Because St. Louis County is so large we have created a breakdown of area coordinators for some of our cities and towns. To keep up to date with activities and network effectively with your area you can use the forum that is set up for your city/town. You can also can email the person below for your town/city. Of course you should never hesitate to contact the your County, Regional, or State Coordinator with concerns or issues. Let's get to work raising awareness in all areas of St. Louis by becoming more active in our communities. This is grassroots organizing at the local levels. If you would like to help coordinate the efforts in your area contact Carol Riess, Rob Scharfenberg, Brent Stafford, or Robyn Hamlin.
This presentation was given at CD4 Meeting November 14 2009
Please write Letters to the Editor and call local talk radio. We must continue to influence the political conversation in Missouri.
Issues Overview and Update: State level
Oath Keepers - Every Sherriff in Missouri should be asked to sign in the next few months. C4L can and should lead this effort.
Missouri Sovereignty - 10th amendment legislation. Several bills will be introduced this year in the spirit of the 10th amendment to the Federal constitution. But, these bills will have teeth. They will be more than just resolutions, they will be legislation that tells the Federal government NO - Missourians do not have to participate in xyz feel good liberal program and if there are federal dollars at stake, then keep them. We will not stand for Missourians being blackmailed by the Federal Govt to participate in their programs. Elected reps and candidates are signing the pledge at the the Missouri Soverignty Project.
Ask each of your elected reps and candidates to sign the pledge
MIAC Center - The Mo State Hwy patrol sent a report to all law enforcement earlier this year that profiled conservatives, Christians, gun owners, home schoolers etc as potential terrorists. We are fighting this and the MO Highway patrol did rescind the report. But this story is far from over; It has become national and the profiling continues with the source of much of this coming from none other than the Dept of Homeland Security. Some content of the report was copied and pasted from the Southern Rural Poverty Center website. Mike Ferguson on Freedom Watch; http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=011008&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=11133911&referralPlaylistId=playlist
Balanced Budget - Missouri will struggle to balance its budget as revenue is down 10-14%. We stand for balanced budgets, no borrowing of money by the state and NO TAX INCREASES. The Missouri state budget grew from 8 billion to 24 billion in just 16 years. Were we that bad off 16 years ago? This is the only time we have a real opportunity to cut government by eliminating programs that will make government smaller. Small Government means LESS government.
Education is the responsibility of parents and local school boards. The Federal DEA should be shut down and should not be providing learning materials to our schools. I believe No Child Left Behind was a mistake and unconstitutional. We want to make sure that our schools are teaching what the constitution really stands for. As an example: America is a republic not a democracy. Makes you wonder why GWB claimed to invade Iraq to spread democracy?
Review your local schools educational material on government to assure it is accurate. Run for school board.
George Washington on education; "A primary object...should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing...than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of this country?"
Issues Overview and Update; National
Audit the Fed - HR1207 / S604 asks for a complete and thorough audit of the Federal Reserve Bank. Barney Frank just warned Bernacke to prepare for an audit!
Non Interventionist foreign policy - This is often confused or intentionally mischaracterized as Isolationist. It is the opposite of Isolationism. Congress should declare war - not the President. Interestingly Republican administration have typically been the ones to get us OUT of war, not Democrat admins.
Eminent Domain - We believe eminent domain should only be used for roads and perhaps utilities. Taking your house to build a new big box store is unconstitutional and just plain wrong. Show Me Institute http://www.showmedaily.org/2009/10/more-eminent-domain.html Book Recommendation; Little Pink House
Water Rights - There is a bill to grant the U.S. Corp of Engineers jurisdiction of ALL water in the USA. Current law says they have rights over Navigable waterways. The bill removes the word navigable, meaning that they can come on your property, declare any pool of water - including a mud puddle - as a wetland and then force you as the land owner to do with that as the bureaucracy sees fit. News With Views article http://www.newswithviews.com/NWV-News/news167.htmUSA Sovereignty - We are opposed to the North American Union, Security & Prosperity Partnership, a One World Government and a one world currency. We are opposed to replacing The Federal Reserve with an international central bank.
Second Amendment - Protect. We will continue to be vigilant to protect our right to keep and bear arms and ammunition. GOA www.gunowners.org NRA www.nra.org
Write Letters to the Editor and call local talk radio. We must continue to influence the political conversation in Missouri. Letters to the editor are important even if they are not published. Editors will read all letters sent to them. Editors are the gatekeepers of the newspapers content. If enough people write about an issue, then they will likely do a story on that issue.
Post commentary on your blog and local articles on the C4L webpage.
Liberals win with empty emotion based appeals. i.e. Climate Change.Hope. Change. To change the world, we must reach those who do not yet agree with us and present logical arguments with positive solutions.
Campaign for Liberty
Our Mission
To promote and defend the great American principles of individual liberty, constitutional government, sound money, free markets, and a noninterventionist foreign policy, by means of educational and political activity.
Today is the day set aside to honor our Veterans. A lot of us will have visions of battle scenes from far to many wars. We will remember Pearl Harbor, Normandy Beach, the delta regions of Viet Nam, the brutal winters of Korea, the roadside bombs of Iraq. Not only should we honor these Patiots of the past, but those who are giving of themselves at this very moment.
These Patriots took an Oath to defend our nation by defending the Constitution.
On the other hand, do not our elected federal officials make the same vow? Are we to allow these employees of ours to scorn, manipulate, and ignore that same Constitution? I don't think the approval rating coming from those men and boys laying in rest at Normandy would be very high for Mr Obama, Ms Palosi, and the rest of their gang. I'm afraid that the opinion of those fallen heros would very very high concerning the American public not only allowing this happen, but encouraging this attitude with their ballots.
This week (Sunday through Tuesday), big labor organized a major protest of all of the large banks in Chicago to coincide with the American Banking Association (ABA) conference. Labor activists from all over the Midwest were bussed to this event, called the Showdown in Chicago, to demonstrate in front of the major banks, including Bank of America and Wells Fargo. They urged the banks to cease in engaging in "preditatory lending practices" both through chants, and through a letter hand delivered to each bank's office.
Matthew Navarro and I went to the rallies on Monday to spread the word about Audit the Fed, and introduce some people to Campaign for Liberty.
Having attended many of the Tea Parties this year, this demonstration felt quite different to me for the following reasons:
These rallies were much more top-down. At the Tea Parties we would chant "No More Bailouts", etc. in unison. At these rallies one leader would yell something, and then all the attendees were expected to yell the same thing, but after the attendees had yelled it, similar to someone repeating after the priest when taking wedding vowes.
The people at these rallies all arrived by bus, and I am not talking about city bus route 151, I mean large busses that brought people in from Peoria, Cleveland, etc. just for this event, while at the Tea Parties many came individually in their cars, on trains, and bicycles (well, that is how I got there).
The chants were much more elaborate- including phrases such as "ceas and desist prediatory lending practices". The Tea Party cants were simpler, like "Socialism Sucks".
We handed out Campaign for Liberty Audit the Fed slim jims to people and got a mostly positive response. We avoided the people wearing the SEIU jackets, but most of the individual members accepted the literature and some even pledged to call or write their sennators in support of S. 604.
Despite the reputation that the SEIU and big labor have for being in the tank for big government, I feel that some of the indiviudal members who would atted such a rally may be open to our message. They are generally working people who resent seeing their money taken and given to others, especially to big corporations via bailouts. They recognize that something is wrong, and appear to be paying a lot more attention to what is going on than the average reality TV watching, weekend mall shopping American. The problem is that they have been lead to believe that Government is going to help them, and that big government politicians are on their side, when in reality, Government is the main entity that is screwing them! My hopes is that enough people will check out our website (which is listed on our literature) and see what is going on with the Government and the Fed.
At the rally I talked to many people briefly, urging them to call senators, and telling them about HR1207/S604. I talked to three people for longer periods of time (I will not mention their names for confidentiality).
The first person I talked to was talking to us about how our Sennators were bought and paid for, and how the bailouts were bad for the people. This person was definitely with us on the Federal Reserve issue, but might not be on some other issues.
The second person I talked to was probably one of the few negative responses I recieved. He was telling me about how the $11 Trillion debt, and monetary inflation did not affect anybody. He also said he did not care if we printed money, he only cared about who it was going to. I was polite, but quickly realized this individual was not an ally.
The third person I talked to told me that he liked Ron Paul, but was somewhat concerned about his economic policies. Basically, he was worried that Ron Paul and co. would want to get rid of all city parks, and anything that would be labeled "socialist". He said he was not very happy with Barack Obama and was looking for something else to believe in- completely with us on the Federal Reserve and foreign policy. I plan to meet up with him again and answer all his questions about our movement.
Maybe some new members will come out of this particular endeavor, maybe they won't. However, I still feel that these people have the energy and the attention we need, their anger is just slightly mis-directed. If we can show theese people the real reason all their jobs are being downsized, and their housing is threatened, maybe we can strengthen the movement, and bring over some people from the so-called left.
Albany, NY - Oct 23, 2009. NYS State Health Commisioner Dr. Richard Daines has suspended the controversial mandatory influenza immunization requirement for New York health care workers, citing a shortage of vaccine supplies as the main reason. The halt in the regulation also comes a day after popular upstate NY WGY radio personality Al Roney exposed the connection of Linda Daines, Commissioner Daines's wife, as a manager of private client services of Wall Street finance firm Goldman Sachs. Goldman Sachs was the largest shareholder and brokered a 2007 $15 billion sale of the vaccine giant MedImmune. Roney called upon his listeners to contact NY State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to open an investigation of a potential conflict of interest between the mandatory vaccine regulation for over 500,000 NY healthcare workers and potential profit for Goldman Sachs.
"It is absolutely a legitimate question for the NY Attorney General to consider whether Commissioner Daines should have recuse himself on this decision, considering the possible conflict of interest and the massive profits to be generated by Goldman Sachs with such a decision, whether the regulation was done for the best intentions or not" said WGY's Al Roney.
Controversy arose with the August announcement of the mandatory vaccine immunization for all NYS health care workers, the only state forcing such regulations. Rallies across the state were held by nurses against the regulation, and unions such as PEF and the NYCLU publicly renounced the decision. Two pending lawsuits challenging the authority of the Commissioner will continue to be held in court next week, with NY Supreme Court Justice McNamara imposing a temporary injunction against the mandatory regulation last week.
"The fact that psychiatric imprisonment is called 'civil commitment' is, of course, simply part of the linguistic deception characteristic of the mental-health system. Since civil commitment results in the loss of liberty, and subjects the victim to health hazards at the hands of medical criminals whose ostensible healing function is legitimized by the state, it entails far greater deprivation of rights than does incarceration in prison, a penalty carefully circumscribed by constitutional guarantees and judicial safeguards." Dr. Thomas Szasz, M.D. Professor of Psychiatry Emeritus

I am not very good at putting video's together for youtube but here it is. There was a good group of people who gathered to deliver petitions to Senators Bond and McCaskill in St. Louis asking them to audit the federal reserve. We were very well received in both offices. In addition to delivering the petitions Laura H. had brought Ed Griffin audio Cd's to give to them. It was enlightening to find out that Claire McCaskill's office was not aware that the Senators could not ask too many questions of Fed Chairman Bernake and get answers. Maybe now that her Field Rep knows this he will pass it on to Senator McCaskill.
With its endless creation of worthless fiat money and provision of continual fuel for the business cycle, the Federal Reserve has played a key role in destroying the value of our dollar, which has lost over 95% of its purchasing power since the Fed's creation in 1913.
While the Fed has partnered with Congress, the president, and the Treasury Department to put us on the hook for almost $13 trillion in bailouts and loans (and that's likely just for starters), it has refused to release the details about which institutions are receiving our money.
That's right.
The Federal Reserve can freely loan out your dollars and commit you to deals with foreign central banks and governments without having to provide any significant details to your representatives.
The Fed is one of Washington's most secretive institutions, and it has successfully defeated attempts time and again that would have required greater transparency.
But never has the Fed faced a fight as serious as the one the freedom movement has mounted in the last several months.
We have seventy five percent of the American people behind us.
We have 287 cosponsors for the House version, HR 1207. Three more cosponsors will give us a two thirds majority of support.
We have nearly a quarter of the Senate.
On Friday, September 25 at 9:00 am, Audit the Fed will have hearings before the House Financial Services Committee.
This Tuesday, September 15, Campaign for Liberty will be holding a Mass Action Day to gain cosponsors for the Senate version of Audit the Fed, S 604.
You have worked hard over the last few weeks to gather petitions for this effort. For the last week, you have been calling your senators' D.C. offices. On Tuesday, we will deliver those petitions to our senators' local offices and personally follow up on those phone calls as we take a stand for transparency and accountability.
While you are mobilizing across the country, C4L National staff and several grassroots volunteers will be delivering over 100,000 of your petitions to Capitol Hill.
Click here to see what your state and local coordinators have planned for Action Day events in your area.
If you haven't yet signed up to call your senators, click here and commit to contacting them on Monday.
If you are unable to make it out to a senator's local office on Tuesday, you can join in the events by calling, faxing, and writing Congress.
We only have a few days left before the Action Day, so let's take full advantage of them. Download petitions and other materials and spread the message that the American people are demanding to know how their money is being spent and what deals they are being committed to.
And don't forget, we're adding an extra incentive to this Mass Action Event. The person who gathers the most signatures in each state will win a pocket Constitution and a copy of Dr. Paul's new book, End the Fed, both autographed by Congressman Paul himself.
And whichever state collects the most signatures (as a percentage of population) will win a $1,500 gift certificate to the Campaign for Liberty store!
Your efforts have made history, but we're not done yet.
On September 15, we will petition our senators in defense of transparency and accountability. On September 16, Congressman Paul's End the Fed will officially be available in stores and will take the debate to a whole new level.
Throughout all of the challenges and events in the past two years, you have demonstrated your unshakable resolve to fight for liberty. This Tuesday, let's remind our senators and all the rest of Washington that we're not going away until we've restored our liberties. Audit the Fed is only the beginning.
I look forward to hearing the reports from Tuesday as we continue this historic effort!
"As many of you may have heard by now, recent statements from Representative Barney Frank, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, have indicated that the House will vote on Audit the Fed in the next few months.
However, rather than voting on HR 1207 as a standalone bill, many in Congress hope to roll it into the comprehensive regulatory reform package recently proposed by the White House.
This reform package grants new, more comprehensive powers to the Fed and strengthens the government's control over our economy. C4L and other friends of liberty stand in opposition to this proposal, as well as any other attempt to convert this historic movement for transparency into yet another rubber-stamping of politics as usual.
It is imperative that Audit the Fed come before the House and Senate on its own merits."
Three-fourths of Americans now support this audit as it stands, and we must demand that it is passed unadulterated.
If your Representative has co-sponsored HR 1207, demand that they pass the bill on it's own merits in it's current form.
If your Representative has NOT co-sponsored HR 1207, demand that they get on board and pass the bill on it's own merits in it's current form.

Today was a very good day in O'Fallon MO. There is a group that stands at a corner every Saturday and waves signs. This weekend several other grassroots groups were invited to stand with them and it is starting to look like the sleeping giant is waking up. The people are getting real tired of losing their freedoms and liberties by the thumbful here and there and have now had enough. I think that there were about 300 people there.
Some Campaign For Liberty members were there with signs and there were several of us taking video and pictures. This was my first day using a video camera so I pretty much practiced with it. Bob took some great video. We will have more up in the next few days. I will be in Sullivan, MO tomorrow at the State-wide Pink Slip Rally that is being sponsored by the Sullivan 9/12 group and will be one of the speakers. They have also invited several groups to come together. The sleeping giant is doing it's waking yawns.
Here is some video from Bob Therina that was taken today. Hope to see some of you tomorrow. These rallys are great places to network with others and explain one on one with people how to get our country back. You can also view this and other video's from local MO Campaign For Liberty members at: http://www.youtube.com/STLC4L
Here is a copy of my letter to the editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
Re: Arrests at Carnahan town hall
Dear Sir,
According to reports in stltoday.com and kmov.com, the man who was assaulted after the Carnahan town hall was a conservative activist handing out yellow flags - presumably his attackers were of the other persuasion. Of the six arrests, two were the (Democrat) assailants and three were arrested because they were videoing or taking pictures of the scene to document what was going on. So why are the conservative protesters being blamed for this?
In another instance of wrong target, PD blogger Wong laments the lack of civil discourse, implying the tea party protesters are at fault. But where is the civil discourse in Congress, with the Democrat leadership trying to rush the health bill through with no real debate?
This is classic Chicago style politics, to cause a disruption and then blame the other side for it.
