This is the 15 point plan the U.S. Federal government should adopt immediately. These steps will avert a massive prolonged depression - and, hopefully, save the dollar from collapse.
1. Cut Federal spending - Review All Departments. Especially consider abolishing commerce, education, agriculture. On the military side, wind down both campaigns immediately. All foreign bases must be reviewed and justified. Total spending cut hard target: $1 trillion for 2009. Hard target Federal spending cut 2010: $2 trillion. 2. Cut Personal income taxes for all income levels. 3. End capital gains taxes for 10 years 4. Allow manufacturers and distributors to use cash accounting , as opposed to current requirement of accrual accounting 5. Beef up bankruptcy courts. Prepare for mass filings. Streamline process. 6. End current bailout, foreclosure mitigation, clean energy programs. End any other programs designed to "soften" the blow of recession. 7. The Federal Reserve must begin to gradually raise interest rates 8. Cut corporate tax rates, preferably to zero for the next five years 9. Address the yuan-dollar relationship. Continue to negotiate and pressure for a free floating yuan. 10. If any Federal tax surpluses (see supply-side economics), they must be earmarked to pay down the Federal debt. 11. Audit the Federal Reservve 12. Re-establish a gold link to the dollar. (May be the way to force the de-pegging of the yuan from the dollar) 13. Offer tax credits to companies that have net employee additions for 2009 & 2010 14. Abolish sales tax and ordinary income/capital gains taxes on precious metals. 15. The legal system must enforce contracts in precious metals, allowing contracts to be based on something other than dollars.
If this strikes anyone has austere, consider what kind of austerity we will see if this episode escalates into a prolonged, inflationary depression. Which is exactly where we are headed . And not in the distant future. It's beginning to happen RIGHT NOW.
UPDATE:
16. Loosen immigration for all who are waiting in line legally
17. Rescind the Minimum Wage

rightsman Las Vegas,, NV | The first thing that the alleged president should do is provide a legal birth certificate. The first thing that Congress should do (the Senate is part of Congress) is take a prolonged vacation, perhaps to Lybia. The first thing that Americans should do is take responsibility.
Thank you,

Hi Everybody,
The Tea Party Express is starting a new tour with a stop this Wednesday @ 5:30pm in Walnut Creek. I'll be speaking and our team will have a table with campaign materials.
A preview: you won't want to miss my speech.
Those of us who've been to the Tea Parties know they are a net positive for the cause of liberty. Overall, I think these events are fertile ground for our message.
Remember that the Tea Party idea was first revived by Ron Paul supporters in December 2007 during the presidential campaign. Let's have the liberty scene turn out in force and show 'em what a Tea Party is all about!
Regards,
John
P.s. If you're interested in volunteering for the John Dennis for Congress table let us know at info@johndennis2010.com.

(Shipbuilder )Thomas Andrews: The pumps will buy you time, but minutes only. From this moment on, no matter what we do, Titanic will founder. Captain Ismay: But this ship can't sink! Thomas Andrews: She is made of iron, sir. I assure you, she can. And she *will*. It is a mathematical certainty. (Emphasis added) From Titanic (1997)
Recently, people have asked what exactly is the "threat to the American experiment in liberty." There are many of course. The attacks on our liberties range from health care (HR 3200) to civil liberties violations (loss of habeas corpus) to personal privacy (warrantless wiretaps) to forced labor (income tax). But the most serious threat to the national experiment in liberty known as America is the continuing destruction of the dollar.
As I posted on my Campaign for Liberty blog in March of this year, the dollar will weaken and, if we let the Federal government continue its policies, ultimately collapse. The levels of debt carried by the U.S. can never be paid back. And the Federal government's foreign creditors, whose savings are needed to sustain the lifestyle to which it has become accustomed, know it.

1972 Democratic Presidential candidate George McGovern gave a speech in in Marin County, California last week. A friend sent this in an email:
"McGovern said he would propose a one-sentence Health Care Bill:
'All Americans may now sign up for Medicare.' "
If you're a supporter of the "Public Option" in the current healthcare proposal (HR3200), or "Single Payer" system for that matter, McGovern's suggestion makes sense. Medicare is already in place. Rather than build out a new infrastructure, Medicare could just be scaled, over time, to achieve the same end. Scaling Medicare would be quicker and less expensive than a separate program.
Why then have the supporters of the Public Option not latched on to the idea of allowing all [READ MORE]
