It's Caucus Time!  What YOU Need To Know

If I missed the registration deadline, can (should) I still attend everything, be active, help/volunteer/whatever, such that once the caucuses are over, and can I approach the county chair or precinct captain and get an appointment to a vacancy?

If you registered as a Democrat or Republican by Jan. 19th, you can attend your precinct caucus and are eligible to vote.  Even if you are not a registered Republican or Democrat, you can attend your precinct caucus as an observer.  You will not be eligible to vote.

If you haven't registered as a Democrat or Republican, you must do so in order to serve as a precinct committeeperson, district captain, or elected office within the county organization in which you reside.

You can help, volunteer, and be active and it will be much appreciated!

The basic structure is:

Precinct Committeeperson - responsible for all communication/action in the precinct and between the district organization and the precinct.  The precinct committeeperson is the voting representative of that area to the district meetings (a grouping of precincts) and the county meetings (a grouping of districts).  A precinct is essentially a small neighborhood area.

For example, Precinct 903 in the City and County of Denver is bounded by E. Florida Avenue, S. Holly Street, E. Nebraska Way/E. Missouri Avenue, and S. Dahlia Street.

District Captain - responsible for all communication/action in the district and between the district and the county organizations.  The district captain is the voting representative to the county central committee organization.

County Chairman - responsible for all communication/action in the county and between the county and state organizations.  Voting representative to the state central committee organization.

County Officers (other than the Chairman, i.e., Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer) - responsible for various duties within the county central committee.

The most frequent vacancy is Precinct Committeeperson and, if vacant,  is an appointable position by the District Captain.  (PCs are normally elected at the caucus.)  Qualifications are: living within the precinct, registered within the party, ability to coordinate and communicate and able to attend mandatory meetings.

November 2010 ballot initatives!

Read all about them right here

As C4L members, we believe in reducing taxes and wanting a smaller Federal and State government.  Below are Colorado State ballot initatives that will be on the ballot in November.  Check them out!

#60 - Limit Property Tax - VOTE YES on 60!

This simple, half-page plan is both Tax Reform and Tax Relief. It makes the system more fair and more rational. It limits tax rates (mill levies). It stops illegal types of property tax. For more information click here.

#61 - Limit Colorado Debt - VOTE YES on 61!

No debt, no borrowing, no loans— require a balanced state budget that protects all citizens from repaying overspending by irresponsible state politicians. For more information click here.

Prop #101 - Colo. Tax Reform - VOTE YES on 101!

Denver politicians recently DOUBLED registration "fees," already way above the true cost of registering cars. They spend the money elsewhere. That's a $265 million yearly tax increase. Voters never approved that tax, as the constitution requires. Proposition 101 makes that annual "fee" a simple, flat $10 per vehicle. For more information click here.

As more initatives are approved, we will post them here for you to research.

Adopt a State Legislator Program is here!

C4L is looking for the following:

Citizen Lobbyist For the Tenth Amendment for our Adopt a State Legislator program: Must be willing to meet your State Rep or State Senator to bring their attention to 10th Amendment issues. You must also be willing to meet your neighbors to have them sign these petitions so that you may show your adopted state legislator how many of their constituents share your concerns.

Colorado County Coordinator and Regional Coordinator: Be willing to run the meetings for the C4L group that you are in and lead the local coordinators in your County or Region.

If you are willing to fill one or more of these roles e-mail Bonnie Solan-Cannon, C4L CO State Organizer, with your name, contact information, where you live, your State Senate and House district numbers, and what position you are looking to fill.

"I resign"

A letter to all C4L members from Bonnie Cannon, CO State Interim Coordinator

"I resign" is not what I want to hear from Campaign for Liberty lovers - I'll keep working for liberty if YOU do too!

BUT THESE UNITED STATES NEEDS YOUR HELP NOW MORE THAN EVER!

YOU provided the r3VOLutionary push to the many other liberty and fiscally minded groups, and you're the only ones who can give purposeful direction to this momentum.  You're among a select few who have the Constitutional knowledge needed to turn populist anger into real liberty!

I have a two-point plan, one federal and one state/local.

Federal - Work as hard as possible to get the Audit the Fed bill, S 604, passed through the Senate.  This would be a major roadblock on the government's road to serfdom.

State & Local - Make it a requirement for all state and local candidates to promote specific 10th Amendment legislation to get nominated.  If they're unaware, then politely educate them by directing them to TenthAmendmentCenter.com.

After a candidate hears 50 different voters mention "10th Amendment Center" - they're going to learn about it fast.

Make candidates for Sheriff and State Attorney General publicly take a stance for specific 10th Amendment legislation.

If no candidates are running, find one in any party!

Make candidates for Governor publicly take a stance for specific 10th Amendment legislation.

Make candidates for local office publicly take a stance for specific 10th Amendment legislation.

Why?

If the nation collapses, we must have a Constitutional Mayor, Town Council and County Commissioners elected to keep our County's safe.

Make sure your Sheriff joins Oath Keepers (OathKeepers.org) and pass out information about that organization to all "peacekeepers" (sheriffs, military, veterans, police, etc.) and thank them for protecting, defending, and upholding their oath to the Constitution.

Make candidates for State Senate and State House publicly take a stance for specific 10th Amendment legislation.

The Colorado 10th Amendment Center website has 7 or 8 more bills that need sponsors.

Can you find a State Senator or Representative to do this?

State and Federal pledges are also available at www.Colorado.TenthAmendmentCenter.com

Look for the 10-4 pledge page for both State and Federal candidate pledge forms

The 10th Amendment (notice a pattern here?) is rapidly gaining popularity among the grassroots - including people who don't necessarily agree with us - because it is the Swiss Army Knife of politics.  This is great news because this is the beginning of a broad-based movement.  Pay attention because you may begin to notice how more and more people begin using the words "Tenth Amendment" and "nullification" in everyday political discussion.  Remember the word "blowback"?

Once we get a state government that actively promotes the 10th Amendment, then we'll have a powerful team on our side.

Think of the "V" formation in football:

The Governor leads the way by "Just saying NO" to the Federal Government.

Our county Sheriffs flank the Governor by telling Federal agents that they do not have permission to enforce their laws here.

Our State Senators and Representatives pass laws to give the legal support that good Sheriffs need.

And our State Attorney General sues the pants off the Feds until they decide it's easier to repeal laws instead.

Do you spend 10 or more hours per week blogging for freedom and liberty?

Imagine spending some of that time doing one of the more effective following instead:

Go out, in person, and ask every candidate you meet if they support (insert your favorite 10th Amendment legislation here).

This will be 100 times more effective than blogging.  Why?  Elected officials and candidates listen BEST when YOU are there in person and their jobs are on the line.  Let them know that you mean business by making this the single make-or-break issue for your vote and your money.

Best of all?

They will begin to recognize YOU as a major political activist because we're all communicating a common message by sending them to the same website of TenthAmendmentCenter.com.

WE NEED YOU TO HELP IN WHATEVER WAY YOU LIKE TO:

Make a big showing at the Capitol for rallies and sign waves for/against a bill or testimony for a bill.

Get to know your elected officials, face-to-face. (Sheriff, Mayor, State Senator and Representative, Town Council, County Commissioners, etc.)

Become a Precinct Committee person (if interested, email me and I'll explain the 5 hours of work you would need to do for the whole year)

Learn more about 10h Amendment strategies and talk to people in your community.  Enlighten them to the beauty of the Constitution and The 110th Amendment Center!

If YOU bring in just one new person per month to Campaign for Liberty, and they do the same, and so on, you could be directly responsible for over A QUARTER MILLION new members in one year.

250,000 x 863 (members of this group) = 215,750,000 new liberty lovers!

Do you think CAMPAIGN FOR LIBERTY would have some political CLOUT then?

Holy Freedom Batman!

Do YOU know 12 people that might be interested in Campaign for Liberty and the 10h Amendment?

Would YOU resolve, in the New Year, that you are going to dedicate yourself to restoring liberty?

If Yes!  then please come to the event on Sunday, Jan. 17th at 1:00 pm and watch the movie "For Liberty: How the Ron Paul R3voLution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty" and learn afterwards the easy strategy we have planned for our glorious state!

Email me (Bonnie), and I will send you the address and details of the event.

If you believe liberty comes through apathy, then freedom is hopeless and tyranny will take over...period.  Without you, I am only one and we need thousands...millions.

The only reason why most major candidates in the state knows my name is because I'm trying to represent YOU, and I'm there face-to-face with them.

A r3voLution is a movement of many, active, passionate people, and I will do my best if you stand up to help whenever you can, and sometime when it's difficult.  If it were easy, we'd be done by now.

Our job is actually getting easier because others are coming around to our view.  If we only focus Federally on the Audit the Fed bill, (S 604), and locally/state wide, on the 10th Amendment movement, it simplifies our approach so you will not be overwhelmed with so many items to work for or against.

We can do this...YOU can do this.  All we need is YOU to help grow the Liberty Tree stronger than it's ever been.  Washington D.C. and the MSM are the fertilizer, YOU be the water!  Let's make the tree of liberty grow tall, proud and free.

Yours in Liberty,

Bonnie Cannon, CO Interim State Coordinator

FEDERAL ISSUES:

S 604 is the only Federal issue we will be dealing with in 2010.  All other issues that the Fed's try to "bog" us down with, that can be dealth with at the State level, will be directed to our 10th Amemdment movement here in Colorado.

This helps us promote the K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid) method of getting things done and hopefully, keeps you from becoming overwhelmed.

Now is the time to keep pushing!

The following letter was sent today to Mr. Udall and Mr. Bennet seperately to garner support for S. 604 as well as question the President's proposal for additional powers of oversight for the Fed:

June 21, 2009

Dear Mr. (Udall / Bennet),

I am writing in reference to S 604 which was introduced on March 16, 2009.  This Senate companion to H.R. 1207 would provide much needed transparency in the Federal Reserve system in regard to monetary policy, negotiations with foreign governments, among other vital information which is currently inaccessible by current law.  The House version of the proposed legislation currently has over 230 cosponsors with strong bi-partisan support.  I am seeking your current position and support for this legislation.

In addition to this much needed legislation, I would like to express my great concern regarding President Obama's proposal to give the Fed additional oversight powers in the financial system.  It can be argued that the Fed failed the U.S. economy in the very recent past by keeping interest rates artificially low during a time of reckless lending procedures.  The Fed was created under the belief that it would be the last line of defense against drastic market fluctuations by regulating interest and monetary policy.  The details can be debated, but it is clear that the Fed is an entity that contributed in at least some degree to the current economic crisis.  Because of this fact, the Fed should be as open and transparent as any government agency, and should be held accountable for its current responsibilities before additional powers are granted.

Thank you for your time.

-Brock T. Southwick
