Maybe it's not just the "tin-foil crowd" that gets it now.

Try a 95% loss in the purchasing power of the US dollar since the it took over custody of US monetary policy in 1913.

It's hidden in plain sight at the United States Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics.

How bad must the other secrets be if the US Government doesn't even try to hide this one?

July 3, 2009

This morning, before about 100 people at a town hall meeting in Pella, Senator Charles Grassley committed to co-sponsor S604 - Federal Reserve Sunshine Act of 2009.

The Campaign for Liberty has been the leading force in Iowa to secure co-sponsorship of US House Bill HR1207 and it's companion bill in the US Senate, S604. As of this writing, all 5 Iowa Representatives to the US House and now US Senator Charles Grassley have either co-sponsored or committed to co-sponsor legislation that will require the first ever independent audit of the private Federal Reserve Bank.

The goal of the CALL Project is to contact people from a variety of lists compiled during the campaign and invite them to visit the website and join our movement.  You may have noticed that Polk County membership is growing (by about 15% so far), and some of that is due to the efforts of the CALL Team members.

We have steadily worked our way through the two smaller lists (over 400 contacts have been made to date) and have just kicked off our efforts on the BIG LIST (nearly 3,000 names) with a Cookout hosted by Cary Peterson.

The Cookout (4/28) turned out to be a great event.  A break in the rain allowed us to grill outdoors, get a taste of spring, and socialize.  We later moved inside to discuss the CALL Project, make calls, and hand out "take homes" for those who were interested in helping jumpstart our efforts on the BIG LIST (nearly 200 contacts were distributed that evening).

It was suggested to me by several attendees that we should plan on holding another Cookout.  So, don't be suprised if you see a Summer Cookout and Call Party on the calendar later this year.

Drop me a line if you'd like to be a part of our efforts, or just have questions about the CALL Project.

Paul Supporters Lead Fight to Restore State Sovereignty in Oklahoma

"State House to consider historic bill to take back state's rights under the 10th Amendment to the Constitution"

Oklahoma City - For far too long, the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution has been known as the forgotten amendment. With power grab after power grab, Congress has slowly eroded the rights of states to keep powers not specifically granted to the federal government.

As more and more citizens and state legislators across the country begin to realize that this loss of states rights is at the core of many of our nation's problems, those legislators have set out to stop the out of control Congress and restore some sense of sanity and constitutional protections to the individual states.

On February 11th, Oklahoma became the first state to act on legislation to do just that. This action was directly brought about by a Ron Paul supporter, and it is Campaign for Liberty members that will see this battle all the way through.

You see, the 10th Amendment in our nation's Bill of Rights has long been despised by our big government foes. That amendment was drafted to enshrine in the Constitution what the Founders and the original states already knew: any power not expressly given to the federal government is kept by the states and the people. Although a lot of freedom-minded individuals have long fought for full compliance with this amendment in modern times, there has been a void of leadership and a lack of focused action - until now.

That void has been filled by the formation of Campaign for Liberty, which was born from Ron Paul's galvanizing 2008 Presidential campaign.

Campaign for Liberty is fighting in state legislatures across the country and in Congress to preserve and restore constitutional rights to all citizens, to subdue an out of control federal government, and to win back our lost freedom.

The fight in Oklahoma is a great example of the kind of battles we face in the next stages of the Ron Paul Revolution.

With the support of Dr. Paul's activists throughout the state, the Oklahoma legislature has taken up a vital bill to put Congress in its place and to remind it that there are limits to federal power.

This past Wednesday, the Oklahoma House Rules Committee unanimously supported House Joint Resolution 1003 (http://webserver1.lsb.state.ok.us/2009-10HB/HJR1003_int.rtf), which expresses the sovereignty of the State of Oklahoma and clearly calls for an end to unconstitutional federal government mandates.

Representative Charles Key (R-Oklahoma City), the sponsor of this bill, has spearheaded a national movement to put the federal government on notice that the separate states are sick and tired of having their actions dictated by Washington, D.C.

Rep. Charles Key is a supporter of Dr. Paul - in fact, he was the first elected official in Oklahoma to endorse Ron Paul's candidacy for President (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aa5sCO-3ly0) because of Dr. Paul's strong support for the US Constitution.

Oklahoma IS an example of how the R3volution is leading the battle to restore constitutional rights and freedoms to our citizens. The fight to reclaim our Republic and restore our Constitution is just beginning, and, with the continued efforts of Campaign for Liberty members all across the country, it is a fight that we can and will win.

State Sovereignty is Starting to Steamroll
From The Constitution Party

States Tell Feds: "Back Off!"

Legislatures Cite 10th Amendment In Strong Reminder To D.C.

Lancaster, PA (February 7, 2009) A growing number of state legislatures across the country have put the federal government on notice that the United States Constitution gives states the authority to say: "Thus far and no farther!"

Bills introduced in states, including Washington, Michigan, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Arizona, defend state sovereignty as guaranteed by the 10th Amendment to the United States Constitution which states: .... The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

The Constitution Party supports and encourages the effort of individual states to re-affirm that the U.S. Constitution explicitly guarantees certain rights cannot be usurped by the federal government. "The state sovereignty movement is picking up steam," noted Constitution Party National Committee Chairman Jim Clymer. "The duopoly that controls our federal government has gotten out of hand. Republicans and Democrats alike have been guilty of trampling states' rights for generations. Finally, elected officials in state legislatures across the country are pushing back," Clymer added.

D.C.'s blatant disregard for the Constitution has raised the hackles of responsible elected state officials. The effort to restore State Sovereignty is gaining momentum.

Several states have tied their State Sovereignty bills to other constitutionally-protected rights including 2nd Amendment gun owners' rights and the 14th Amendment right to Life. The Montana State Sovereignty bill , authored by Republican State Representative Joel Boniek, sets the stage for a showdown with the federal government over gun owners' rights.

It invokes the 9th Amendment as well: .... The regulation of intrastate commerce is vested in the states under the 9th and 10th amendments to the United States constitution, particularly if not expressly preempted by federal law. Congress has not expressly preempted state regulation of intrastate commerce pertaining to the manufacture on an intrastate basis of firearms, firearms accessories, and ammunition.

The bill adds a stronger caveat: .... A personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in Montana and that remains within the borders of Montana is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce.

In Oklahoma, Republican State Representative Charles Key authored his second state sovereignty bill, HJR 1089 (reintroduced as HJR 1003) using words like "cease and desist." Key has been a vocal opponent of such overreaching federal dictates as the No Child Left Behind and Real ID Acts for being unconstitutional, state sovereignty-stealing mandates from D.C.. The bill has been referred to the Oklahoma House Rules Committee.

In Missouri, Republican State Representative Cynthia Davis brought the issue of abortion into the State Sovereignty issue with HR 294. The bill (formerly HR 212), states: Missouri's sovereignty (exists) under the Tenth Amendment and (the state) urges the United States Congress to reject the passage of the federal Freedom of Choice Act which prohibits regulations on abortion.

Michigan Republican State Representative Paul Opsommer authored State Sovereignty bill HCR 4 which aims to: . (A)ffirm Michigan's sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States and to urge the federal government to halt its practice of imposing mandates upon the states for purposes not enumerated by the Constitution of the United States.

The State Sovereignty statement in Arizona's HCR 2034 bares its teeth calling for dissolution of the federal government in the event: .(The) President of the United States, the Congress of the United States or any other federal agent or agency declares the Constitution of the United States to be suspended or abolished, if the President or any other federal entity attempts to institute martial law or its equivalent without an official declaration in one or more of the states without the consent of that state or if any federal order attempts to make it unlawful for individual Americans to own firearms or to confiscate firearms, the State of Arizona, when joined by thirty-four of the other fifty states, declares as follows: that the states resume all state powers delegated by the Constitution of the United States and assume total sovereignty; that the states re-ratify and re-establish the present Constitution of the United States as the charter for the formation of a new federal government, to be followed by the election of a new Congress and President

Washington, and New Hampshire similarly put the feds on notice that the United States Constitution and all its amendments are there for a reason - to keep a centralized government from overstepping its bounds and to protect the rights of American citizens.

The Constitution Party encourages Americans across the political spectrum to contact their state representatives and tell them to uphold the Constitution with a 10th Amendment bill for their state!

On Monday, the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate voted overwhelmingly in favor of opposing implementation of REAL ID, joining a growing list of other states who are taking action to stop the atrocious federal law.

The House Bill, H.B. 1587, passed 88-10.  The Senate version, S.B. 1431, passed 30-9.

This has been the number one priority for Interim State Coordinator Mike McHugh, Donna Holt, and the Virginia Campaign for Liberty, so congratulations to them for their hard work!

The fight is not over yet, however, as Governor Tim Kaine is expected to continue his support for implementation.  Va. members - make sure he hears from you.
