"Ron Paul cured my apathy." That quote is especially true for me. I've learned so much about our country and our government over the past year, I thank Dr. Paul for that. Consider me awake.

I read a great article today @ NaturalNews.com calling Ron Paul, David and Big Government, Goliath. It was on the stimulus package being the latest battle between the two. It was very favorable of Paul. You guys should read it and sign in to leave a good comment there. You can also Digg it or Buzz Up it.

Young Americans for Liberty presents: http://www.yaliberty.org/change/ Here's an excerpt from the homepage: "It's time for change... America is suffering from unending war, growing debt, reckless monetary policies, and a depreciating economy. Our country desires a new direction and fresh ideas. Barack Obama brings a message of "hope" and "change" and understands the captivating power of words and appeal. His victory was historic, but it was not by chance. A well orchestrated plan executed by top marketers, Internet strategists, and campaign consultants put him in the White House. Americans demanded change, and he supplied an answer. But, what is that answer? What is this so called change? The mainstream media has extended its honeymoon with the new administration; even as scandals, bailouts, proposed federal works programs, a falling economy, and questionable cabinet appointments take place. Many Americans say, "Give him a chance. He can fix our problems." But, why be fooled again? Government is limited by the United States Constitution for a reason. Society is a responsibility of the people, not the government. We already know the real Barack Obama. We know his cabinet appointments; we know his voting record; and we know his beliefs. He promises more foreign intervention, more socialism, more restrictions on our civil liberties, and a greater disregard for the Constitution. Rather than wait for another politician to disappoint the American people, let's stand up as patriots and say one day of Barack Obama is enough. It's time for real change." ~~Check out the Downloads section and print up some fliers and post them around your town, campus, or even hand them out! (Congratulations, btw, to my boyfriend for his winning design for the one flier with Obama's mug on it at the top of the downloads page!)

Yeah, when they report war they should only report on the 'happy' aspects of conflict! Like in WWII where soldiers were so deprived of everyday comforts and even necessities they could get easily if he were back at home, that they seemed ecstatic for them on a news reel. That's the only part we should be reporting! War is hell, so we should make it seem like a picnic to people who are not in the middle of it! Makes perfect sense to me. *end sarcasm*

Considering the state of our current media, I have a hard time respecting (or believing) the work that they do, as for the most part, you can't trust them any further than you can throw them. Having said that, it's extremely asinine to suggest that the media should be limited to reporting in the manner that they did in WW 1 and 2. (Many reporters TRIED to print stories in their papers that told detailed truths, but their papers refused to publish most of it.) To even suggest that the public doesn't have a right or a RESPONSIBILITY to know the truth is beyond the pale. This plumber may be a regular Joe, but he doesn't speak for me.

I've given up on watching the media. With them, it's always the same crap: war, death, war, death, I'm so sick and tired of all of it.

I've found that this site provides me with the news that I want/need to know.

This is a great example of the modern new conservative. They love their country, but they don't know why. They love America because ... well, it's America. They really have no concept of what makes America great, and no idea what principles America stands for. As a journalist, it seems as though Joe's first effort was to announce his displeasure with the 1st Amendment, and is using his new role as journalist to lobby for control over what journalists can report. This is the ugly American I'm ashamed of. It's proof we have a long road ahead of us in re-educating Republicans and conservatives as to what America is and what made her so great.

Check out this article from The Saginaw News titled, "The Russians aren't comin! The Russians Aren't coming!" by Justin Engel. Don't you just love the condescending tone of the title? Because we citizens who care when government breaks it's own laws for 30 years and jeopardizes our health by doing so are just kooks! If you wanna get your blood warmed up in these freezing December temperatures, check out this article:
