My brethren in liberty,

I must admit that I am in no way shocked by the results tonight. I mean let's face the truth: no matter how it went down today, we were getting a Republocrat. I must also admit that it took me a long time to wake up to what is going on around us. However, my awakening started with a spark of truth. One obscure news blurb here, a news lead there. I dared to question the face value of the truth I have been getting fed. I know now that our liberty and Constitution is at stake. Regardless of what anyone may say, neither of the two major candidates were going to put a stop to the erosion of our Constitution, sovereignty, and liberty.

I pleaded with people close to me and raised many questions. Often, the people I spoke with acknowledged that neither candidates were very promising. However, they feared one so much more that they chose the lesser of two evils. I responded each time that voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil (excuse the hyperbole). Each time they would concede that, but it didn't matter. I would push further and express how could we expect any of our leaders to stand on principle if we won't? The tragedy is that it just didn't matter. Many would say that if we got the lesser of the two evils in office, we would have a chance next election to elect a candidate of principle. I could only shake my head, because I realize now that this has been the very reasoning that has subjected us to this two party (i.e. one party) system.

Perhaps, the results of this election will be beneficial, though. I do believe that the slow insidious changes our leaders have been making have been an attempt to gradually make us accept that big government is the way. "Give up a little of your essential liberties, and we'll promise you peace and security," they say. We have been like frogs in a kettle. This year, those that chose the lesser of the two evils were merely choosing the slow ride to hell. Instead, we are about to get on the fast train. We have a democratic president with a democratic Congress. I hope that they make the grave error of moving this nation their way fast in order for people to wake up and realize that we should have made a U-turn a long time ago and have to do so now to preserve this nation for future generations.

Friends, this should be our mission. We need to break down these barriers that prevent people from seeing that they do have a choice. Gather the facts. Put them in front of those who are in your sphere to persuade. Building credibility and an audience starts with those with whom we already have credibility. In the spirit of freedom and choice, we cannot force people to change their opinions. However, with a little information here and there, we can give them the facts so that they may see the truth and act on it. Remember, darkness is merely the absence of light. The truth is the greatest light we have. Let it shine.

In Liberty,

Josh

Yeah, I know, we have well over a month to go until Christmas. However, I wanted to a moment to share this with everyone. I am so happy this year. For once, Christmas shopping is going to be incredibly easy for me. It's also going to be the year in which I am giving something truly meaningful to my family and friends. It's also going to be very economical, because I am not going to have to spend alot on gas, shipping, or just the hassle  of fighting the crowds and traffic.

I have decided that I am going to buy each of my loved ones a copy of Ron Paul's book, The Revolution: A Manifesto, and a copy of our nation's founding documents (i.e. The Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Indepence, etc.). I have found a few sites that offer a great price on each, and since I will be making a bigger order, I will get free shipping. So, there you have it. I am going to support our economy but in a fiscally responsible way (won't have to put it on ye olde credit card). I am going to reduce my carbon footprint on this planet.; ) I am putting thought and meaning into my gift-giving. And, finally, I am spreading the message of liberty during what is the second best holiday in my book (sorry, Thanksgiving places first for me: mmm...turkey...and leftovers).

Happy holidays, everyone!

In liberty,

Josh

I received this email from Rep. Kohls this moring.

--------------------------------------------------------

Friends,

I held a press conference at the State Capitol today to announce a new
effort to fix Minnesota’s government spending problem. My website -
www.MNSpendingFreeze.com - details the massive growth in government
spending over the last two decades and gives you the chance to sign a
petition calling for a budget freeze to deal with the pending deficit.
Simply put, we the taxpayers cannot afford a Legislature that spends
money hand
over fist without regard to our ability to pay for it.

I encourage you to visit www.MNSpendingFreeze.com, see the information
and sign the petition. Also, please send it to your friends so
they can get on board too. The more support, the better our ability
to
deliver the message to my colleagues that enough is enough, it’s
time
to get serious about controlling government spending.

Thank you,

Paul
