For now, the executive board and committees are busy and you are welcome to join a meeting conference call or volunteer for a committee. We'd like your input!

Republican Liberty Caucus Endorses Texas Candidates Texas Leads the Nation in Liberty Republican Campaigns at Every Level

This week the National Board of the Republican Liberty Caucus finalized its list of endorsees for state and national office in the Texas Republican primary on March 2nd. The endorsements are based on recommendations from regional RLC chapters throughout the state. The RLC has endorsed more Congressional candidates in Texas than in any other state.

After reviewing the list, RLC Chairman Dave Nalle observed that "Ron Paul and Jerry Patterson have shown us that liberty Republicans can win state and federal offices in Texas and this year the selection of candidates is outstanding at every level. Texas will lead the way to restoring the tradition of liberty in the GOP." This round of endorsements includes only candidates who are in contested primaries. We look forward to great success when they carry on to victory in the general election in November.

Debra Medina, Governor (www.medinafortexas.com)

Tyler Russell, US House District 8 (www.tylerrussellforcongress.com)

Joe Petronis, US House District 10 (www.petronisforcongress.com)

Ron Paul, US House District 14 (www.ronpaulforcongress.com)

Stephen Schoppe, US House District 21 (www.schoppe.us)

George Morovich, US House District 25 (www.morovich.com)

 Jessica Puente-Bradshaw, US House District 27 (www.texansforjessica.com)

Dick Bowen, Texas State Senate District 19 (www.dickbowen.com)

Ryan Lambert, Texas House District 50 (www.lambertfortexas.org)

Holly Turner, Texas House District 47 (www.hollyfortexas.com)

Ken Mercer, Texas State Board of Education Place 5 (www.votekenmercer.com)

Brian Russell, Texas State Board of Education Place 10 (www.brianrussell.net)

Melissa Goodwin, Judge, Third Court of Appeals (www.judgegoodwin.com)

Mike Barré, Travis County Justice of the Peace District 3 (www.barrefortexas.com)

These candidates represent the best that the Republican Party has to offer this year. They are visionary reformers, dedicated to the principles of limited government, free enterprise and individual liberty. They join hundreds of other RLC candidates around the country who are part of our effort to elect a cadre of new leaders who will guide the Republican Party and our government back to the principles on which the nation was founded and which are embodied in the Constitution and Declaration of Independence.

I took it upon myself to send the following letter to Lou Dobbs about Debra Medina. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea is more than welcome to do the same. His email address is lou@loudobbs.com . Below is a copy of the email I wrote him...

Mr. Lou Dobbs,

First and foremost, if these words reach your eyes, it is truly an honor. Mr. Dobbs, to jump straight to the point, we here in your home state desperately need your assistance. The Texas Republican Gubernatorial Primary has shockingly turned from a typical lesser-of-two-evils gagfest into an inspiring, legitimate three-way contest. The inspiration, for me and many others across our great state, comes in the form of former registered nurse and Wharton county GOP chairman Debra Medina. I am just a normal college student, and am in no way associated with Ms. Medina or her campaign. I send you this urgent request not because I have an ulterior motive, but because I think we the people have an extremely rare opportunity to do something very special down here.

In short, Debra Medina is running on protecting private property rights (the elimination of property tax and severe curtailment of the use of eminent domain), preserving 2nd amendment rights, and securing our state's border with Mexico. Mr. Dobbs... this woman is the real deal.

However, a few days ago she was sandbagged on what she had to assume was friendly territory, the Glenn Beck Show. Personally, I've always believed Beck is/was a stooge, meant to do little but co-opt, misdirect, and discredit the Tea Party Movement. However, many within the movement themselves (I do not consider myself a "tea partier") were huge fans of Beck, and felt just a blindsided and betrayed by his "gotcha" journalism as Ms. Medina herself must feel. Beck threw a "9/11 Truther" accusation at her, and apparently her saying she believes the official story but respects others' rights to question their government was not sufficiently neoconservative for him.

Mr. Dobbs, I know that you yourself have appeared on the controversial Alex Jones Show (one of the founders of the 9/11 Truth Movement), and so I know you must be somewhat familiar with this movement's beliefs and goals, despite probably disagreeing with a great many of them. Debra Medina is in that exact same position, and is now being smeared with false accusations and guilt by association by both Hutchinson and Perry without enough monetary ammunition to effectively counter. At the risk of being melodramatic, there really and truly is only one media personality that can appeal to the audience Ms. Medina needs to win this election, and that is you sir.

Of course I would never ask your support for someone you think is not clearly the best possible choice and most in line with your own perspectives. That is why my first humble request is that you visit www.medinafortexas.com and decide for yourself if she is worthy of you sticking your neck out. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. If you decide that this is someone you would like to leverage your reputation and mass populist appeal to help, there are three ways I can envision you doing so. The first and most demanding would be to offer to come on back home for a few days and share the campaign stage with Ms. Medina. The second is a simple public written endorsement for her as our next Governor of Texas. Failing these two, the third would be to have Ms. Medina on your radio show and give her the fair interview she was denied by Beck. I know each of these three requests will probably initially seem extraordinary to you, and may additionally be seen as a risk if you are indeed planning on running for public office in the future (hoping with fingers crossed by the way). However, extraordinary times call for extraordinary measures, and these are indeed such times.

Rick "Santa Anna" Perry, seconded by Glenn Beck, has laid siege to the Alamo sir. Please consider this message akin to James Bowie desperately writing for reinforcements. To paraphrase Jim Bowie, "the salvation of Texas depends in great measure on keeping (the governorship) out of the hands of the enemy. It serves as the frontier picquet guard, and if it (again) were in the possession of (Rick Perry), there is no stronghold from which to repel him in his march toward the (Potomac)." Furthermore, "(Debra Medina) and myself have come to the solemn resolution that we will rather die in these ditches than give it up to the enemy."

Mr. Dobbs...
"Remember the Alamo!"
"Remember Goliad!"
Remember too the somewhat obscure historical fact that it was the MEDINA RIVER that halted any chance of a siege on the unprepared and unprotected Alamo. And remember that, despite Idaho, Harvard, and now New Jersey, you will always be a native son of Texas. With your help, I am confident that March 2, 2010 will be our new San Jacinto.

History whispers to you softly sir. Will you answer her call?

In liberty and brotherhood,
-J. Aaron Barnes

This is the BELO - WFAA debate from Friday night (they did a much better job moderating and keeping the candidates on track):

Neither Kay nor Rick showed up for the press conference after either one of the debates.

Like I said, it's closed, they only left it open a few hours the night of the debate.  But look at those numbers!!!!!

With the release of John's statement, I wanted to take a minute to fill you in on what has been happening out here in Colorado.

I have been amazed at the effect the survey has had on other candidates. Several candidates have called and/or emailed me asking to fill out the survey or to tell me they have mailed in the form. This includes some who flat-out refused to fill it out before. Incumbents have also taken notice. Both CO C4L and I are being treated with much more respect now, instead of being written off as far-out "Ron Paulers" (which I proudly am!).

In speaking with Ken Buck last year, I found that he has been "educated" into a complete 180 regarding the Federal Reserve, and he is actively calling out Bennet to co-sponsor S. 604. Yesterday, he also chastised Bennet for his "yes" vote to confirm Bernanke for a second term. With his stance on the war, he is not perfect, but I have learned that he is teachable! He has also been working with three main C4L organizers in CO to learn about what we stand for, and he has read several of Ron Paul's books (The Revolution twice).

Yes, the commercial should have been different, but the survey has already had a great impact out here in CO, and I'm looking forward to continuing to hold politicians accountable for where they stand on our issues.
