If the C4L is about one thing, surely it is about getting liberty-minded people elected into positions where they can effect REAL change -- like, making the Government respect the Constitution, for starters!

As well as being a Precinct Leader for C4L, I am a member of the New Hampshire Liberty Alliance, and a member of the Free State Project (which was endorsed by Ron Paul himself!)

Well, I have some exciting news about the November 2008 elections. Four "pioneer" members of the Free State Project, who moved to New Hampshire in the last few years, were elected as State Representatives in NH! More details about their victories are here. Moreover, of 154 pro-freedom candidates endorsed by the NH Liberty Alliance, fully 98 won, and are now State Representatives!

These folks have already begun the process of filing legislation for the 2009 session, which, if enacted, will:

  • establish a permanent state defense force (aka "State militia" as in the 2nd amendment)
  • declare the NH shall secede from the USA in the event of any unconstitutional mandatory "national service" or unauthortized loss of soverignty (eg, to the SPP)
  • further restrict the use of "eminent domain" (NH already has a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting eminent domain for private development)
  • urging the federal government to withdraw the United States from the North American Free Trade Agreement
  • establishing a spending cap on state budget requests
  • decriminalizing possession of marijuana
  • and more...

I invite anyone to check us out:

NH sounds like the most liberty mined state in the union. Damn, if it wasn't for the cold winters it would be the place to live...I may have to bundle up and trek on up there.

The Senate will be voting for HB312, "an act permitting a person to record a law enforcement officer in the course of such officer's official duties," this Wednesday.

Over a dozen people showed up to support this bill at the House hearing before the Criminal Justice Committee; they recommended to the House that the bill be killed (big surprise), but we were able to get it to pass, 206–142, after supportive floor speeches by Reps. Joel Winters and Neil Kurk.

The Senate Judiciary Committee held the public hearing for this bill on 05-19, and again several supporters showed up to testify in its favor. They've also recommended that the Senate kill the bill, 5–0. The Senate vote will be held this week, on 06-03. We turned this around once, we can do it again.

If you want to see this bill pass, *CALL YOUR SENATOR TODAY* and let them know how important this is. You can find out who your senator is and their phone number here:---

http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/senate/senatemembers.asp

Again, it is ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE that this bill pass if we want to no longer worry about the police threatening activist journalists like Dave Ridley with a felony charge for audiotaping the police without their consent.

With help from a cabal of liberty activists, I am proud to announce "Project Liberty 4 HS"

The goal is to turn thousands of New Hampshire high-school age kids on to the message of liberty. We are doing this with extreme guerrilla marketing, NH-based volunteers... and hopefully, a little help from you.

Click below for the full story... and chip in and help make it possible!

With your help, we have stalled -- but not yet killed -- a mandatory seat-belt law in NH.

The law, as it stands, would be a PRIMARY enforcement law, meaning police can pull people over and write a ticket, if they don't see a seat belt on you.

Right now the bill is "Laid on the Table", which means the nanny-staters didn't have enough votes to pass it, but they think they can get enough votes with some back-room dealing.

We're down to the brass tacks on this! The side with the most gumption is going to be the side that wins. If it passes, and you didn't do EVERYTHING in your power to stop it, will you be able to live with yourself?

Call your Senator NOW and tell them, a primary seat belt law is NOT right for New Hampshire!

This is a really good idea. You might as well call the governor also just in case something happens with this.

John Lynch's number is 603 271 2121. Just leave a message if no one picks up.

OK folks, good news! We defeated this bill but look for it to return in 2011. Until then, let's continue to organize and fight for freedom.

I'm Relieved to hear that it was defeated, if at least until 2011. =)
