Welcome current and new members. Today we are faced with federal and state governments who are legislating us towards disaster. Instead of realizing that the causes of this situation were born of their own actions, they shout from the mountain tops that they must "Do Something!" to fix the problem that our free society created. I say it is we liberty loving common citizens who must "Do Something!" to stop this insanity and right the ship towards a destination founded on the principles of individual liberty , constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a non-interventionist foreign policy. I urge you to use the tools below and elsewhere on this site to educate and enable yourselves and others to realize that goal and return our republic to liberty by first focusing your efforts to our local and state governments. We must first build a strong foundation as this campaign is not for one office or election but for the mortality of our liberty.

BART GORDON COSPONSORS HR1207!!!!!!
Thanks to a lot of hard work from many of our county organization members. Rep. Bart Gordon has cosponsored Ron Paul's bill to Audit the Federal Reserve HR1207. It took 300 petitions, two front page articles, and an on the spot question at a town hall meeting, but all of our hard work paid off in the end. Please continue to support this legislation by working to gain signatures for the senate companion bill the "Federal Reserve Sunshine Act" S604 in order to lobby our Senators to follow suit. Blank petitions can be found under the materials tab of this site. Again, thank you all for your hard work and remember, "We get the government we deserve".
If you're going to be in the New Orleans area next week, come join us at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC)!
Congressman Paul will be addressing the Conference on Saturday, April 10, and the event also shares the weekend with the French Quarter Festival, where you can enjoy over 150 musical performances, as well as the cuisine and culture of the Big Easy.
When CPAC ended, there was no doubt that our movement, our enthusiasm for the principles of liberty, and our dedication to reclaiming our country are stronger than ever. Help us keep the momentum for our message going by joining us at SRLC next week!
I told you when I walked through the door and shuck your hand that I had a series of questions for you. You where aware of the situation, but you may have forgotten and that is ok. I did present them to your campaign manager, and if he is any good at his job, which I am sure he is, he should have presented them to you. I do not need nor am I requesting a face to face meeting. All I require is an honest written response to my questions. After communicating my concerns with others, several of my contacts replied and agreed with my brief evaluation. And we have lots of other questions as well, these are just the first seven that will be presented to you from across the district. I will attach the first questions to this message.
I will give you high marks on responding to my complaint however, that is something Bart has refused to do. I was hoping that my complaint would find its way to you. I am sorry you feel that I wrongfully drew comparisons between you and Mr. Gordon. We are just trying to make sure that Republicans are not tricked again by those who talk about traditional republican principles but never seem to vote on those principles. I look forward at you proving me incorrect.
It was your speech more than anything, that caused me to place you in the neo-conservative pool. When you were discussing the constitution and small government you had to refer to you notes several times. This type of body language indicates that these are not things you really believe in, because if you did you would not have to refer to your notes. Also, I heard very little detail in your speech, it was in my opinion 90% rhetoric and of little use to me the undecided voter. I believe, especially in a time of crisis, that we should run on our most republican platform, enough of the centrist garbage. You also seemed to express some fatal and illogical contradictions. You can't be pro-life and pro-war, that is a contradiction. Being pro-life means your are anti-war, but not anti self-defense.
I believe in the concept of real truth. Which means that I will admit when I was wrong. If you show me that my reasoning and understanding are inaccurate in the formulation of the opinion I expressed regarding your principles and platform. I will correct them, and be one of your loudest voices.

In my emails to you over the past couple of weeks, I've shown you why Washington has no choice but to devalue the dollar - and how global leaders and even the United Nations have joined the attack on the greenback by demanding it be replaced as the world's reserve currency.
Now, just this week, the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank have begun adding their voices to the international choir calling for a new global reserve currency:
* Last week, World Bank President Robert Zoellick warned that the dollar's status will be challenged and shouldn't be taken for granted.
* According to Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Ali Babacan, it's likely that the role of special drawing rights (SDRs) based on a basket of currencies will be discussed as an alternative to the dollar during meetings of the World Bank and IMF in Istanbul next week.
* Meanwhile, global governments, central banks, companies and investors continue to slash their dollar holdings. According to the IMF, in April through June of this year, the greenback's share of global currency reserves fell to the lowest level in a decade. Holdings of euros, in contrast, rose to a new all-time record high.
All this adds weight and momentum to the devaluation of the dollar. It is DEFINITELY ON THE TABLE. Indeed, for the first time I can remember, the G-7 finance officials, meeting this weekend, are rumored to be breaking with tradition and choosing not to release a statement on the global economy and currencies.
I feel this is an extremely significant development: At last week's G-20 meeting, the group officially anointed itself as being in charge of global economic affairs.
Plus, we now have the G-7 refusing to discuss the dollar, which is highly unusual. Many will say that, if the G-7 does indeed refuse to comment on the dollar at this weekend's meeting, it's merely a sign they're beginning to turn the reigns over to the G-20 for currency matters.
Baloney! The G-7 WILL discuss the huge "global economic imbalances" in the world. And to me, that's code talk for a currency devaluation on the agenda. Members of the G-7 ARE discussing it. They're just NOT doing it in public.
It reminds me of the 1985 Plaza Accord, where James Baker committed the U.S. to a depreciating dollar, bulldozing over our creditors, and ultimately precipitating the ‘87 crash.
The difference: Back then the U.S. was in a position to lead the devaluation. Today, it's not. Today, our creditors are going to bulldoze over us.

The MTSU YAL and Rutherford County TN Campaign for Liberty delivered 233 HR1207 pettions to Rep. Bart Gordon's (D) office in early August. MTSU YAL president Stephen Parvin read a blow striking letter before the delivery outside of Gordon's office. Rep. Gordon has yet to respond to our petitions although when Gordon expressed that he had not yet considered the bill after being questioned by Stephen at a town hall meeting the week following the petition delivery, Stephen handed him a copy of HR1207 along with the current law just in case he happened to loose track of it again.
Below is the copied text from the letter we delivered to Bart Gordon's office on Aug 14th. A copy of the letter was given to the Daily News Journal who also covered the story. Videos will be posted on numerous websites ASAP. This letter was delivered along with 233 HR 1207 petitions collected this summer by District 6 patriots!!! I would like to thank everyone who was involved in this long process. Lots of time and money has gone in to the 1207 movement.
Also, check out auditthefed.com if you haven't already. It's a great idea, I'm glad it has it's own website.
August 14, 2009
Bart Gordon
US Congressman, TN District 6
305 West Main Street
Murfreesboro, TN 37130
Dear Mr. Gordon:
I am writing to ask you to support HR 1207, commonly known as “Audit the Fed.” This bill will soon come to a vote in the House of Representatives.Since its introduction in February 2009, it has now gained 282 cosponsors in the House, including several of your fellow Tennessean Congressmen and women.
The purpose of this bill is to eliminate the current restrictions placed on the audits of the Federal Reserve System as performed by the Government Accountability Office. These restrictions can be found in 31 USC 714 of the US Code.I have included copies of this section for your reference, along with copies of the bill.
These restrictions prevent Congress and the American citizens from truly understanding the current monetary policies of our country. It is a right of the citizen to know not only how their money is being spent, but also protected. It is the duty of the politician to protect and represent the citizen. Therefore, it is easy to see why over 70,000 petitions have been collected nationwide in support of HR 1207.
Not only does the Federal Reserve operate without proper accountability, but it has utterly failed in its stated mission to “provide the nation with a safe, flexible, and stable monetary and financial system.”This clearly is not what has happened.
The purchasing power of the US Dollar has fallen over 95% since the Fed was created in 1913.
If a man in his 30’s decides to start saving for retirement, he will have to save three dollars today in order to have one dollar 30 years from now.It is currently more advantageous to spend money now while you have it rather than save it as it is constantly depreciating in value. This is not the sign of a stable monetary system. It is the foreshadowing of hyperinflation and a complete monetary breakdown.
The list of failures goes on and on.In its July press release the Fed itself has projected unemployment to be at 9.9% in 2009, and remain at 8.6% by 2011.That amounts to currently 30.4 Million people without jobs, and by 2011 still 26.4 Million unemployed.
US Debt has increased from $449 Billion in 1973 to $6 Trillion in 2003, only 30 years later.Current US debt is $11.7 trillion, nearly doubled in only 6 years.
We cannot continue to let this Central Bank destroy our nation’s wealth. This kind of tyranny would not be allowed by most of our Founding Fathers.President Andrew Jackson, a Tennessee Democrat, completely abolished the Second Bank of America in 1832.Despite his faults, he understood the dangers of central banking. He is quoted to have said to Martin Van Buren, “The Bank is trying to kill me, but I will kill it!”
I bring to you today over 200 signed petitions from District 6 Tennesseans who agree with me and the hundreds of thousands of Americans around the country. We must be able to see where the Federal Reserve is taking us.It is your job to lead us and to protect our nation’s wealth, not a group of unelected bankers.Sign on as a cosponsor of HR 1207, and vote YES when it comes to the floor.
I sincerely hope that you will hear the voices of your constituency, and decide to do what is ultimately right for our country.
Grass-roots effort aims to pass law to rein in Federal Reserve
A local grass-roots group seeking full disclosure of Federal Reserve loans picked up a 300th petitioner as they rallied Friday in front of U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon's Murfreesboro office. Woodbury resident Nancy Cox was sitting in her parked car on West Main Street near the Public Square as about 13 Campaign for Liberty members stopped for a reading of a letter to Gordon. "I'll sign," said Cox, a Democrat who's currently unemployed after leaving a job to help her dying mother, the late Annie Cox, an 86-year-old West Side School teacher until her death in July. "I believe in what they are doing. We need new government, especially when you start saving your pennies, nickels and dimes. All the jobs in Woodbury are going overseas." About 12 men and one woman delivered 233 petitions in support of House Bill 1207 to the Democratic congressman's West Main Street office in Murfreesboro around noon Friday. The group in late April also delivered 77 petitions, so the new ones push the total to 300. The documents backing the "Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009" were signed by constituents of Gordon's 6th Congressional District, local Campaign for Liberty coordinator Stephen Parvin said. Before the group entered Gordon's office, Parvin stood on the sidewalk to read aloud a letter addressed to the congressman. "Not only does the Federal Reserve operate without proper accountability, but it has utterly failed in its stated mission to 'provide the nation with a safe, flexible, and stable monetary and financial system,'" read Parvin, who's president of the MTSU chapter of Young Americans For Liberty. "This clearly is not what has happened." Parvin, who's a sophomore MTSU economics major, was flanked by two men carrying signs. Lascassas community resident Jim Sandman held one that said, "Inflation is a tax - Audit the FED - H.R. 1207." MTSU junior political science major Eric Sharp had a sign that stated, "Audit the FED - HR 1207."
Gordon is still reviewing the legislation, according to a statement e-mailed from his Washington, D.C., press secretary Kinsey Kiriakos. I appreciate that my constituents came to my office and voiced their concerns about H.R. 1207," Gordon said in the statement. "My colleagues on the House Financial Services Committee are currently considering this bill. I look forward to reviewing their recommendations about it and other measures aimed at improving our financial regulatory system."
Fed Inflation Campaign For Liberty contends the purchasing power of the U.S. dollar has fallen by more than 95 percent since the Federal Reserve was formed in 1913. "It's a hidden tax," said Sandman, who's retired from the Navy. "Whenever they print money, the value of the dollar goes down." Sharp agreed. "The Federal Reserve is quite literally destroying this country," Sharp said. "Even if you want a central bank, this one is doing a lousy job." Sharp said he's worried about the unknown Federal Reserve activities that go beyond bailouts of American banks and automakers. "We want to know what countries this money is going to," Sharp said. "They refuse to answer," added Zachary Camp, an MTSU senior history major and economics minor. "We'd like an answer."
Campaign For Liberty The proposed legislation came from U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, a Texan who launched Campaign for Liberty after running unsuccessfully for the Republican Party's presidential nomination in 2008, according to Wikipedia. "I am writing to ask you to support HR 1207, commonly known as 'Audit the Fed,'" Parvin's letter to Gordon states. "This bill will soon come to a vote in the House of Representatives. Since its introduction in February 2009, it has now gained 282 cosponsors in the House, including several of your fellow Tennessean Congressmen and women." The purpose of the legislation is to eliminate restrictions placed on the Government Accountability Office audits of the Federal Reserve, the letter states. "These restrictions prevent Congress and the American citizens from truly understanding the current monetary policies of our country. It is a right of the citizen to know not only how their money is being spent but also protected. It is the duty of the politician to protect and represent the citizen. Therefore, it is easy to see why over 70,000 petitions have been collected nationwide in support of HR 1207." The letter notes how President Andrew Jackson, a Tennessee Democrat, completely abolished the Second Bank of America in 1832 because he understood the dangers of central banking.

In this recent video Senator Corker says the following about the effort to Audit the Federal Reserve:
"I hope that you'll do everything you can to make sure the Fed maintains its independence.
I can't imagine a greater catastrophe for our country... for folks like us (in Congress), or in the Administration, getting involved in monetary policy.
I urge you to do everything you can to stay independent, and hope that we will enable that to happen."
Whether there is any relation to his position on this issue or not it is interesting to note that some of Sen Corker's top contributors consist of PACs and employees from the following companies:
Also worth noting is that the financial / insurance sector was the largest of all the sectors giving to Sen Corker's campaign at $3 million; again no relation to his position is implied. See http://www.opensecrets.org for more details on who is backing Sen Corker and others.
The way I understand what Sens Alexander and Corker are trying to say is that they don't want to politicize monetary policy. Opening up the Fed to debate, in their minds, would allow Congress to politicize monetary policy. One of the stated reasons the Federal Reserve was created was so that monetary policy would be in the hands of an independent 3rd party away from the fleeting and fickle whims of Congress. Perhaps a good idea, except that it's unconstitutional because the Constitution does not grant Congress the authority to delegate that specific power to an external entity, especially one that is non-governmental. The Constitution also does not grant the US government the power to create (fiat) currency out of thin air.
The Constitution says: "Congress shall have the power to coin money, and regulate the value thereof... and to *fix the standard of weights and measures"
[*Setting standards for weights and measures is important so that everyone knows how much an "ounce" of gold is. Since the Constitution does not allow for fiat currency defining an "ounce" is critical to ensure that specie and bullion are measured using consistent standards.]
While Sens Corker and Alexander may be correct that Congress will not be responsible enough to handle the power to manage monetary policy, allowing that responsibility to remain pawned off to an independent, unscrutinized, unopen, unaccountable, and non-transparant, 3rd party is not the solution either. The solution is for Congress to actually become responsible and fulfill it's Constitutional obligations as spelled out in our founding document.

Here's an interesting fact about the earth's atmosphere.
Say the Earth's atmosphere is a football stadium with 10,000 people. The 10,000 people make up the different gases floating around.
If you were looking at the people, you would see 7,800 of them wearing red shirts, and on each of these red shirts you would see the word "Nitrogen."
You would also see several blue shirt people. 2,100 of them. These guys would have the word "Oxygen" written on their shirts.
Now, the colors red and blue would be almost all you could make out in the crowd. But let's say you have some sweet binoculars, and you comb through every row of seats, looking at each person. You would see two more colors.
Yellow shirts, only 100 of them out of 10,000. The word on their shirts would read "Argon."
But one more color would be represented, so small that it would make up only 0.038% of the 10,000 spectators.
These shirts would be green. The word "Carbon Dioxide" would appear on their shirts. There would be only 4 of them in the stands.
Now lets look at the picture 150 years ago. Back then, there would be 3 green shirt "CO2" people.
CO2 level has risen a portion of only 1 out of 10,000 in the past 150 years due to the burning of fossil fuels. Yet this is the "disaster" behind global warming.
Now consider another fact. CO2 is food for plants. Plants absorb CO2, "eat" the carbon and "fart" the oxygen. We breathe plant farts to survive.
Historically over time, as CO2 levels has risen, total plant levels has increased. They have more food, so they eat it up and grow more. As CO2 levels decrease, so does total vegetation.
So why is our government trying to pass "Cap and Trade" laws to save the environment? It's not because of CO2 levels. Plant food levels.
I think it is because we are almost out of fossil fuels. This would also explain the invasion of Iraq and sustained occupation without complete progress in restoring peace. If Iraq becomes as safe as a Brentwood ladies luncheon, we will have even fewer reasons to stay. We still have to secure the oil in a favorable way to the US. Just a theory.
This would assume that they would rather lie to us than tell us the truth for fear of public chaos and disorder. That also falls in line with the suspected contempt and lack of faith the upper class intellectual typically has for the common man.
The facts about the atmosphere and plant farts can be checked here: http://www.heartland.org/publications/environment%20climate/article/20952/Carbon_Dioxide_Levels_Are_a_Blessing_Not_a_Problem.html
On Tuesday April 28th, a group of about twenty CFL members met at Representative Bart Gordon's office to deliver petitions and urge him to cosponsor H.R. 1207. Surprisingly, The Daily News Journal was there and interviewed two members of our group. Rep. Gordon still has not cosponsored H.R. 1207. However, gave a public statement, saying he would give the bill a look.. This is a step in the right direction, considering he has been ignoring others and myself. "I appreciate that my constituents came to my (Murfreesboro) office and voiced their concerns," Gordon said. "Hearing from them helps me better represent Middle Tennessee and make decisions. I am going to take HR 1207 under further consideration and make a decision about whether or not to support it. Our country is currently experiencing an economic recession, and I am focused on working with my colleagues in a bipartisan way to lessen the struggles and reverse this downturn."
We must keep the pressure on. Get as many petitions as you can. Upcoming gun shows and the University are great places to get petitions signed. Call his office. Get others to call his office. Make him think it would be political suicide not to cosponsor this bill. In fact, when enough people learn the truth, it will be.
