The House is currently in the midst of a three hour debate over H Con. Res. 248, which would require President Obama to pull U.S. troops out of Afghanistan within 30 days of the resolution's passage by Congress or no later than the end of 2010.
Pat Kennedy is such a whiny douche. He is angry though. I don't understand why democrats are so vocal about our crappy foreign policy but republicans are so gung-ho about going to war for Israel. It's aggravating.
Ugh politicians are such hypocrites. Kucinich just stood up there and prattled on about the constitution and how when he takes an oath to it he doesn't cross his fingers behind his back. I just looked at his website and he supports universal healthcare. Wow, yeah I guess that makes sense because the constitution does give the legislative the responsibility to declare our wars, just like it gives the gov't the power to control and provide healthcare for all Americans. SICK.
John Duncan - bless you. Finally a republican standing up against the war. Yes he even mentioned the "N" word... No not that "N" word, NEOCON.

How about we try building our nation instead of meddling in other countries.
Alan Grayson made a great speech. Pointed out how we won Iraq and Afghanistan shortly after we arrived and that Highlighted the astronomical price of war in blood and money. "The President just said he committed 50,000 troops to Afghanistan. That means he just sentenced 7,500 troops to permanent brain injuries."
Followed Duncan Hunter, passionately defending the killing of his fellow soldiers.

Write your representatives and tell them to support this resolution, especially if they are Democrats. We need to let them know we have their back, even if the Republicans cry about it.
I liked the passion that Kennedy showed in his speech but I wondered if it was true emotion or just pandering. I totally agree with him that we need to come home from the middle east. The democrats that were voted into the congress to end these wars are liars. The constituents which have their congressmen or women vote against this measure should send a nice letter followed up by a phone call. I am sure my Rep. Chris Lee a republican for NY will vote against this...he's a corporate shill.
Every time I see these videos, I am reminded on how prophetic Dr. Paul can be in the face of overwhelming odds. When the dust settles, he knows that his words will still stand.
Not that the Democrats did great, but at least a decent handful voted in favor of this bill. Makes you think twice about which party is closer to your views, doesn't it?
When the dollar crashes from all the printing necessary to sustain our wars and empire, the troops will be forced to come home unless they find a way to defend themselves by shooting the soon to be worthless dollar bills from their gun barrels rather than the soon to be unaffordable bullets. But this is a heck of a way to come home.
We need a serious wake up call. The first financial collapse didn't do the trick, maybe the next one will...

@mjcholko
It sure does....in addition to Ron Paul's great speech I also was very impressed by Alan Grayson's speech(and his peace tie LOL) I'm starting to think with these tough times its time to ditch the republican party and (well ideally join the libertarian party) but i think its not a bad idea to look into running as a democrat if some of you liberty minded people are looking to run for office. It really says something when only 5 republicans vote yea on this bill. Not even Paul Ryan or Jeff Flake voted yea, its time we should rethink who is more closer to our ideals.

When Funny Money Is Used By Fools It's Death And Destruction.
Who is foolish enough to commit trillions of dollars to a host of endeavors that are premised on careless lies of politicians who promote the agenda of the military industrial complex? Congress is that fool.
Who is foolish enough to put aside principle and instead tow the line of the unConstitutional coup? The bought-and-paid-for media, that's who.
And what is used to wreak the destruction of lives domestically and internationally and to essentially bribe the media? It is the funny money printed by the counterfeiting operation of the unConstitutional coup.
No wonder the Federal Reserve (and the powers dependent on it) does not want to be audited. It is funding illegal and immoral activities all around the world. It is the lifeblood of the criminal unConstitutional coup. An audit would make Congress hear the demands of all civilized people, here and abroad, to stop the imperialism and to re-establish the Constitutional Republic.

Mirand Sharma - You are absolutely right, we'll exhaust our resources on these wars and that's how they will end. Like countless empires before us, we'll overextend ourselves, go broke and be forced to retreat. These wars have always been vehicle for a select few to reap huge profits with the help of a corrupted Washington.
Mirand and Paul, I totally agree. Where is it in history when these kinds of activities were ever successful? It’s always based on something false like paper money that is fabricated to have value.
Eventually it does fail each and every time.
It is not how much money we have, its how much we achieve in a life time. Money does not record this, actions do and it’s not the acts of war either as history has shown.
Ron Paul has guts, how many would stand up against the majority and says you are wrong? But then he is honest and not bought and sold like so many.
Great Nations of the past fell from within. As we continue to spend trillions on endless wars abroad, our own home is on fire. No one cares for the greater good of the nation!
Best way to hasten fall of a nation, is to get them engaged in endless wars for indefinite period. Let them borrow. US would be paying $400 billion per year for debt financing, yet war must continue !
There is still time to stop this INSANITY.
Irony how many are listening to Ron Paul and other SANE voices in D.C !
