Push is On For Continental Congress 2009 (adapted from post by Talbert Black Jr., attendee)
Using the following words taken from the Declaration of Independence as justification ..."But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty... to provide new Guards for their future security."
An unprecedented gathering of 25 Freedom Movement leaders, Constitution Scholars, Authors, Publishers & Activists met at the Jekyll Island Club on May 21st and 22nd. They endorsed a Continental Congress to Convene in November 2009 - The planning meetings, coined the "Jekyll Island Project," were hosted by We The People Foundation for Constitutional Education, Inc., chaired by Bob Schulz.
This Planning Meeting Included Setting the Historic Record Straight about the Privately Owned Federal Reserve Bank. At the gathering was a special ceremony held in the Federal Reserve Room at the Club, specifically to establish a public "righteous record" in the very place where the secretive deliberations occurred in May of 1910 and which resulted in the Federal Reserve Act of 1913.
Beyond the timely relevance of such an effort, the two day meeting focused on gaining input on, and support for, the concept of convening a modern day Continental Congress "to document The People's record of our Constitutional crisis, and develop a viable, cohesive set of peaceful activist strategies to cure the cancer of despotism that now threatens the nation."
The twenty-five leaders articulated well-documented information about a long list of Constitutional violations which threaten to collapse the Republic, along with action plans to confront these violations. Some threats identified were RFID technology, transportation choke points, illegal surveillance, undeclared wars, labor taxes, international treaties, individual and state sovereignty, election fraud, unsound money, firearms legislation, sustainable development and the new world order agenda.
Leaders agreed that the time has come for a united front in defense of the Constitution, acknowledging the challenges that have historically prevented the Freedom Movement from coming together and achieving mass support. Leaders pledged joint cooperation for the 2009 Continental Congress, and pledged to create awareness, share resources and promote participation across all fifty states and the District of Columbia.
"The greatest governing documents ever given to mankind are here in America -- our Declaration of Independence, our Constitution and our Bill of Rights. Unless the people stand by them and ensure they are realized and followed by holding our elected officials accountable, they become only pieces of paper subject to our whim and the crisis of the moment," said Schulz.
" The American people are waking up now to what is taking place and are beginning to see clearly what is at stake. If the rights of free men in America are lost, they will be lost everywhere. And I am confident the American people will not allow that to happen," he stated.
"This two week long Continental Congress will give full record of the government's violations, and repeated dismissal of our petitions for redress of these grievances and will be broadcast to the world. With the sanction of the Declaration of Independence and the citizens of their states, free men will plan the proper and appropriate courses of action that will peacefully restore our Republic," concluded Schulz.
The precedence for a Continental Congress, the history of the people's right to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances" (Article I, Bill of Rights), the list of petitions filed since 1992 by We The People, and the proposed structure for the CC2009 can be viewed and shared here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/15568819/Continental-Congress-2009-Slideshow
These unified leaders of the Freedom Movement are now focused on educating and motivating Americans to take similar action during this constitutional crisis and get involved as volunteers, become delegate nominees, and ultimately cast their own ballot to send delegates from each state to the CC2009. To assist with this awareness campaign, work is now underway to create a film documentary about the historic gathering on Jekyll Island. A release date just prior to July 4th is planned. Has anyone heard about Bob Schulz, We the People foundation?? He is awesome, having petitioned the government for redress of grievance for 11 years. He now has documented a long chain of abuses, very much like the founders did. And the founders are the legal precedent we have as to the next move for us displaced taxpaying citizens in the US. When first broached with the subject, I gotta be honest with ya, I was dismissive. I thought it would be distracting, but now I feel its worth it to run this by my fellow patriots. You can check out NO1984.com and givemeliberty.org and PLEASE PLEASE give me some feedback, let me know if this is something RonPaulers can support....

In my opinion this video is a fantastic summary of the challenges we are facing. I think it is a terrific vehicle for grabbing the attention of folks who are apathetic or otherwise unwilling to engage. We can't find solutions until enough people understand the problems. Please have a look. If you think the content is worthwhile, please pass it along.
About six patriots came down to Congressman Walt Minnicks office today to deliver petitions and request his support for HR 1207. I felt we were well received, and felt we were heard. We brought up the fact that Walt is a part of the Blue Hound watchdog group (thanks Joyce for the gem of a find :)) and the reason this is important is because at least 2 other representatives in this organization are co-sponsors. We also advised, in this climate, its not good press to avoid or vote against a bill such as this.....
On the way to Simpsons office, after the Minnick drop off, we received a message :"Simpson Co-sponsors HR1207!!!"
No? Could it be? YES! We went to his office, and sure enough, his staffers advised he is signing on as a co-sponsor, we will see his name in a day or so!
THANKS PATRIOTS. Thanks for showing the Legislature and Governor how you feel, and now, our State Reps...we are being heard, and affecting history. I'm proud to be a part of this organization, and especially proud of all the different wonderful things each of you contributes to the cause of FREEDOM.
B.J. Lawson, the former candidate for Congress in North Carolina, is going to be on Fox Business around 2:20pm EST this afternoon to discuss his work promoting a local currency.
This should be an interesting interview to watch. We hope you tune in and let us know what you think about his ideas.
