[Newer: GA Congressmen Hold the Line on HR 1207] [Older: Local Coordinator Training: Step 3]

As you have surely heard by now, HR 1207 has been gutted by a banking-industry backed Representative, Mel Watt (NC-12).

We Must Act NOW

Please take just a couple of minutes to call Representative David Scott (GA-13) and politely demand that he help restore HR 1207. All Georgians should do this step. Here is a sample script:

202-225-2939

Staffer: "Thank you for calling Representative Scott's office.

You: "Hi, my name is ____________ and I am a constiuent here in Georgia. I just wanted to call and thank Representative Scott for co-sponsoring HR 1207."

Staffer: "I'll be sure to pass that along."

You: "I also wanted to ask Representative Scott to reject the gutted version of HR 1207 that the Financial Services sub-committee has submitted. I would like for Representative Scott to help restore the original language of HR 1207 by voting in favor of Representative Paul's amendment."

Staffer: "I'll be sure to pass that along as well."

You: "Thank you, and have a nice day."

We all need to have a similar conversation with our actual Representatives. You can find their contact information here: http://www.campaignforliberty.com/congress.php
