What is Property?

Without embarking upon an exhaustive treatise of the origin and history of law, which neither time, nor space in this inaugural edition of Ozark's Property Matters will allow, let it suffice to say that property does matter, so much so, that when rightly understood, property is the very essence of all that it is "to be."

Throughout the Ozarks, property tax statements have been received by all that have previously submitted acknowledgement of real and personal property subject to taxation held in their possession as of January 1, 2008. Tax collectors anticipate voluntary payment prior to December 31^st and will levy graduated penalties for subsequent later remission.

Additionally, rural property owners furthering local custom spawned by the Missouri Department of Conservation have blazed, placarded, and painted trees and fence posts in royal purple to provide notice to hunters of the bounds of each parcel of private property not open to hunting without prior consent, or trespass associated with scouting, tracking, taking or retrieving "game animals."

Estate auctions, garage, and yard sales are commonplace all across the Ozark Plateau. Not a people to be caught off-guard, Ozarkians are often "collectors" by nature; sale attendees are often overwhelmed by both the quantity and diversity of the items offered for sale from these private collections. Antique or modern, practical or whimsical, the property trading hands at these venues delights the eyes, and stimulates the imagination, engendering fierce competition between bidders responding to the skilled call of the auctioneer.

For most, long gone are days of horse and buggy, or wagon. The often great distances between farm and market, or even neighbors or friends, and the extensive network of postal roads and highways has replaced powered by horse with horsepower, resulting in a bewildering array of tools, equipment and personal conveyances that suck up petrol rather than munch on grains.

And for many, these and other examples that could be offered may comprise their general reply if asked, "What is property?"

To rightly comprehend property, it is needful to step back from our material collection of things, or stuff, and look to loftier beginnings. Were we to assert that, "property is individual man's life and all non-procreative derivatives of his life," as premised by Professor Andrew J. Galambos, we might better comprehend the meaning of John Locke's, "Life, Liberty and Property." The Founders of these several United States of America well understood that property was the bedrock of the pursuit of Happiness, and that where private property was, there also was Liberty.

The Ozarks Property Rights Congress is keeping an "Eagle's Eye" on our property rights as though life depends upon them. Because it does!

Become Vocal Local!

As globalism transitions from global to local we become Vocal Local! blocking the globalist agenda right where we are in our towns, cities, counties and states.

     This is not meant to give place to the globalists earlier maxim, "Think global. Act local." far from it. To become Vocal Local! is the antithesis of, even the very nemesis of globalism.

     Countering the craft and guile of the change agent's use of voluntary compliance and affirmative action to effect implementation through public buy-in, Vocal Local! exposes the socio-economic, political and theological underpinnings of the globalist safety cult agenda.

     Exposing globalist localism propaganda, Vocal Local! reveals the true nature of public private partnership-a naked move toward corporate fascism.

     Wherever it is attempted, Vocal Local! refuses to accept international, federal or state grants-in-aid realizing that whenever a people reach out for unearned shekels, the shackles of control are inevitably clamped on.

     A truly informed, bold, Vocal Local! people understand that it is a far easier task to block globalism, by whatever name it be hidden, as it seeks to gain a foothold locally than it is to excise once it has become lodged in an unsuspecting host, metastasizing within the very body politic.
