let alone implemented. I am talking about outsourcing. American companies that hire foreign employees to answer their customer service calls, and do your taxes. In a time when we have millions of Americans that are out of work, no one has mentioned these companies that make their profits here from American consumers, and then send jobs to foriegn countries. Every American company that has moved it's factory in order to hire cheap foreign labor and then send the product back here for American consumption should be taxed with a heavy import tax, whether it is on the product or the labor.Think of the jobs that have been lost to American workers. Right now especially we need every job we can get.
The problem with some Americans is they fail to cop-a-clue
on withdrawal from the theatre of war in Iraq or Afghanistan.
It's rather simple. However long it takes for cargo ships to steam to the theatre and start loading up on heavy armour and equipment. Planes to load up on soldiers and light armour to bring back to the U.S.
It's real simple if the U.S. can withdraw from Iraq & Afghanistan they can start withdrawing from the 120 countries they have military missions in.
What could a sane U.S. gov't do with the extra money it saved in closing military missions?
I fail to sympathize with lefties who try and argue salvation through an omnibus gov't.
Why would you support a gov't that continually uses monetary subterfuge to create an anaemic middle class while favoring crony companies that set up shop in countries that don't have liberal trade policies with the U.S. with tax and tariff ?
The rule should be:
Free trade for those that trade freely, often & fairly.
Barriers against business manufacturing in the U.S. should stop.
