Jason Lewis is very good. He occasionally guest hosts Limbaugh's show, which is one of the few times I will listen to that show. He actually quotes Bastiat and Hayek and mentioned Austrian economics; I always wonder if Limbaugh's audience knows what he's talking about.
Jason Lewis is more of a CATO Institute libertarian. He is very intelligent, but has Neo-Con leanings in foreign policy. He has gotten better (much like glenn beck) in rhetoric, but he made fun of Dr. Paul during the primaries and still doesn't feel he belongs in the Republican Party.
He does know economics and the constitution and has some common sense. The show has some limited national syndication and is worth a listen.
I have had a few on-air discussions with him over the years. So he is open to different opinions..
FYI- Due to the popularity of the segment, The Jason Lewis show re-broadcast the entire interview the very next night. He explained they had NEVER had the kind of reaction from the audience before and were bombarded with requests to re-air it...
You're welcome tb54701! Jason Lewis is certainly better than most. I admit that I haven't listened to him much since he seemed to be going more neo-con a few years back - perhaps he's reverted back to a more libertarian stance now, which is great.
Next weekend in Lambeau sure will be interesting, won't it? :-)

I think Jason has got better and better in the last year. He talks of his Libertarianism frequently. He calls out Republicans who wander towards big government and "Nanny State" policies. He's very good on economics, Cap and trade, health care, education, and the constitution for the most part. I have even heard him lately going more with the humble foreign policy stance. That we can no longer be the policeman of the world and take part in nation building. Hopefully he keeps it up.
Here are some short clips of Jason the other day talking about foreign policy. He seems to be moving away from Neocons (and therefore almost all other national radio talkshow hosts) on that.
This is a major problem with the U.S. form of fair and open democracy despite what status quo statist quote as flaw in PR democracy being too confusing for the public to be free to vote like chimps (republican /democrat).
Proportional Representative(PR)democracy has been used in the past in U.S. history and is currently used in municipal elections in some states presently.
If people choose a fairer metric in leader/party selection then PR democracy is in my view a better system than the winner-takes-all electoral selection process.
I like Lewis and his common sense. He does keep rather objective and tries to make aware the double standards even when it is a DS from the right. Ron Paul is great too. Thanks again for the post. I keep seeing you around more and more. (I am "trekkerperson" on youtube who keeps stumbling upon your posts)
I have this little saying from a quote I found.
Original quote:
As the Socialist Party candidate for president, Norman Thomas said in a 1944 speech: "The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform."
Change to
"The American people will never knowingly adopt libertarianism. But, under the name of 'conservatism,' they will adopt every fragment of the libertarian program, until one day America will be a libertarian nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a presidential candidate for the libertarian Party. The republican Party has adopted our platform."
Schiff, Paul etc. It takes time but it can happen.
"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."
—Thomas Jefferson
