Year End Report
Whew! What a busy 3 months we've had in 2008. It's encouraging to see so many coordinators come on board and to see so many precinct leaders step up to take back their neighborhoods! Before we know it, we'll blanket the country (and a few of our non-U.S. countries, too) with precinct leaders armed with the knowledge and tools they'll need to make a huge difference in the outcome of our future. We've received a lot of great suggestions from our members this year. Thank you for helping us help YOU be successful!
We have some great things in store for you in 2009, but first here are highlights from 2008:
There are 1,349 Precinct Leaders in place and working for freedom! If you haven't done so yet, sign up and protect your neighborhood. Our Precinct Leaders will be the best-prepared, most well-trained, most knowledgeable folks around. Membership dues help pay for the very best, most up-to-date voter data on the market. Two or more Precinct Leaders in each neighborhood will ensure success!
Early on, State Coordinators agreed that a goal of 10,000 Precinct Leaders in the U.S. by September 2009 was achievable. Each state's goal was calculated based on number of precincts and percent of total population.
Successes: The states of Iowa and Vermont are the ones to watch - Iowa increased their number of Precinct Leaders by a full 45% in just 3 months and Vermont increased their number by 43% in less than 2 months! What's the secret? Ask the state coordinators - I'm sure they'll be happy to share!
There are 7 states that have already met over 30% of goal in just 3 months:
Iowa - 54% (goal: 100 precinct leaders)
Vermont - 52.17% (goal: 23 precinct leaders)
Montana - 44.12% (goal: 34 precinct leaders)
Washington - 40.65% (goal: 214 precinct leaders)
Idaho - 39.22% (goal: 51 precinct leaders)
North Dakota - 37.50% (goal: 24 precinct leaders)
Minnesota - 30.81% (goal: 172 precint leaders)
In addition, the following states have reached 20% or more of goal: Alaska, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and Nebraska.
A HUGE congratulations go to all of you! At this rate, you're sure to exceed your goals.
Thirty-six Interim State Coordinators have been appointed, and they've appointed interim Coordinators in 144 congressional districts and 161 counties! This is nothing short of amazing.
Successes: Several state, district and county planning meetings have been held and have seen great attendance and success. As an example, one district had 27 attendees at their first meeting last week (during the holidays and with freezing temperatures).
The message of liberty is alive and well!
Over the past few months, I've occasionally received a message asking "What is the point of the Campaign for Liberty?" Here is my response:
The point of the Campaign for Liberty is to get our activists in one place where we can work together on strategies that will truly make an impact. Precinct Leaders our are most precious members. They are the key for making an impact in every neighborhood across the U.S. The Precinct Leader attends local and political meetings, they wake up their neighbors (or let them sleep if they don't "get it"), watch their local government activities, call out their infractions, rally their neighbors and literally protect their own backyard.
When each Precinct Leader takes responsibility for their neighborhood, pretty soon we'll be able to look across our country and celebrate many small wins, and as we develop cross-state strategies, we'll witness big wins as well. We'll be able to more easily elect liberty-minded candidates to work together on freedom issues that affect us all.
In 2009, we'll offer many more tools to all of our members - from regional conferences to focused strategies and issues, from Special Events days to an exclusive forum for our Precinct Leaders. Watch for upcoming announcements regarding these tools and more, and keep an eye out for some great surprises, too!
Once again, thank you for allowing us to serve you in 2008. We look forward to a much brighter liberty-minded 2009.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Heather D Port Byron, IL | Thanks for the update, Deb. We in Illinois just can't let Iowa beat us so badly! It's time to get busy! (I was born and raised in Iowa, so no hard feelings!) |

Tom Leser Melbourne, FL | I'd be interested in seeing what the statistic of PL to Members ratio is in various states and counties.
Here in Brevard County FL we have a total of 59 members, and 11 precincts.
This amounts to a rate of 18.64% of our members have taken that step to becoming a precinct leader.
This might more accurately represent the success of a particular area as opposed to PL's designated per total population. |

BruceKoerber Cedar Rapids, IA | Wow! I feel very fortunate to be in one of these dynamic States (Iowa). Our State coordinator is Drew Ivers and he is very talented and a great person, which I am sure is one of the reasons Iowa is doing so well.
Blatant theft - like the proposed gas tax - will make people receptive to the message of Ron Paul. |

JJames Saginaw, MI | Congratulations on a productive 2008!
Deb, the following is not addressed to you specifically but rather to the whole Campaign for Liberty.
I am frustrated because I wish I could have been more a part of it. I am interested in learning about becomming a precinct leader but I don't know what that person is supposed to do or how you go about it. How much time is required? What skills? What proceedures? Is this a Republican party thing or is it specific to the CFL? I have written/posted on multiple occasions requesting information about this. I know I'm not the only one who is looking for this info.
I think the CFL would have more precinct leaders if more people knew what to do. You seem to spend a lot of energy on recruiting precinct leaders. Please consider spending some on educating us. A basic job description would be an easy start for another precinct leader to write.
Thanks, Joe |

BruceKoerber Cedar Rapids, IA | The media continues to bring to the forefront people who act like they are in touch with the bankruptcy-of-America issues but then say something to the effect that Ron Paul is not 'charismatic' enough to be a serious spokesperson.
This is just another ploy by the unConstitutional coup to try to undermine the truth-bearer!
I cannot wait to see the impact of the regional conferences focused on strategies and issues, and Special Events days, etc.
Let's make it overwhelmingly obvious to the unConstitutional coup that the number of truth-bearers are far beyond control and are intensely focused on exposing the members of their inner circle of economic terrorists. |

Deb Wells Kansas City, MO | Thanks for the post explaining precinct leader requirements & expectations, tb54701! Precinct leaders are not chained by political party, as we are all working toward the same goals of freedom and liberty.
Precinct Leader Boot Camp is available now where you record answers about your neighborhood - statistics, local government information, party players, additional elected officials and rules, team-building, goals & plans.
After completion, you'll have a great resource for developing a strategy for your precinct. The upcoming forum for precinct leaders will be where you'll share strategies and build cross-strategies for impact.
The difference between a political party precinct leader and a Campaign for Liberty precinct leader is that as a Campaign for Liberty leader:
*You own the work you do in your neighborhood.
*You build your own strategy based on your research.
*You will have access to the most up-to-date, scrubbed voter data available on the market (rather than political party data or data from governmental entities, which is often outdated/incorrect/unavailable).
*You will work directly with other precinct leaders to build your strategy and share best practices.
*You have the ability to use and update your research and data continuously (rather than relying on someone else's incomplete data a few months before an election).
*You become an expert in your sphere of influence and can more easily educate those around you.
In other words, YOU take charge of what happens in your own back yard. |

Over the past 3 months -
Time: 12-18 hours/day creating the website, answering questions, fixing bugs, assisting coordinators, conducting research, blogging, creating the store, providing news and wire service, daily email update service, precinct leader tools.
Money: Above, plus saving money to purchase a very expensive voter database and more tools for our members. |

Brent Stafford O Fallon, MO | Now that the holidays are over, expect Missouri to make a big move in precinct leader numbers. I have a few tricks up my sleeve, and I'm about to pull them out.
My challenge among my fellow Missouri coordinators stands, but now I'm upping the ante. Missouri coordinators, I challenge you all to help make Missouri the first state to reach 100% of goal, and the first state to double that goal.
We know Missouri is the Show Me State, lets make it the Show Everyone state in 2009.
This is going to be a fun year! |
