TSA Changes Rules Because of C4L Staffer
To borrow from Knight Rider (and other places, but why not make an 80s reference when one gets the chance), "one man can make a difference."
Thanks to Steve Bierfeldt's courageous stand in Missouri several months ago (and in the face of an ACLU lawsuit), the TSA now has to abide by two newly declared rules:
The new rules, issued in September and October, tell officers "screening may not be conducted to detect evidence of crimes unrelated to transportation security" and that large amounts of cash don't qualify as suspicious for purposes of safety....
Although the article starts out by identifying Steve as a Paul aide, it does later correctly mention that he is Director of Development for Campaign for Liberty. Way to go, Steve!

AuthenticAuthor Canutillo, TX | Well this is a nice step in the right direction. Now, if they made it legal for me to use my camera to record/photograph TSA agents then that would be even better. Because as it stands any serious observation of airport security is liable to land you in jail (even if their agents are committing crimes), while we are the sheep who are told to stay put when we are tagged in some obscure digital system. |

kroysc Reynoldsburg, OH | Liberty is taken away in small steps. For once its gained.
We need more people to stand up to these injustices if we ever want to get more freedom back. This incident inspired me to purchase and carry a pen sized digital voice recorder. |

American Epirus Omaha, NE | Thanks for making the sacrifice, Steve. We knew this would be someone's cross to carry at some point because we know how the federal government despises liberty. Thank you! |
