[Newer: January 26, 2009 MegaVote for Georgia's 7th Congressional District] [Older: Encouragement - and Challenges - for Georgia RP GOP'ers]

I'm sure most of you know about the petitioning effort to support Dr. Paul's bill to end the Federal Reserve System - see http://www.endthefed.us/repeal.php .

The goal is to get 1 million signatures by Feb. 23rd. When the new 111th Congress convenes, Dr. Paul will re-introduce his legislation (H.R. 2755 in the current session) to end the Fed. The bill will be referred to the House Committee on Financial Services. The petition will be presented there, I believe, coincident with a phone call, fax and email campaign.

However, we in Georgia have the opportunity to push this even farther -- we have TWO Georgia Representatives on that committee, one Democrat and one Republican:

Rep. David Scott, GA 13
Rep. Tom Price, GA 6

This means we can make an EXTRA effort to push this legislation with them, especially those of our folks who are in either CD 13 or CD 6. So anytime you see either one of these two, make a point to talk to them face-to-face about supporting the End The Fed bill. If you hear them on a radio show, call in and tell them they need to support it. If they speak at a meeting locally, go and get recognized to ask them pointedly about supporting it.

And of course, make those weekly phone calls, faxes, letters and emails:

If they get this stuff every time they turn around -- in addition to the petitioning effort and our constant contacting them -- they might just realize that this time, they have to actually CONSIDER the bill, or face the consequences at home in two years.

We gotta dog these people. We know how to do that, right? :-)
