Press Release: President Barack Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize
President Barack Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize
Washington D.C., October 9, 2009 -Today, the Nobel Committee awarded the peace prize to President Barack Obama only nine months into his presidency. According to the committee, the President was awarded the prize due to his "efforts to strengthen international diplomacy" and for creating "a new international climate in politics."
"Barack Obama's campaign may have changed the tone in international diplomacy, and that might have been a good thing," said John Tate, President of Campaign for Liberty. "However, his actions fail to match his campaign rhetoric. He is ramping up in Afghanistan, expanding the war into Pakistan and his administration is making plans to bomb Iran. At the same time, he has failed to make major troop withdrawals in Iraq, or anywhere else in the world." (go here for link to John's quote as it appear's at foxnews.com)
The deadline for Nobel nominations is February 1st of the award year, merely ten days after President Obama officially took office, which has caused some to question whether the President has accomplished enough to be worthy of the award. In addition, many believe that the administration's continuation of many of the Bush-era policies regarding Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran should term him not qualified for such an award.
Ironically, after awarding the prize to former president Jimmy Carter in 2002, the committee chairman offered that it should be considered "a kick in the leg" to the Bush administration's war policies.

Who Bribed The Nobel Committee?
Now we know where some of the TARP funds that disappeared went! Bribing the committee members under the table was done to perpetuate the myth that the leadership in America does good things in the world. This is just another layer of camouflage for the unConstitutional coup in an effort to buy more time (and in this case to buy votes) for the economic terrorists of the inner circle of the unConstitutional coup to try to hold together their international monetary hegemony, which is what props up their house of cards. |

RhysW ann arbor, MI | I want one! I didn't know the standards were so lax or I would have asked for one already! |

haironbear2 Wauwatosa, WI | By these criteria though, Obama was robbed. He has accomplished as much in peace as he has in physics, medicine, and literature how come he didn't get prizes for all of those?
Though this will add a layer of irony to our eventual invasions of Iran and Pakistan. |

Smallmaniac Orlando, FL | If Obama was nominated for what he was talking about doing, which looks to be the case, where is the Nobel Peace Prize for Ron Paul? Seriously, the man has been a champion of the little guy, he's opposed Bush's foreign policy, and he even put forth intelligent ideas on how to fix the current economic crisis. Dr. Paul has done more than enough to warrant a Nobel Peace Prize, but I suppose that's just too much. Congratulations Obama, I truly hope you are deserving of such an honor. |

Redsabre1 Portland, OR | God Help us all. When a man who has done nothing can receive and award such as this. It TOTALLY degrades the spirt of what it is supposed to mean. Next He will begin credit for what fixing the economy. I totally agree with all the above statements |

AuthenticAuthor Canutillo, TX | This is insanity! I suppose the Nobel committee thinks that being a Democrat is enough. Awarded for "efforts to strengthen international diplomacy."? What the hell does that mean?! He's continued covert operations in Pakistan, the war in Afghanistan, and the occupation of Iraq, threatened sanctions against Iran, started a trade war with China and done little if anything to remain neutral with respect to Israel and Palestine.
Nobel must be rolling in his grave. The Nobel Prize has gone off the deep end. |

zoesmom0504 Milton Freewater, OR | As my husband put it, it's the nobel peace prize, not the nobel hope prize. I honestly think they just nominated him for being the first black american president, and considering he was nominated ten days after he took office - what ELSE could it be? I know what they are saying he won it for (personally I just think the global community likes the fact that he wants to turn us into a third world socialist country), but that literally cannot be the reason why he was nominated. I want to go back to sleep! Wake me up when this nightmare is over. |

ladynurse Festus, MO | Well if they didn't give it to him, they would be racists, too, so I understand.
I hope he and Michelle consider that 'reparation' for her slave-ancestors.
(End sarcasm/start disgust)
Don't that just beat all...I can't believe that the Nobel Peace Prize can be awarded to politicians based on their empty campaign promises. Why didn't they award it to him on 9-12-09 when everyone was there to 'congratulate' him?
Makes one wonder how the hell they can fit all those people in their bed... |

ScottXS Hoffman Estates, IL | Sounds like some Norwegians should win the Nobel Hemp Prize for outstanding, trippy smoke.
A consolation prize for having paid the Olympic committee, and not gotten the goods?
A consolation prize for having grand communist ideals in a rebelious, free country that is just beggining to mock and hate him?
Anyone winning the Nobel after Algore has won a booby-prize as far as I'm concerned. |

Can I deduce that is what I’m seeing?

Is this much too much?

illuminati hater Las Vegas, NV | This is absolutely ridiculous. What's go over what this man has done so far:
-Increase troops for the war in the Middle East: Check
-Bring back the Patriot Act: Check
-Supports Universal (government run) health care: Check
-Supports more taxes: Check
That's what the committee considers humane? Christ. We are in a helluva a lot of trouble. |
