Many of our dedicated volunteers and supporters have phoned, e-mailed, and dropped by Rep. Watt's office with petitions urging his co-sponsorship of Dr. Paul's HR 1207 bill to Audit the Fed.  While many Congresspersons of all political stripes have come to co-sponsor this bill, whether they be Dr. Paul's conservative cousins in the GOP who have finally found their backbones, or doctrinaire liberals who finally see the Fed for the monster it is, there are a few others who will most likely never co-sponsor this needed piece of legislation.

Rep. Watt is one of those.  He represents all that is wrong with Democrat gerrymandering.  His "district", a snake-like strip of land, following I-85 between Charlotte and Greensboro, encompasses mainly "minority" voters.  In contrast, the districts which border Watt's, save for NC-8, are predominantly Republican.  An honest districting of North Carolina would probably see Watt out of Congress.  We could only hope.

Rep. Watt is exactly what he is.  He is a firm believer in taking from one to give to another, and feels this is the "right thing to do."  Not surprising coming from a man who's in Congress thanks to a hand-out.  As repugnant as that is, it even gets worse.  Because this man represents Charlotte, the number two banking center in the United States, Watt sits on the House Financial Services Committee.  This is a man who talks about how banks and other lenders "rip off" his constituents.  He talks about more and more regulation, etc.  However, this man takes more money from bankers than most in Congress.  When votes come up, he's always on the side of central bankers.  Ron Paul has a better shot at becoming President in 2012 than we have lobbying Watt to co-sponsor HR 1207. 

We're better off spending our time lobbying Senator Hagan for the Senate version as well as Cap-and-Trade and ObamaCare.

Watt will not get it, nor will he ever get it.  More effort should be placed on NC House and Senate races so we can gain a majority with our friends in the GOP.  Then, we can work on redistricting Watt out.
