Hi Don,

That's great! Do you know when we're going to get the 'recent member comments' back on the home/front page? It's been off for about two weeks now and I miss it as well as others.

Thanks,
Caleb

Due to abusive language and repugnant content posted by a small number of jerks, we have had to suspend that feature. I deeply regret the need to do this. It is my hope that we will be able to re-establish it with some reasonable controls at some point in the future.

I too was wondering why that had been taken down.

Maybe they can get it back up with some sort of vote up/down feature, so that it can be moderated by members instead of having a few folks spending a lot of time trying to keep it civil and on topic.

It's hard for me to talk about politicians these days without getting abusive, though. I try my best to keep it clean. (Not sure what comments were showing up though, and we do want first-time visitors to get a good impression, I suppose).

I'm working on a draft to my congressman now to urge him to co-sponsor/support HR 2755 (END THE FED). (Last check at govtrack.us this bill showed NO co-sponsors). If my federal representatives ignore me, then I shall go to my state representatives and grant them the authority to call a convention among the states to draw-up an amendment or something to end this madness.

Is the CFL going to bring back the membership counter and the donation counter. I would love to be able to see the number of members, it might make people double there efforts to bring in new people. You should bring back the donation counter too.

The recent member comments was a great thing to have on the front page, I got most of my blog traffic from that section.
I do remember looking at it and often seeing some disgusting language posted by people who should have known better.

Here's the first draft of a letter to my Congressman in support of HR2755:

Yes I third or fourth the blog section being featured on the home page but there does have to be a system in place to keep people from seeing garbage posted there.

I'm not sure why the foul language detector did not block some of the most crude 4-letter words out there in one particular blog that I saw.

One other possible solution is to have this only show up for registered members. That way most guests won't be able to see the blog feature, and it will encourage members to login. This way a little more time is given for some of the harder core members to flag some of these posts for the C4L staff to remove before a newbie joins and sees the garbage.

4 million visits is great!

Likewise on the blog section. Perhaps appearing on the home page could require a permission that you guys can pull for members who abuse the privelege. The rating system would be handy, too.

there's something to be said about the fact that 1/3 of the articles on the liberty news wire are about more money being pumped into the system:
-congress promises another 500-700 billion
-IMF gives turkey 19 billion in credit
-fed tops 7.4 trillion
-citigroup gets 306 billion

can i just get 200 hundred thousand? all i want to do is pay off my house and let me get back to pioneering local C4L action plans?

Most of all, I'm looking forward to having user forums. I have several liberty-related philosophical questions for fellow C4L folks.

Thanks for the update, Don. I'm looking forward to the new features.

Michael Salvi, how about 200k, a bucket of chicken, and just a SMALL retreat at a resort? The stress of wanting my share back is really getting to me, and I'm sure we could all use a massage to relax a bit.

i like the small retreat idea. i think i gave up on the idea of "my share" they can have it, it's just paper anyway, i just want the bank to get off the title to my house already. but i'll take the retreat for sure. as long as the retreat is on an island like in "lost"...i wanna see what that magic box is all about...adn i'd like to make friends with the smoke monster, he seems like a good ally.

I would like to ditto the counters.

Also, I think that having regularly monthly updates on website activity always visible to members or something so that we can see for ourselves certain information regarding hits and page views. For instance, I would really like to see a line graph or some other graphic representation of how the website has been doing. Perhaps a monthly and then an overall since site launch would be very good. Perhaps someone looking at them could see a trend that no one else could that could help us capitalize in one more way.

Ted, you mean like what www.RonPaulGraphs.com used to do for the Presidential campaign?

Great numbers!
Perhaps a tab for member blogs would work. There can be a warning for language and an option to return to homepage if people don't wish to continue.
The ability to rate a blog would help the C4L in choosing a blog spotlight for the front page.

C4L has a great feature. The "Ban from commenting on my posts" option. After all, this is also about taking personal responsibility isn't it?

Hey, tleser,

Something like that would be good. However, it does not necessarily have to be updated everyday. I was thinking just each month give the information and then have a link to earlier months, and perhaps an overall. I feel like this could be done really simply.

what happened to the "recent blogs" that used to be posted as users would post on the right side? I liked them...does anyone know if they will come back?

i hope i wasn't one of the foul mouthed freaks who ruined the recent blogs thingy
either way. i know i could be doing more and i'm looking for those ways in which i will be doing more for c4l.
but one thing i do do which i know brings a few curious folks here for a looksee, is to stamp all my fed reserve notes with a "CampaignForLiberty.com" stamp i had made from one of these online rubber stamp places.
peace to all fellow campaigners and keep fight the good fight!!
