treylaramore's weblog
I got an email today - I'll let you read it for yourself.
The best part is not only are you invited, but they encourage you to bring signs!!! (and they don't require the signs to agree with public health care *hint hint*)
I'm pretty sure you know what to do next...
You are invited to attend a celebration and thank you with Congressman Bishop. He will hold a rally at each of his offices to celebrate the passing of the House bill for Health Care (H.R. 3962, the "Affordable Health Care for America Act."). Please contact friends, supporters, organize caravans -bring ballons, cards, signs and people to celebrate health care and the public option! Sanford Bishop Jr., the Blue Dog Democrat representative from our very own 2nd Congressional District in Georgia agrees with H.R.1207 and a full Audit of the Federal Reserve. As the most recent congressman to support H.R.1207 from the state of Georgia, Bishop joins the ranks of the other 11 members of the House of Representatives and Both Senators from the state to call for full transparency in the actions of the Federal Reserve; thereby leaving one lone Democrat, Representative Jim Marshall from Georgia's 8th District, to oppose the legislation.
Bishop gave his support on October 27th, signaling his agreement with 75% of the American populace as shown in a recent Rasmussen Reports poll. His support is a victory and great step forward for all those C4L members and 2nd District citizens who spent countless hours calling, mailing, faxing his office for support then hand delivering over one thousand signed petitions in person to his several district offices.
The Campaign For Liberty and the members of Georgia's Second Congressional District should all be very proud of this accomplishment pushed forward by their support and actions. We need not forget to thank Congressman Bishop for his support.
This, however, is just the beginning. We must not lose focus or drive to perform the actions that are needed from here on out. We must use this victory to inspire us to keep working towards our goals to spread the message of Liberty and transparency in a constitutional government; in fact, I'm pretty sure one Representative Jim Marshall will be hearing that very message soon enough. Perhaps, like 75% of Americans, and all his fellow Representatives and Senators from the state, he will agree.

Well, there must be something in the water around here -- for the second week in a row there have been protests right here in little ol' Thomasville, GA against ObamaCare. In a seemingly unorganized effort, not led by anyone except concerned citizens, the area has come together to show their dissatisfaction with the way things are going in DC.
I was lucky enough to stop by the protest for a little while and talk with many of my fellow Americans who are waking up to the fact that they actually have a political voice in this country. With no more than a 2 sentence mention in the local paper, people started showing up outside of Congressman Sanford Bishop's Office at lunch time to sign petitions and waive signs.
I took the opportunity to pass out fliers and promote the Campaign for Liberty to all who were interested. Several people had never heard of C4L and seemed very intrigued by the organization as a whole. I just thought I would share this little bit of good news with all the other C4L'ers out there and post a couple pictures I snapped with my phone.
I have been very encouraged by turnout lately and can't wait to meet you all face to face at a Tea Party or other event some time soon!

I know this story can be found all over the internet, I Did Not Write This, I do not know the original author, I merely thought it fun to read, and a good tool to use - I hope you enjoy
An economics professor at a college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that socialism worked, and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, that it was the great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade." (So no one would fail and no one would receive an A.) After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset, and the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less, and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride, too, so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy.
When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings, and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.
All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great. But when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
(Could not be any simpler than that.)

AuthenticAuthor Canutillo, TX | Great story trelaramore. I wonder if the same test can be applied universally with the same results. I once heard that different countries have different work ethics, but have come to doubt the idea that humans act very differently from country to country. |

illuminati hater Las Vegas, NV | If the high school that I went too had used a socialist philosophy, I would have gotten C's, D's, and F's in everyone of my classes.
A lot of the kids in my classes were very lazy, and did not work hard at all. Giving us a class that was an average of their scores would have killed my GPA. |

Mike in Virginia Fredericksburg, VA | I won't swear that Walter E. Williams wrote this, but I'm pretty sure I read it in one of his columns several years ago. It's certainly the kind of thing he would write. |

Calling Georgia's Second District...
Okay, let's face it, our district has never really been one for activism, for whatever the reason may be. We don't turn out like the big cities to stand up for our voice in the political process, and that has got to change.
Those of us who believe in a Constitutional America have been slowly losing ground over the years, and it is time to take back our country, not only for ourselves, but every American - just because they allow the government to steamroll their freedoms, does not mean we have to. I truly believe in my heart this is not a partisan issue, as many have tried to make it, but and American issue. I believe there is no American who wishes their freedoms dissolved, no matter how they feel about the other issues. We have to show people that freedom is not a stump speech for the Democrats or the Republicans - freedom is universal, and those of us seeking it seem equally derided from both sides of the aisle. The republicans rally behind gun rights and dismiss the abolition of the War on Drugs, while most Democrats do exactly the reverse.
As a district we have languished without leadership and resolve. While efforts are growing everyday, from the TEA parties, to the congressional protests, we still sit as a disjointed union. From Americus, to Bainbridge, to Thomasville, we have not communicated with each other to unite in our common cause. As I pass from town to town, I am met with the same excuse, "We are just too small.", "Nobody will listen.", "Nobody in Atlanta or Washington cares about us." Well, that has got to change, we have got to stand up and organize. We have to make our voices heard over all the confusion.
I am currently a self-appointed leader, trying my best to bring us all together. I am not compelled by anyone, except the love of my country, to stand up for what needs to be done; however, I ask that as you see me pass through your county - come chat with me, let's organize together to let OUR Government hear OUR voice. I represent no candidate, and I am not a candidate myself - I just want the candidates to represent us, for once. If you have any events at all (TEA Parties, Protests, Etc.) Please contact me, we can work together to grow our network larger and make our district, our state, and our country stronger than ever. I will provide my contact info below, please feel free to let me know if I can help in any way, even if it is no more than helping promote the cause.

CTLovesNathanHale Atlanta, GA | OK, the corrupt government of snakes ensconced in Atlanta is definitely NOT listening, except to chuckle at your pain, but WE, the patriots in Atlanta, are listening! Good Luck to 2nd district from the 5th district (we are stuck with CFR member John Lewis as congressman here!) |

Break your chains Byron, GA | I hate to say it, but I'm kind of hoping the %&$# hits the fan with the Federal Reserve. If that happens, Sanford Bishop, Jr. should be an easy opponent considering that he hasn't supporter HR 1207.
We'd still need someone to run against him, though, and I'm too young. |

treylaramore Thomasville, GA | I would agree with you Break your chains, Sanford Bishop will certainly end up on the wrong end of HR 1207 - both politically and morally. I just hope a good opponent comes forward. |

dhicks0559 barwick, GA | I think it would be interesting to see a democratic primary challenge to Bishop. He is on the wrong side of the bluedogs and the libs. |
