February 2009

If you revere the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States, and the principles of liberty upon which this country was founded; but see a national government exceeding its constitutional bounds with an interventionist foreign policy, burdensome regulations, suffocating taxes, and irresponsible spending; then please join Texas Congressman Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty. Dr. Ron Paul is a true statesman, a "Champion of the Constitution," a Thomas Jefferson of our generation.

The Campaign for Liberty needs you! Citizens like you help to govern the county, state and national parties. Party delegates make the rules, influence their peers, and choose candidates for the General Election! In every step of the process, it is essential that liberty-minded activists are engaged, active and numerous. Please sign up now with the Campaign for Liberty!

Thoughtfully consider how you can help to restore the Republic, preserve what freedoms we have, and reclaim those we have lost. Thomas Paine once said, "Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom, must, like men, undergo the fatigues of supporting it." Decide now to DO SOMETHING in the Campaign for Liberty. Decide now to devote some time each day or week in the cause of freedom. Decide now to be a person of influence in your precinct.

In these web pages, you will find educational material well worth reading, activist tools well worth your time, and a Local Coordinator Training Program well worth your efforts. Yes, this campaign will require time and effort. As Ron Paul said, "Elections are short-term efforts. Revolutions are long-term projects." But it will be worth it. Your neighbor cannot do it all. I cannot do it all. No single person can guarantee our liberties. However, many good citizens throughout the country, each doing a little, CAN have the impact necessary to sustain freedom and guarantee our liberties.

In this campaign, we shoulder a four-fold mission: recruit, train, equip, and mobilize.

Recruit. We must recruit our fellow citizens to join us in this effort. There are about 2250 precincts in Tennessee. We need at least one leader in each precinct, and preferably two or three. Invite your civic-minded friends to join this campaign. (They can browse this web site without joining.) If they agree with what they find here, then they will naturally be inclined to join.

Train. Once you have joined the Campaign for Liberty, become a Local Coordinator, and begin the LC Boot Camp (web pages that help you to understand how politics works here in Tennessee). You will not be able to complete the Boot Camp in a single sitting. It will require time and effort. Once completed, however, your research will become a gold mine of information you will be able to reference at will as you stand up for liberty in this campaign.

Equip. This web site will equip you to be an effective activist. It is an infrastructure that enables us to prepare for various activities that will promote liberty. It helps us coordinate our activities. It helps us to share information and encouragement.

Mobilize. When your help is needed, you will be invited (usually via email or by general announcement on this web site) to help. It may be to attend a rally, host a book club, walk your precinct, attend a political meeting, or talk to a legislator. Whatever it is, I hope you will embrace the opportunity with enthusiasm. And if you feel as though you are not doing enough, then organize something in your neighborhood, community, or county, and promote liberty.

A number of good people already are making good things happen--throughout the state. Please join us. Be a part of it. Make history.

JBMcCord

We had the honor of witnessing a true patriot, Sheriff Mack, in Knoxville hosted by East TN Research Institute.Sheriff Mack Click his pic to visit his web site. Also, please take the time and invest a little for getting a copy of his book to your local sheriff.

While your at it Laughing, pay your local sheriff's office a visit and see if he takes his oath of office seriously.

Impress upon your sheriff how we depend on his office to have the final authority to trump Federal abuses of power like home invasion, forfeitures, etc. without due process.

Yes, he has that power.

Why is Senator "Bailout Bob" Corker against monetary transparency?

Senator "Bailout Bob" Corker has introduced a bill to audit the Federal Reserve. At first glance this might seem like a step in the right direction, except that he is behind the curve because there is already a bill in the US Senate to audit the Federal Reserve. It's called The Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009 or S604. Its counterpart is HR1207 which already has significant grassroots and Congressional support with 303 and 30 sponsors in the House and Senate respectively.

What is wrong with simply co-sponsoring the pre-existing S604 bill that calls for a full audit of the Federal Reserve system?

The bill that Senator "Bailout Bob" Corker has introduced is a watered down and neutered version of S604. His bill allows for an audit of TARP and other bailouts (which by the way he voted for) but unlike S604 his bill does not allow for a full audit of the Federal Reserve, particularly it's inflation of the money supply or its agreements with other foreign central banks. The value of our currency is at the hands of the Federal Reserve and to turn a blind eye to what the Fed is doing under the cover of secrecy and darkness is both irresponsible and dangerous.

So the question becomes why Senator "Bailout Bob" Corker is so eager to compromise on an audit of the Federal Reserve? Why is Senator "Bailout Bob" Corker against monetary transparency? What's he trying to hide? Who is he trying to protect?

It is interesting to note that some of Senator "Bailout Bob" Corker's top contributors consist of PACs and employees from the following companies:

UBS/AG
Merrill Lynch
Regions Financial
First TN Bank

Also worth pointing out that the financial / insurance sector was the largest of all the sectors giving to Senator "Bailout-Bob" Corker's campaign at $3 million; again no relation to his position is implied. See http://www.opensecrets.org for more details on who is backing Sen Corker and others.

You may consider contacting Senator Corker's office and asking these questions.
The assistant to Senator Corker's Chief of Staff can be reached at: hallie_williams@corker.senate.gov

Or you can call his office at this link-

Yesterday I wrote a blog pointing out Representative "Zigzag Zach" Wamp's support for unionizing police, fire, and medical services across the country by cosponsoring HR413. Almost simultaneously and unbeknown to me the TN Republican Party sent out a message asking for opposition against a "big union, big labor" Democrat candidate in the 62nd district.

You can view their letter here:
http://politics.nashvillepost.com/2009/10/07/desperate-times-call-for-desperate-
fundraising-appeals/

The State Party obviously holds the idea that "big labor and big union" candidates should be defeated. Basic logic would show that if A=B and B=C then A=C. If the TN Republican Party is asking voters to vote against "big union and big labor" candidates, and Rep "Zigzag Zach" Wamp supports federal legislation for the unionization of emergency service employees, does that mean that the TN Republican Party is de facto asking voters to also vote against Rep "Zigzag-Zach" Wamp?

Be proud and pat yourself on the back. Mr. Davis decided to Co-Sponsor HR 1207. The number of co-sponsors is now up to 290.

This is a prime example of what Campaign for Liberty is all about. It will take many brushfire patriots to bring a positive change to our City, our County, our State and our Country.

Now a more difficult challenge remains ahead of us for the Federal Reserve Transparency act. We really need support from our Senators Alexander and Corker. Nothing seems too promising so far but thats not to say that it can't be done. Call our Senators and let them know where you stand and encourage them to support the bill. Liberty is nothing without a voice.

Slowly but surely, more mainstream conservatives are criticizing the Federal Reserve.  For those of you who know Sarah Palin supporters who still think the Federal Reserve isn't an important topic, this piece from the Wall Street Journal's Alex Frangos would be a great article to forward on to them (along with a link to End the Fed).

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin fired a shot at the Federal Reserve in her coming-out speech in Hong Kong today, blaming the central bank for the current crisis and disagreeing with the idea that the Fed should have a greater role in preventing the next crisis. It was an echo of fellow Republican and Texas congressman Ron Paul, who has led the charge in Congress to perform an audit of the Federal Reserve with an eye to eventually eliminating it....
